Fantastic place!

Our family of three generations all stayed at Sandhaven comfortably and loved our time there! Clean house, stocked kitchen, great views, easy access to the beach, comfortable beds, great location. Would definitely stay here again!

Great location close to Center St and right on the beach. Plenty space for between 6-10 to sleep comfortably. We would definitely stay again.

Great location.

Perfect location and spacious home. Well stocked with dishes and cookware. Air conditioner struggled to keep up, but was bearable with it being fall. Summer would be a different story. Will definitely rent this house again!

Comfortable oceanfront home

Walking in to that open space does not disappoint! The view is incredible and the access to the beach is perfect. If you like lived-in, comfortable accommodations, then this is the place for you. If you prefer new, pristine places, then you should look elsewhere. The blinds and windows need some maintenance, the rusted vent covers and cabinet hinges need to be replaced and the stained chair needs to go but all very minor things that didn't impact our stay. Lots of room - looked like it used to be a duplex. We loved it and would rent it again. Vacasa was also wonderful - very communicative and attentive during our stay.

Location - Sunshine & seaside

Beach time for a large family! Easy stroll to beach, sunscreen, towel & sunglasses is all you need to enjoy a day in the sand! House is a place to relax and enjoy time with family! You will need to bring the beach gear - beach games Chairs cooler towels tarp or umbrellas Nothing fancy but all you will need for a seaside vacation spot!

Property does not match pictures on website

The pictures do not look like the property. There was a LOT of mold on the living room ceiling, paint peeling off ceiling in a bedroom and the living room, water stains on living room ceiling, slip covers on furniture ripped and unsightly, additional sofa and chairs in living room that were not pictured and made room look too crowded. Notified management company of mold, etc, provided pictures, no one contacted us. DO NOT rent this property.

Great place - needs only a tweak or two

Great place and outstanding location - very clean and simple - we like simple - no grill should have meant at least a broiling pan, and had sleeping for 9 and steak knives for 7, so a few thoughtful tweaks would take what I call a 4.8 really to a full 5 - thanks!

Great beach & location! House is ok but needs screens on patio doors & some windows.

Overall loved the location and house was good size and well supplied. House could use a few repairs mainly patio door screens and windows. Furniture in family room could also use a good cleaning.

Nice home limited ocean view

Home is clean but bring your own trash bags! It’s right on the ocean but the ocean view is blocked by solid deck railing.

Beautiful beach front home

This home is definitely perfect for a big family with 5 bedrooms and with 3 on one side other 2 on the other side you could make an adult side and a kid side . Would recommend picking up a few cheap chairs for the beach area or deck if you have a bigger family as there was only 3 chairs . Beds were very comfortable and plenty of pillows and towels. Bathrooms could use updating and pots and pans but overall the rest good. Outside deck is huge could use some work and I’m not a fan of the seating bench around it as it blocks the view of the ocean . Definitely a ton of furniture for living room area . Overall we had a good time and had plenty of room .

Just The Right House For Our Trip

For two couples it was more than enough space and had all the features we wanted and needed. Great location. Among the many great reviews we reflected on negative comments made by a few other renters and found that none of these issues (a small amount of ceiling paint peeling and the porch bench height) mattered to us. The rooms were all very nice and as a couple who used to live in a similar home on Folly Beach long ago we recognized we'd found a true "beach house" with it's few and very little blemishes and much more charm to compensate. Anyone who has ever lived or spent much time at the beach knows there is always something to work on - always a next project. So kudos to the owners for making this a wonderful family home.

Nice place, need a little TLC

The overall property was very nice and clean for the most part, however the bathrooms had mold on the ceilings, and some water damage as well in the living room, could use a paint job in an upkeep. The deck was very nice to sit on, however the wood planks have nails that are coming up and can be dangerous for people so I would suggest replacing some boards and making sure they are fastened properly

Amazing location, decent house

There were alot of bad reviews on this house. I'm guessing the floors got redone since most of those. The rest of the house was nice, and nicer than many other we've stayed in. Yes the outside patio was a little rough, mostly the bench. But with the beach right there, we didn't spend any time on the patio. Wasn't crowded, and we were happy with the stay. Communication was a little spotty, but overall ok. We only used half the house, but had no issues. We were given all kitchen and bathroom basics. The only complaint we had was there was no info on when to put trash out, and cans were a little hidden off to the side. Worst problem we had was the cooking pans were horrible and the 1 spatula was pretty much unusable and disgusting. I would purchase a handfull of dollar store spatulas and replace them every other tenant. So that being said, we would stay there again without any hesitation. Great place!

Vacationer Beware

To start, I did read a lot of the reviews before booking, but this property was the last property available for the dates I needed it, and there is a very good reason this property was the last available. Every single negative review was spot on. The management company has not made even one improvement. Black mold on the ceiling that’s seriously water damaged, peeling and even a nice little half effort paint job to cover I’m assuming water damage/mold. Back patio is sketchy, lots of damaged boards and bowing wood, be very careful where you walk. The most appalling was a piece of furniture that was completely destroyed and stained, I am absolutely mind blown that someone leaves it on the property, it looks as if they found it at a crime scene and took it home. No one would sit on this chair and it gave an unsettling feeling about the other furniture. I’m not really sure what exactly they’re are cleaning in between bookings bc the bathroom was dirty, hair on the walls and back porch f the door, cupboards in the kitchen were sticky, and you could see dirty hand prints EVERYWHERE, on every door, handle, furniture, walls, everywhere. The room I stayed in looked to have had an accident where someone spilled coffee or some other brown substance down the wall, it was the first thing I noticed walking in so I cannot fathom how house keeping missed it. I took pictures of everything and will be escalating this to ensure it’s not used until it isn’t a hazard and properly cleaned.

Great location snd good house

The house is good. It is smaller than it looks in the photos but that is fine. Here are some things that weren't great. I read other reviews that complained about this too. What is with the toilet paper? Charge $2 more if you have to but have more than 2 of those cheapest rolls for four people. We had to go buy toilet paper on day 2. The house SHAKES. It shakes when the wind blows hard, it shakes when someone 200 lbs walks across the room. Get some two by fours and cross the pilings underneath. It is very unsettling. For the porch, please buy a few taller chairs or let people know that you cannot sit on the porch in a normal chair and see over the bench that surrounds the entire porch. And the bench forces your back to the ocean. This is an easy fix and the porch is nice otherwise! In the bedroom to the right when you walk in, please please fix it so the AC unit does not rattle the entire window in that bedroom. I got not one good night's sleep because of that. It is loud. Other than that, the house in good. The den especially has lots of comfy seating and the beach views are fantastic from inside and if you stand up on the porch. Might want to invest $15 in at least stainless steel cheapo pot that does not have teflon scraping off into your food. Just some super tiny modiciations would make this house an absolute gem. Good distance to Bert's and everything else. We had a great time. Please at least swiffer the floors. We know no one did before our stay.

Great House!!!

Perfect for what we needed! A lot of the amenities were on their last leg. Some of the blinds didn’t work and things were just outdated and the floor was pretty dirty with dirt and sand. However - this house is great!! Amazing location, stunning oceanfront views, great beach access! Holds a lot of people. The amenities could use some updating but other than that it’s an amazing house, highly recommend!! :)

Beautiful home and perfect location

We could not have picked a better house for our girls weekend! The location is unreal...it's right on the beach with a private entrance to the sand :) It's a little far from downtown Charleston, but it was easy to schedule Ubers to get in and out of downtown. We had a minor issue with the stove light constantly being on, and the property manager answered quickly and swiftly, and was able to send us portable burners to cook with to be safe. I would definitely book this house again!
