Vain muutaman askeleen päässä on Alyeska-vuori, jossa on 1 610 laskettavaa hehtaaria, 76 nimettyä polkua ja yli 669 tuumaa lunta vuodessa. Jos tarvitset hiukan enemmän kuin tuolihissit voivat tarjota, voit myös hankkia päivä (tai enemmän) Heli-hiihtoa uskomattomilta ensimmäisiltä kappaleilta ja pystysuoralta. Very unique home right next to the mountain!

Warm, cozy, and classic feel. We really enjoyed our time here! Walked across the street for dinner and breakfast and walked down to the resort for a lovely evening walk. The location is perfect! The home is older but cared for and the design is cool - classic Girdwood! The kitchen was recently updated and I appreciated the washer/dryer.

Cedar Cottage

PROS: This secluded cottage/chalet had old world rustic charm. We loved the living room benches that looked like they were used for entertaining guests. The kitchen had everything we needed from silverware to full appliances. Dish and laundry detergent(full washer and dryer)were provided. There is one bedroom with a double bed downstairs and loft steps that lead to a double bed and 3 twins upstairs. The bathroom also had a cabin style feel to it with an open shower and dressing area. The property manager provided shampoo, conditioner, soap, and a blow dryer. We had no issues with the shower temperature. Just turn the knob a little more than 3/4 of the way around and give it a minute to warm up. It was perfect for skiing at Alyeska. I wouldn’t say ski in/out, but just a short walk to the resort. The cottage is within walking distance or a short drive to restaurants and shops. We would definitely stay here again. It became like home after a day. CONS: The front door lock is a little tricky. Follow the directions carefully. It’s an older house, so the upstairs floor and loft stairs are very creaky. I had to move downstairs to sleep. The water system makes strange sounds after running/flushing water. A few items were already broken (kitchen drawer, sliding door in loft) when we arrived, so make sure you notify the property manager right away. The outside landscaping is grown high just like the rest of Girdwood. Bring very strong bug spray.(this is for Alaska in general)

Fall reset

Spacious and comfortable, especially ample seating. The bbq had mold built up inside so we chose not to cook outdoors-possibly from our moisture heavy summer. Fluffy powder room towels were lovely and nice art. We were curious about the medals displayed! Great stay! Hope its available this winter when we visit to ski!

Great for a weekend ski trip

Lovely property

Lovely property for 40 and under. Our group was much older and a little less mobile, so the chalet charms were more of an issue for us than would be for most. Once we found and turned on lights and fireplace, it was cozy and charming, definitely different design.

Beautiful cabin in a beautiful place

Really unique, pretty cabin. It seemed well managed- super clean, stocked nicely with everything we needed, and easy communication. Minor cons were a slightly funky shower (although functional and easy enough to use) and not much sound privacy as the loft rooms open to the living room and the beautiful wood interior echoes. Overall, a lovely, positive experience!

Honeymoon Retreat

Amazing location and feels like a cabin in the woods even though it’s walkable distance to most everything. The one recommendation I would make is for it to be 5 stars would be a better tankless water heater. I was never able to get a good shower longer than 5 minutes without it turning freezing cold- but would heat up to scorching if you turned the knob. If my husband had showered earlier that day you could forget about even getting 5 minutes worth of consistency. Other than that, this is the perfect getaway.

Alyeska snowboarding

Beautiful chalet. Walking distance to Alyeska resort. Chalet is comfortable and very warm(we went in December). We were able to check in a bit earlier due to forecasted bad weather leaving out of Anchorage to Girdwood. It snowed several inches overnight and early next morning the roads were taken care of and the driveway was also shoveled and plowed. Would recommend staying here any time of year, lots to do working walking distance including restaurants.

Didn’t want to leave

What a great place to stay. Not only did this house meet our needs but it’s location is perfect for seeing Alaska small town and out in the woods style. The red couch and benches gave all of us room to lounge and the fireplace was cozy after our mountain hikes/rafting trips. There is a donation only Bussing service to take you many places around Girdwood if you come by train. Crow Creek Mine, glacier/nature trail parks, and an animal conservation center are just a few activities close to this amazing house. We were a family of 6 adults and fit nicely in the space of this cabin. The kitchen held enough space for groceries to feed us for a week and the kitchen was well stocked in everything but glasses (5) and bowls (3). We got creative and made it work. Now as to the shower complaints that have been discussed in past reviews. FYI- this cabin has a tankless/on demand water heater. All 6 of us easily figured out how to use this heater. You literally need to turn it on, count to 15, test the water, adjust the knob, count to 15 again, test water, doing this until you have the temp you want. We didn’t need to move it but one time. Once you have it set to the right temp- take note as to where the arrow is and you can turn it off and on at the same place. We had our water temp set for the week.

Had a great week at the cabin. The location was close to Anchorage, had several hiking trails and was able to fish in Kenai and Seward. Hope to stay here again.

First time in Alaska for Birthday trip!

Went for a birthday trip and stayed two nights here. The pictures don’t do the size of the home justice. Pretty spacious and roomy. Didn’t plan on staying in the house for a long time during the day but ended up doing the opposite the first day we were there and spent the first day inside cause of tiredness from our flight. Didn’t mind since the home was so comfy! Girdwood is a small town but this house is located perfectly in the town we were able to walk to everywhere! We just couldn’t stop talking about how close the house was to things. We are planning a return to Alaska and hope to stay here again!
