Gros Morne National Park

Keskellä Gros-Morne National Park, joka on nimetty World Heritage UNESCO, istuu viehättävän kylän Rocky Harbour.



Kylä on erillisalue sisällä Gros Morne National Park, ja siten asukkaiden ja matkailijoiden keskuudessa ovat lähellä vaellusreittejä upeat näkymät, veneretkiä, lämmitetty uima-allas, poreallas ja maastoleikit hiihtolatuja kausi.



Talomme istuu etelärannalla Rocky Harbour. Sillä on oma ranta ja laituri. Rocky Harbour on toimiva kalasatama niin odottaa kalastajia lähdet kohti majakka aamuyöllä aamulla ja palaavat kuormattuna alas saaliiden puolivälistä aamu alkaen. Meidän laituri ja rannalla kerätä elämän haaksirikkoiset kalasatama. Vaikka varovaisuutta, kun pelaa tällä alueella, hauskaa voidaan oli tutustumaan rannalla fossicking aarteita pestään meren rannalla.



Vuokrakohteesta on moderni ja tilava (1400 sq. Ft., Tai 130 sq. Metriä) talon veden edessä. Katettu veranta / kannelle on ihanteellinen paikka istua varhain aamulla kuppi kahvia tai teetä lukea kirjaa tai vain nauttia yksinäisyyteen rikkomatta päivä. Keväällä, kesällä ja syksyllä se on ihanteellinen syöminen ulkona, katsomassa auringon dip horisonttiin.



Olipa talvella (yleensä lievempi kuin mantereella johtuu meri- ilmasto) tai kesällä (tuoreempaa, samasta syystä), alue tarjoaa monipuolisia mahdollisuuksia ulkoiluun. Uinti on varattu voimakastahtoinen sielut (veden lämpötila vaihtelee 12 ja 16C astetta kesällä ja 0 5C astetta talvella).



Tärkeimmät makuuhuoneessa on välähdyksiä Gros Morne makuuhuoneen ikkunasta, joka paljastaa alati vaihtuvat värit ja luonne tämän vaikuttavan landform. Huone on sisustettu tyylikkäästi Queen-vuode ja yöpöydät, laatu vuodevaatteet ja on oma vaatehuone ja oma kylpyhuone.

    Great house to stay in Rocky Harbour. We explored Norris Point and surrounding areas. Close to many restaurants and hikes. Would highly recommend.

    Stay in Rocky Harbour

    The house was nice but not the most comfortable. We would have loved to have a coffee by the water or even on the back deck but there were no comfortable chairs to sit on. There were 4 folding little wood chairs and after a long hike you can’t possibly be comfortable on them. The earwig situation in the house made us very uncomfortable.

    Perfect place in a perfect location...

    The house is perfect, in great shape, very clean, and perfectly located for enjoying Gros Morne National Park hiking trails that are both north and south of the house location. Best place for a "fresh breakfast" and at least one dinner is Java Jack's. Again, perfect place to stay with a back porch to enjoy the start and end of the day.

    Great house, Great location

    My son and I recently visited New Foundland for his high school graduation. The house was perfect. It was very clean and perfectly located for our daily outings into Gros Morne National Park. The house had all of the amenities for our trip and allowed us to cook several meals at home and also visit some great local restaurants. Also the deck views of the water with my morning coffee were remarkable as I waited for the 18 yr old son to wake up. We often went from dense fog to complete sunshine or from sunshine to dense fog and mist while he was snoozing. I hope to return.

    Great NFLD trip

    The house is accurately described. Beverley greeted us upon arrival with fresh fruit with crackers and cheese! Totally unexpected. We all enjoyed our stay. Great location on the water and within walking distance to restaurants.

    Felt like coming home

    Well appointed home that had almost everything that we needed. We had a problem with the WiFi but they were in the midst of resolving it and dealt with us quite fairly. We had lots of activities scheduled in and around Rocky Harbour and if felt like coming home at the end of each day. Lovely home and welcoming host. Thank you!

    Great place to use as your base to explore Gros Morne

    The house was easy to find, furnished beautifully and had plenty of room for the 4 of us. It was nice that each couple had their own bathrooms and each bathroom had a box of fancy soaps and lotion. The kitchen was well equipped and there was also an electric Bar-B-Q on the deck for our use. The backyard backed onto the bay and together with the small beach behind the house gave us an amazing view of the sunsets. There was lots of literature about the area as well as cds and dvds provided to us and Wi-Fi was excellent. The property manager, Beverly, met us promptly and was nothing but professional and friendly, patiently answering all of our questions. She even brought us bottled water the night before when the town was going to temporarily turned off the water for maintenance the next morning. Also the owner, Marcel, himself called to ensure that we were not put out by the temporary loss of electricity, also shut down by the town for maintenance at one point during our stay and to make sure we were happy with the accommodations. It showed us that he wasn’t just interested in running his rental as a business but as a home. We would definitely recommend this place!

    Beautiful cottage

    This is likely the cleanest, best equipped vacation rental we have ever had the pleasure to visit. Located in the charming village of Rocky Harbour, it is ideally situated from which to explore Gros Morne National Park. We loved being able to walk around the village to experience the culture and the food. Marcel and Ruth take great care in equipping their lovely cottage with books about local life, brochures and maps, games and pretty well anything a couple or family would want to add to their stay. In fine weather it is a pleasure sitting out on the verandah and gazing at the water and mountains. Walk down to the water at sunset and experience the beautiful colours playing on the water and the mountains. Gorgeous!

    Amazing Location in Gros Morne National Park

    Just wanted to say thanks again for our stay at the Jolly Moose. We all enjoyed our stay there very much. It is a great house in an amazing location. It was more than we expected. The house was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. As you told us there are many great walks in Gros Morne National Park and the scenery is wonderful.

    Just wonderful!

    My husband and I and our two teenage sons stayed at the Jolly Moose and had a great time. The house is remarkably clean, nicely decorated and well- outfitted; certainly the most tidy and comfortable of all of our rental experiences. The location is perfect: lovely view of Rocky Harbor, quick drives to great hikes and awesome restaurants and a quick walk into town. The kitchen is small but so well laid out that cooking was a joy. We feel so lucky to have stayed at the Jolly Moose!

    Excellent family vacation location.

    We stayed at the Jolly Moose very recently for four nights. During our tour of the northern peninsula we had stayed in nice hotels but were grateful to have the space, cooking/laundry facilities and dvd collection at our disposal. Its a great location to stay and see the park. Tom and Edna were very accommodating and we didn't want for anything. The residence was perfect for our family of four. Other than the Dinner Theatre, we ate all of our meals at the house overlooking the water, including our own catches, the local Fish Market and take-out from Earles and Jackies restaurants. The Cow Head Dinner Theatre and numerous hiking and fishing opportunities are a must. One tip..if going to the Ocean View to see the local music, please go early and make appropriate inquiries, we couldn't get in at 8:30 at night as it was already full. Thanks Marcel for making our dream trip to Newfoundland so memorable.

    Location & comfort

    My friend and I stayed at the Jolly Moose for a week and couldn't have been happier. First of all, Rocky Harbour couldn't be a more convenient base for all of one's Gros Morne forays. And the house itself is comfortable, with a lovely porch looking out over the bay. The perfect place to catch gorgeous sunsets. The owner is quick to respond to any questions. Word of advice: Although we loved our visit and saw quite a lot, we went a little too early in the season. The famed boat trip in the fjord was not yet operating and a few of the hikes were still impassable due to snow. So I'd suggest early June through September (a local told me that September is an ideal time to visit; it's post tourist season but everything is still accessible).

    Once upon a time, a New Zealand woman met a Quebec man at the water's edge. They fell in love.

    For a few years, they traveled a lot between New Zealand and Quebec to be together. One day, the New Zealander made Quebec her adopted home. She liked it there, but she missed the sea, so one spring she asked her Quebecer: "Take me to the sea". Wanting the best for her, the Quebecer took her to Newfoundland. They fell in love again, with Newfoundland.

    For a few months, they traveled extensively between Newfoundland and Quebec to spend time together on the Rock (Newfoundland is often referred to as "the Rock" because the place is ... rocky, to say the least). It wasn't long before they wanted a pied-à-terre in their adopted land and bought a house on the waterfront. A loop had just been completed.

    They'd like to settle there someday, so they could follow moose tracks in the snow in the winter, whales on the sea in the summer and Newfoundlanders at the pub the rest of the time. On that day, the New Zealander turned New Canadian will be a New Newfoundlander, and the Quebecer will be, well, a Quebecer.

    In the meantime, they are happy to offer their home to people who share their interest in travel and adventure and who are not afraid to fall in love.
