The suite was an outstanding place to spend two weeks in Edinburgh. It was spacious, very well equipped, and in a fantastic location for seeing the sights and going to pubs and restaurants. Morris was very responsive to questions and requests and gave great local recommendations - a wonderful host. We will want to stay again when we return.

We had such a wonderful adventure in Edinburgh. Our accommodations were everything we expected them to be and more and our host responded to any messages immediately and was warm and welcomingThe flat is located in a fabulous spot with pubs, restaurants, patisserie, and shopping within blocks. We were able to walk everywhere easily and in a short amount of time. Along with the proximity comes a little bit of noise in the evenings, but nothing to discourage a return stay!. The flat was welcoming and cozy with excellent amenities. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need and the quickest tea kettle I’ve ever experienced as well as a very convenient washer and dryer at hand. The restroom had heated floors and towel bars and we called the mirror “the magic mirror” because the lighting made us all look five years younger and glowing. Lol I would most certainly stay here again and we do look forward to having that opportunity. I will caution that there are two flights of stairs to get to the flat and I was grateful I had a daughter to assist me with my huge suitcase. We felt fortunate to have selected this property!

Perfect location, stunning view!

Lovely, clean, spacious apartment, very bright due to the large windows. Well equipped kitchen. We enjoy walking and were able to walk to all Edinburgh’s highlights. Only used public transit to see the Britannia, and the apartment is close to all public transit options. Our host was very helpful with any questions or requests, and a repair man was sent immediately when there was a slight issue. We enthusiastically recommended this apartment as long as the flights of stairs are not a concern.

Fantastic location

Location couldn’t have been better, within easy walking distance of Royal Mile and shops. Very large apartment and well stocked with dishware etc. Only small negatives - carpet a bit shabby, well worn and Cooker had symbols on buttons worn off and only found instructions in French. Managed to Google English ones.

Scotland 2024

My daughter and I stayed at Morris' flat for our week in Scotland. The apartment was as described in the listing and well appointed. The view of the castle from the flat was stunning. Morris is an excellent host and easily accessible. The location is easily accessible to many Edinburgh highlights and attractions. We appreciated the quieter location to return home to after a day of sightseeing. We found some lovely restaurants within walking distance, our favorites were Badger & Company, Copper Blossom, and Gusto. Panda & Sons is a wonderful cocktail bar.

Charming Historic Stay

We enjoyed our stay in this unique home with beautiful historical character dating all the way back to 1790. You can truly feel the history in the architecture and details, and it gave our trip a sense of charm and authenticity you just don’t find in modern places.The location was by far the best part—right in the heart of everything, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and historic sites. It made exploring the area incredibly convenient, and we loved being able to walk almost everywhere.The new carpet in the bedroom and living room was a nice touch—clean, comfortable, and added a bit of freshness to the space. That said, the bathroom could still use some tender loving care and a steam cleaning of the living room couch cushions would bring the overall experience up a notch.Though eventually resolved, we did have a bit of a hiccup on the first day with collecting the keys to access the flat and should be noted that the apartment is accessed via 46 steps up a circular staircase. Normally not an issue for us, but it made our incredibly heavy suitcases quite the workout. While the home is located near some lively street-level bars and restaurants, we were pleasantly surprised that we didn’t hear any noise from inside the unit. It stayed quiet and peaceful at night, which we really appreciated.If you enjoy places with character and a sense of history, this is a charming option in an unbeatable location.

Great location and flat

Great flat in a lovely neighbourhood. Easy check in process, realise that there is a huge flight of stairs so be prepared with luggage. Heated floors in the bathroom were dreamy, huge main bedroom and lovely living room to relax. Kitchen was functional, some instructions for the appliances would be helpful for those that are non European. Super helpful to have a washer and dryer. Flat is a 8 min walk to marks and Spencer’s and sainsburys for groceries, 10 min walk to Princes street and a 15-20 minute walk into Old Town. Perfect location for restaurants, pubs, shops, with beautiful castle view.

Edinburgh’s Ideal Place to Stsy

We were perfectly situated to meet up with friends at the Balmoral and others just a few blocks from the Castle. The apartment is spacious with a terrific king sized bed, awesome shower/steam shower combo and heated towel rack- in short all the amenities. I offered a few suggested updates which Morris said he was planning to undertake. We’ll be back.

Great Location, Wonderful Home

We chose this home for our recent stay in Edinburgh. The home was wonderful. We loved staying in the place. The home is right in the heart of New Town, it is a historic Georgian home, but it still has the modern amenities that we needed for us to be comfortable. The views, (particularly of Edinburgh Castle), from the primary bedroom are unmatched. The home is only a short walk to just about anything. There are stores, pubs, and restaurants, in addition to parks and historic points of interest, all within easy walking distance. We did not require any form of supplemental transportation to get around. We walked (rather easily) to just about anything that we wanted to see. The home is comfortable. The living room had plenty of seating for the whole family. The kitchen has all that you need to make meals, and the dining area is plenty big for the whole family to eat together. The only thing I would note is that in the summertime, as things warm up, the lack of air conditioning may be a problem for some. We were able to open the windows in the evenings before sleeping to cool down the rooms (the flies loved coming into the home when the windows were open). All in all, it is an excellent property. If we ever travel back to Edinburgh, this will be the first place I look to for a booking.

Visiting Mom of International University Student

This pretty, well kept two BR apartment was exactly what I needed for my week's stay. With a child studying at the University for four years, I make at least two trips a year to Edinburgh and was getting tired of staying in hotels. I was also coming by myself and wanted to be centrally located to "everything". However, had my husband and other two children come with me, in addition to all of us enjoying the location, this apartment would have been a perfect fit for us. This charming apartment allowed me to have a "home away from home" and I used the gourmet kitchen to host a small dinner party. I asked Morris for an electric handheld mixer so I could make a cake (I brought my own pans) and he graciously provided it from another property he manages. It was also a treat to fix light breakfasts and lunches for myself and provide a temporary getaway for my daughter from the college life. Because of it's location I was able to finally explore New Town and discover it's restaurants, boutiques and museums while being close enough to Old Town and the University when I needed to quickly pop over and visit my child. For great meals I didn't have to walk far - I particularly enjoyed The Living Room which is literally a few steps around the corner. I also took advantage of the private gardens that are easily accessible down the street for a quick visit when I needed some greenery . To me the city is easily walkable so I didn't use public transportation (the occasional taxi at night) but I did use the tram, which is close by on Princes Street, to get back to the airport when it was, sadly, time to leave. I would highly recommend this apartment and look forward to returning one day soon.

Romantic and Homey Space

This is a romantic space with an optimal location for exploring Old Town. In the immediate vicinity of George Street and North Castle, you have a variety of restaurants and bars that are just a quick walk away. Cafe Andaluz (Spanish tapas), Tantra (upscale Indian), or the Queens Arms for a quick pint, the selections were plentiful. For the space itself, you had to climb a few sets+ of stairs to get into the flat, so prepare yourself if you have a lot of luggage. We managed this fine. When you first walk in, you will notice the space being homey, but with some wear. Other reviews have pointed out that some of the space looks a bit dated, but we didn’t mind that. However, the carpet was interesting, some burlap material that clung to your socks. I’d say that the carpet was the only real gripe we had, but this was super minor. The space has a full kitchen and living room. The kitchen had everything you would need to whip up a quick meal, or do a load of laundry. The living room had a a television with plenty of places to sit. The bathroom included a large tub, a shower, heated floors, and a towel warming rack. We thought the floor got a bit too hot right outside of the shower door, and noticed that over time the hot water would diminish quite quickly. Though, there is a way to turn the heat down on the floor, but response time was slow. If planned correctly, you can abate any loss of hot water through a spaced out showering schedule. All in all, even with some of these minor issues, we would stay in this space again, and would recommend anyone to book here. The host is very kind, prompt, and clear with instructions. Whenever I find myself in the great city of Edinburgh again, I’ll be sure to stay here on North Castle Street!

Everything we needed was close, the flat was beautiful and very comfortable! So much to do and shop for. Our host was very responsive when we had a question. Definitely recommend!

The location of this property is absolutely superb, situated right in the heart of the city with most of the attractions within walking distance. The property itself is large and full of character with a well equipped kitchen and Morris the host is very obliging and quick to respond to any questions you may have. The position of the property overlooking George Street can be noisy on an evening but it must be said that we stayed in the property during festival time and whilst Oasis fans were in the city. Normally we wouldn't expect it to be too bad. Everything in the property was spotlessly clean although some areas (window frames and small bedroom) could do with a little decorating. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay in this property and would recommend it to anyone who wants to be in the centre of all the action which Edinburgh has to offer.

Beautiful New Town residence. Very convenient to shopping and all sites. The kitchen provided everything needed and the beds were very comfortable. Made for a very relaxing stay!

Skip the Hotel!

Outstanding location in New Town and a short walk to Old Town and to/from the train station (15 min) and the tram (10 min). Tons of room, including the bathroom. Super clean and comfy. Much better value than any hotel room.

Loved this property! Very spacious and comfortable while also feeling luxurious. Morris was great with communication and was incredibly helpful. Location was fantastic. 10/10 - no notes. Would definitely stay again.

I'm interested in all things literary and so when this apartment came on the market in 2001, I was excited by the fact that it sits just across the road from Sir Walter Scot's Edinburgh townhouse and on the other side of the street from the birth place of 'Wind in the Willow's' author, Kenneth Grahame. of course, that's not forgetting that the apartment has unprecedented, stunning views of Edinburgh Castle and is in an excellent, central location for shopping, restaurants and culture - especially during The International Edinburgh Festival!

The end of August is the finale of The Edinburgh International Festival and there is the most spectacular fire works display from the castle ramparts (unprecedented views from the apartment windows) with live orchestral accompaniment by The Scottish Chamber Orchestra. The apartment provides probably the best view in town of this spectacular event and whilst the music can be heard being played live from across the road in Princes Street gardens, I always amp the sound by tuning in live to the local radio station. So it's a great opportunity for a night to remember and for entertaining etc. Here's some of the details from their site:
