We had a lovely long family weekend here! We enjoyed the hot tub, pool table and even got a visit from the bears! Kate was wonderful to communicate with—adding an extra day was easy and she was so flexible with us arriving slightly earlier than our check-in time. The view of the mountains at sunrise and sunset from the deck was spectacular. In case this helps anyone else, we found that with the drive up the mountains, taking the slightly longer route that has you driving through downtown Gatlinburg was much easier to get to the cabin than the way from Pigeon Forge.Would stay here again!

Came with a group. Within 2 hours I saw a bear in the front walking around the cars. The view was amazing. I loved this place and we had an absolute blast and didn’t even want to leave!

Clean and beautiful as described. We were very impressed with the exceptional level of customer service. There was an HVAC issue when we first arrived, but the host acted at lightning speed and got a tech there within 1 hr of notice and fixed it in 15 mins. She also checked in on us and made sure we got everything we needed. It also looked like the cabin was maintained well. The deck has a new beautiful red stain, which makes the cabin really stand out from the green backdrop. Several pieces of furniture looked quite new. They also added a head-to-head arcade in the game room, which was not in the pictures so that was a pleasant surprise. We would recommend this cabin to everyone.

Beautiful

This cabin is even more beautiful in person—spacious, cozy, and with amazing views. Everything was spotless, and the kitchen well-stocked. We enjoyed the great selection of board games and the pool table in the game room. It’s close to the park and downtown attractions. We'd love to come back.

Great cabin!

The cabin was spacious, clean, and fun with INCREDIBLE views! The kids say “it was the best cabin we could have” and they especially loved the pool table, hot tub, and arcade games.

Close to everything

We picked this cabin due to its close proximity to Ober Mountain and Downtown, and were not disappointed. It was sparkling clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We made full use of the game room during heavy snow days. The host was very caring and responsive. She even warned us of inclement weather and gave helpful safety tips. We all agree that this was the best vacation we've ever had in the Smokies.

Perfect vacation

We had a perfect vacation here. The cabin was tastefully decorated, well-maintained, well-equipped, and very clean. Kate was extremely fast in responding to our questions. Our kids enjoyed the game room while us adults loved lounging in the hot tub while watching bear cubs wrestling in the back yard. What a scene lol! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Perfect mountain getaway!

The pictures don’t do this beautiful cabin justice. It’s is spacious yet warm and cozy. The views were phenomenal, even in the off season. Everything was extremely clean and the kitchen was well stocked. My kids loved the game room upstairs. We also enjoyed the large selection of board games. It is close to the park and all of the downtown attractions. Driving up the mountain was intimidating but I found it manageable especially if I drove through town and skipped the more challenging bypass route. The parking tips provided were also very helpful and appreciated.

Amazing stay

Wow, this place is amazing! I totally recommend this location sooo close to Gatlinburg and the house has so much privacy. My family and I absolutely loved it here and will return. We used both fireplaces and had game nights. The game room was exquisite and kept the kids busy with alot to do. The Hot Tub was amazing looking over Gatlinburg. I would recommend this location to anyone. So many different restaurants and family entertainment is available in the area. The hosts are so responsive and kind. Our car broke down and the hosts were so kind and offering help and allowed us to stay throughout the day. Five stars all the way and look forward to returning here.

Beautiful place!

This cabin is very clean and beautiful. Fall foliage view from the deck is mesmerizing. Game room is a blast for rainy days. Location can't be better; we were so close to downtown, yet we feel like we were away from all the hustle and bustle. Kitchen has everything we needed from cookware, utensils to spices, trash bags, etc. The host was very attentive and competent. We would definitely come back. Thank you for your hospitality.

This place is amazing! So many games and activities in the house you don’t need to leave! We had a couple of minor issues that Kate solved as quickly as possible without any problems. Great location, so much to do, or if you prefer, so little to do! And the daily bear visits were the icing on the cake!!!

Wonderful views of Gatlinburg. Very cozy. Pool table and classic video games were a hit. Furniture looked very new. Appliances looked new as well. Having a wrap-around covered porch allowed for protected views no matter the weather.

Fantastic mountain getaway!

We LOVED every minute of our stay here. The house was absolutely beautiful and our family of 5 (plus 2 dogs) was able to spread out and enjoy some relaxation. The upstairs game room was a huge hit. We saw bears EVERY SINGLE DAY multiple times throughout the day; one even climbed on the first floor patio while we were on the second floor and another was in the neighbors car right next door! Five minute drive to town and easy to get to restaurants/downtown Gatlinburg. Owner was extremely responsive and house was in great condition. Highly recommend - you will not be disappointed!

Family vacation great location for everything

We had a spectacular time staying at Papa Bear's Den in late May. The weather was perfect, and the location is excellent for all the Great Smoky Mountain area. The driveway is steep, but don't let that deter you...we had it mastered in a couple of times! We loved the deck and amenities. The kitchen is spacious for multiple cooks. Teens and young adults spent hours in the loft, as well as adults who remember all the classic video games on the console! The bears are going to be a memory forever! We saw them daily, and if you're following bear etiquette, they will do their own thing while you watch from the safety of the home. Thanks for the memories.

Great location and fair price

The good: Plenty of room for 6-8 people. Nice location. Fun to watch active bear activity from the porch. Pool table and video game was nice for the teens and beds super comfortable. Negative: no ball for the fooseball table. No salt, pepper or spices as listed in the description. No baking sheet to cook biscuits for breakfast. Some lamps were missing bulbs. Could not find way to turn on outdoor flood light so parking and travel up porch stairs was completely dark.

75th birthday

From the moment we stepped into the cabin it was clear that the owners take pride in providing comfortable, well maintained and well decorated accommodations. There was not one word of the description that was misleading. The view from the balcony is beautiful. The assortment of games in the loft were all in top condition, foosball, pool, arcade game and the poker table with the mini wet bar made it complete. With bathrooms on all 3 levels we never had to wait, great facility for a birthday, family reunion and so on. 5 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg and 8 minutes from the entrance to Smokey mountain national park. Even with the easy access to gatlinburg we were far enough away to never have any noise plus it felt secluded in the Tennessee mountains.

Great view of Gatlinburg and the mountains

Beautiful cabin. Located just moments from the end of downtown Gatlinburg stoplight number 10 very easy commute to get to anything you want. The cabin was comfortable and well equipped as well as clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay as well as our interaction with the host. To top it all off we saw bears almost every day. They just stroll by while we’re on the porch, and gave us a look as they passed by. Beautiful animals. We would stay here again for sure. While the driveway is tight, it’s not as bad as others make out. I think it all depends on what type of vehicle you drive. A large SUV may be tighter. Our Hyundai palisade was able to make it to the top and then turn around Without much trouble

Family Vacation in Tennessee

Enjoyed having family together for our annual vacation. Kids enjoyed Dollywood as expected. Plenty of shade and no long lines like Orlando. Challenging driveway led to a magnificent home that provided the separation we need with kids and grandkids. Covered wraparound porch was perfect and we enjoyed many mornings and again late into the night telling stories, some we had never heard previously, thank goodness. One night a tree fell up the road and the Generac generator started and restored all service within minutes. We need to consider for our full time residence. We’ve rented dozens of homes in the mountains over the last 2 decades and this was the first with such a safety net. The house contains many smaller but noticeable features that express attention to detail we’d expect in our own home like lighted outlet cover plates. Top notch hot. On a different note, all of us found the Titanic Museum in Gatlinburg beyond our expectations. And my oldest daughter who cried at the movie grand opening because Leonardo passed was happy. We have friends that visit the museum every year. Hillbilly Golf (putt putt) was a blast in downtown. Maybe the highlight of our vacation will be the bear encounter at Mad Dog Creamery and Donuts. Bears love ice cream! After the vacation, I sent Kate a few suggestions for improvements (that’s just me) and she replied within a day that all was corrected. Have never encounter that type of follow-up. Thank you Kate!

Insane fall colors!!!

OMG the fall colors from this cabin are INSANE. Like I legit won the jackpot. Vacation = smooth + relaxing. Host is super on top of everything and actually cares. 10/10 would stay again.

The property is absolutely gorgeous! The view was so amazing and the amenities were over the top. We did see a few bears so make sure you lock your car and keep all food and trash secure. We will be back again for sure!

I have a great interest in interior decor and travelling. Hosting a vacation rental means I can do both yay! I purchased this cabin in Sep 2019. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it, and I hope you do too. I think money may or may not bring joy; however, travel definitely makes us happier. It gives us an opportunity to step outside our well-worn, self-constructed realities and provides a platform to explore ourselves - who we might be when we are not anxious about safety, security and status. Being in the travel business make me feel like I am a life improver. I am happy when my guests are happy. That is why I am working very hard to make your experiences of the Smokies pleasant and unforgettable.

I love everything about this cabin. It is located in Chalet Village, a perfect location that is close to everything. The cabin is new, spacious, and very well-maintained. All rooms have a cabin-style log bed with a comfy mattress, and a flat screen TV with Cable TV service. The cabin has a large 2-level deck with hot tub and BBQ grill, looking out to a million dollar view of the mountains and the tram. An entire story is designated for fun activities, including pooling table, poker table, arcade, and board games. Bears are active in the neighborhood, which provides a great opportunity for our guests to watch them from the deck. Another perk is access to three nearby clubhouses with pools and tennis courts.
