The overall stay and spending time with our friends was nice but there were some cosmetic issues that caused concerns and did not match the listing’s photos. There was a horrible stain on floor 2 in front of the ice maker, the boards around the pool were concerning enough that none of the guest attempted to get into the pool and the electrical box in closet of one of the bedrooms on the second floor was fully opened and exposed wires. The home was clean, but there were cosmetic issues throughout. The house could use some major TLC. We had a good trip overall but the pictures definitely do not show the true condition of the home.

Major Issues - Safety and Cleanliness

Multiple issues with this home. The house was not clean upon arrival. There was broken glass in the floor and vomit on a throw pillow on a bed. Housekeeping did not come until the next day to address these issues. They do not wash bedding after every guest per housekeeping. Deck needs replaced, but maintenance just keeps nailing down nails and painting over rotten deck boards. We called before our vacation and asked if the deck had been addressed. They told us “yes.” We recommend bringing outdoor rugs for your own safety until the deck is replaced. Railing is wobbly and not safe. Pool was full of sand/dirt upon arrival. Carpet has trails of dirt. Tile is cracked and broken. Furniture is very old and worn out. There were only 4 coffee mugs in the whole house. The kitchen faucet leaks. There was an outlet without an outlet cover. Vacasa never addressed that even after we sent them a picture of the safety hazard. The WiFi is not good so streaming is pointless. We saw roaches and ants. They did add a foosball table and arcade that was fun for the kids. You have to walk up a rather steep sand dune with no boardwalk to access beach. They don’t supply dish towels or rags for the kitchen. Vacasa was very unprofessional during each interaction. We do not recommend dealing with them. All in all, it’s a large home with a long list of maintenance needed, and the owners do not care.

Great layout. Poor quality.

The house layout, proximity to the beach, and availability of a pool were great for a family of 14. But manage expectations when it comes to quality. Both the interior and exterior need repairs and improvements. There are wholes and dents in the walls, carpet needs replaced, even toilet seats were broken. Most notably the back deck and gate need replaced or repair. There are raise nails, splintered boards and the safety gate for the pool does not work.

Do not stay with young kids until the deck gets fixed

The house was basically what we expected and what every other review says… the amount of space is really nice. The carpets are disgusting and it’s definitely not the nicest, cleanest place. But I think that is reflected in the price. We expected all of those things when we booked the house. The ice makers were really really nice to have! And being right on the beach was super convenient. It’s really well stocked with basically any kitchen thing you need. But the condition of the deck alone is reason for us to not stay again. It was horrible. My poor 2 year old had to have multiple splinters dug out of his feet. They put some type of coating over part of the deck, but the area around the pool and the steps to the beach was so so bad. If you have young kids that like to run around the pool, I would highly reconsider renting this place until the deck is replaced.

Great vacation disappointed with deferred maintenance

Lots of deferred maintenance.....windows leaking, carpet stained and wore out, no water on 3rd floor sink, elevator doesnt work, tile cracked, need new deck, wash machine doesn't work on 3rd, ice machine on 2nd floor doesn't work, no batteries in remote, etc. Not to be rude but im assuming you knew this already though based on other comments......just hoping some of this stuff would have been taken care of.

Beautiful home

House is beautiful but there were roaches in the kitchen and in the cabinets. Also, we told them the first day about the elevator not working. No one ever came and fixed it. Also got locked out and code wouldn’t work. Had to wait on someone to contact us with a new code.

Great but needs some tlc

The home is very spacious. Some miss leading things were only 5 kings 2 queens and bunk room. No extra bed sheets, no towel replenishment and one towel per guest. 2 kitchen towels. Kitchen cabinets need painting as bottom had half painted. I would not put carpet in a beach house (just saying). It would be nice to know trash pickup days to put it out on curb. No passes or information at the house. Needs some painting on outside back and railing. We did have plenty of space for out families and enjoyed our stay after the air conditioning was fixed on the second day. I belt with the updates this is an ideal place to stay.

Great Family Place

Loved the space and proximity to the ocean. Plenty of space for a big family. The elevator was a big plus for getting moved in and out. Loved having the ice makers and small refrigerator on each floor and a space for the older kids to have their own space. Kids loved the video game on the 2nd living level

Family vacation

This home had plenty of space to accommodate our party of 14, with room to spare. The view was phenomenal, plenty of closet space, and roomy bathrooms. There were a few things that need work, but we made due so we didn’t have to disrupt our family fun. We would definitely rent here again.

Enjoyed our stay... but.

Enjoyed our stay here right by the beach. Lots of space to spread out and a full bathroom in each bedroom was great! But... they are not staying on top of maintenance. So, expect small issues and a place that needs updated. Issues that people commented about on other reviews still haven't been addressed. It was cheaper then other places of that size in the area. I booked it figuring it would have issues.

Service and communication was excellent Vacasa goes above and beyond to fix any issues that may arise house was clean and very accommodating. Even sent an hvac guy out on a Sunday night when we had air conditioning issues. Was fixed and we were good to go.

Spacious, perfect location, and beautiful view! Loved that everyone had their own room and bathroom. 20 people stayed and you would never know they were upstairs or downstairs. Kids loved the pool. Adults loved the ocean. Only 3 negatives… 1. Water stains on ceiling, 2.carpet on stairs could use cleaning, and 3. Terrible ants in the kitchen. Tried setting ant traps but didn’t work. None of these were deal breakers. Enjoyed the week.

Good house with great potential

Lots of pros and cons in this house, let’s start with the pros: location, away from the condos in a secluded area were there is little public traffic. Layout, this is the one of best home layout we have had with 3 living rooms with wet bars on each floor. Ice makers are on every floor (though 1 broke during the stay and Al wasn’t replaced). Pool has fence around it which was great with the kids. AC was amazing. Only ever went to 73 and place was freezing. Nice new patio furniture and plenty of seating. Now the cons. The primary issue I see was lack of upkeep. A handyman for a week would make a world of difference de. holes in wall with drywall screwed over with sign saying “do not move”, locks on back door don’t work, they have a piece of 1x4 to wedge in so people can’t access. Multiple high screws on the deck, we had to go around nailing them down as our 5 year old cut his foot day 1. The kids room was missing a TV and the shower curitan wasn’t installed. Elevator not working in 4 story house( this was disclosed in listing but goes with the upkeep issue). Multiple shower doors couldn’t close. Siding missing / ripped off the beach side patios. Pool fence strapped down by some cords, clearly been knocked down. I am not sure if it’s the new management company or the owner but the place needs some TLC and it would easily be a 5 star house but since gulf shores is hot it appears it’s being let go because it’s likey booked.
