Ranch-talo on uusittu ja siinä on ylellinen Master-sviitti tilavasta keittiöstä. Yläkerrassa 3 isoa vierashuonetta, joissa kaikissa on oma turhamaisuutensa ja hyvin varustettu kylpyhuone. Viihtyisässä oleskelutilassa on tulisija lämmittävä takka. Keittiössä on saari, johon kaikki voivat liittyä sosiaalisen ajan aikana tai palvella juhlaa suuressa viereisessä ruokasalissa. Joko viihdyttävä, huvittava näkymien ja tähtiä pelkäävällä pinta-alaa kohti tai katsellen Salidan parhaiden tarjousten ihmeellisillä kanavilla -

This is our second time to stay here and we just love staying at David’s place. He and Hank are so sweet and Hank loves his petting time with us. The house has plenty of parking with our trucks and trailers, as we come to ride the trails with our Razors. The kitchen has everything you need and spices already in the cabinet. There’s plenty of towels and a very nice washer and dryer for your convenience. The views are spectacular, there are many deer that come through the property and there’s nothing better than front porch sitting and seeing God’s beauty. We are sad David’s selling the place and we hope the new owners are as pleased with the house as were. We hope to stay here again!

We loved our stay on this beautiful ranch. The views were spectacular! The home is close to Salida but feels remote which made it the perfect place for our family to rest and enjoy a little downtime between other activities. The home was very comfortable and the sinks in the upstairs bedrooms were a hit. We would happily return to this home if we were to stay in the area again.

Gorgeous Views of Salida

We absolutely loved our stay at this working ranch. I think we sat for hours on the front porch just enjoying the breeze and views. The house itself was large and comfortable. We felt right at home. My chihuahua looked forward to the daily visit from his new buddy, Hank, the resident dog. Fantastic time. Highly recommend and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Great Ranch!

My friends and I had a great time. We were in Salida for mountain biking, and the property was perfect for us. It's a bit away from town center, but the space was great, especially for our dogs.

Spring Break at the ranch

The property was perfect for our needs. Close to the activities we had chosen. The house was very clean, well stocked with kitchen supplies for cooking and linens. Family of five plus dog was very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again next time we are in the area.

Thanksgiving stay

Home is very cozy. We had a family dog with us and the home was very pet friendly. Lots of space for our family of 6 and plenty of sleeping space. David made sure that the home was warm and the fireplace lit when we arrived. He had great communication as we were driving in with weather and unsure if we would make it as scheduled. We do a lot of cooking on our trips and Kitchen does not have storage containers or ziplocks to keep your food. The other travelers are correct in that the drains in the bedrooms are very slow to drain. The master bedroom TV was inoperable if you like to lay in bed and watch. There are people coming and going on the property as ranch hands or others doing things in the property. There is a camper right next to the house that workers were in and out of, just something to be aware of if you like secluded properties. We will be back to visit as Salida is a staple for our family.

A peaceful time in a beautiful land

It was very pleasant, clean and beautiful! Every morning with my cup of coffee I would see the meadows, hear the birds and see the deer. The place reminded me of what it is all about. Beauty, nature and surrounded by good folks. David and Becky were there for any of our questions. Love the land. Plan on coming back Take care and keep the peace.

Amazing mountain getaway

We visit Salida often (live in Denver) and normally stay downtown. We wanted a large house this trip due to family from out of town coming to visit. This house was perfect! We loved the accommodations, front porch views & that it was only a very, very short drive to downtown restaurants. The host was also very responsive & accommodating to any requests. This may be our go to now for any Salida visits we have in the future!

Clean and comfortable

Beautiful home, plenty of space for our group with young children. Beds were comfortable, and we really enjoyed the fireplace at night. Sunrise views are also stunning. If you are coming in the summer- the outdoor spaces look lovely! We couldn’t enjoy them as much because of the cold. House is about 25 minutes to monarch mountain and 4 minutes to downtown salida.

Great Family Getaway

We had a wonderful time during our stay and loved visiting the horses and seeing the cattle and all the roaming deer. It was a perfect layout for the 8 of us. We loved the outdoor space both on the front porch and the table on the side was large enough for us to eat outside. The house was very close to town and conveniently located to hike, mountain bike and go white water rafting. We will rent again when returning to Salida.

Great Family Gathering

Great place on a beautiful property. Good communication and check in. The house is nicely appointed and spacious. The place was very clean. Family room is a little small with limited furniture, but otherwise the rooms are large and the kitchen and dining area had plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen could be a little better equipped for this price range- it had all the essentials but no big bowls for mixing or serving and very limited cleaning supplies (no scrubber for dishes, just a single cut in half sponge). Coffee machine was a little tricky to figure out. The ranch hand (or maybe owner?) was friendly as was Hank the dog. Great outdoor space with lots of seating. Grill is charcoal so you’ll need to provide your own briquettes. The only real con was the parking - all spots actually next to the house were blocked off with ropes or rocks so you have to park near the drive, which is basically down a small but steep embankment. Not a big deal at all, but you do have to carry all your stuff up or toss it up into the yard like we did. Overall this was a great place for our family and we would definitely stay here again. The ranch is beautiful and we would have loved to explore it more if we had the time.

Perfect for our needs

This place is perfect for several couples to gather. There are 4 bedrooms, three baths and plenty of room to accommodate all of you. The kitchen and dining room are large and the family room will comfortably seat 6 or more with added chairs. We were able to have dinner catered and it worked out fine. The master is downstairs and the other three bedrooms upstairs. Heating was initially an issue but with the help of the manager and the fireplace in the family room and an extra ceramic heater in the master bedroom we were warm and cozy. Plenty of linens, a washer and dryer and comfortable beds. The dishware was not really made for gourmet cooking but who does that while on vacation? All in all we were quite pleased with the home and the surroundings were peaceful. Outdoors would be quite enjoyable on warm summer days.

Beautiful mountain retreat

Two families joined at this home for a fun outdoor weekend. We appreciated being close to Monarch for skiing. And yet we were also close to town to enjoy ice skating and convenience of stores. We hiked the property and enjoyed the beautiful sunrises. We cooked huge meals and relaxed as a family. We will be back!

Cabin AND walking distance to town!

Excellent property, beautifully decorated and great location to town, hiking, etc. We did not realize the home is attached (duplex) from the VRBO website, which appeared to be detached. However, we would definitely stay again!

The only thing remaining was the four walls and the roof. after building 600 homes I built this one just for me and my taste and I think you will like what I did. I always wanted a sink in my bedroom, so each room has it's own vanity and sink.
You also have access to over 280 acres to hike and explore.

Stay on this historic ranch in the heart of Salida. To be on 300 secluded acres and 3 miles from all of the enjoyment of Salida makes this a one of a kind experience. The ranch acres are open for wandering or simply watch the wandering deer, horses, and cattle. Additionally, there are a myriad possibilities for adventure close by, including horseback riding, rafting the world famous Arkansas River, hiking, biking, fishing, skiing, shopping, and delicious eats!

This historic Chavara Ranch has kept the old charm of the original homestead. Once you visit, you will come back year after year!

The space:
The ranch house has been remodeled featuring a luxurious master suite with a 5 piece bath. Upstairs there is a well appointed bathroom and three large guest bedrooms upstairs all with their own vanity. The cozy living area has a hearth and fireplace. The kitchen has an island where all can join and a large adjoining dining room for family meals. The Chavara Ranch is perfect for family time, ambling around the acreage in awe of the views and stars, wandering deer, horses, and Angus cows, or adventuring out in the wondrous avenues of Salida's best offerings - We look forward to your enjoyment!
