The Fleetwing cottage is a charming beach cottage with a private dock during the summer months right on the shore of peaceful Garrett Bay. Named the Fleetwing after the shipwreck by that name that is right off your private pier The Fleetwing cottage is tucked in a private, setting with beautiful views of Door Bluff. The Fleetwing is completely remodeled with 3 bedrooms (one with air-conditioning) and 2 baths, also super fast internet access, an ideal vacation home for a large family. A magnificent fireplace makes cool evenings a pleasure, or enjoy eating outside on the stone patio. There is a private dock (summer season) for sunning, swimming or enjoying sunsets, also a firepit on the beach for evening fires. Pets and kids are welcome! You are a bluff away from Gills Rock and great eating at the Shoreline or a ferry ride to Washington Island. Ellison Bay is a 3 minute drive away with coffee shops, Pioneer store and three restaurants offering curbside or outdoor and indoor eating.

Enjoyed our time on Garrett Bay. The views and beach were spectacular; the house was clean besides some moths/spiders; but that is to be expected for a lakeside home. Linens, kitchen, and bathrooms were tidy and had what we needed! We came for the water access and were not disappointed!

Great place for a group!

The property is amazing! The waterfront space is so peaceful and gorgeous, the yard overlooks this space which is super nice! We had multiple friends stay so we all had a bed and the two full bathrooms was a life saver to get ready in! The location is perfect for keeping a peaceful trip in Door County off the busier areas. We loved how close food options were and the sand beaches. Definitely recommend and would go again!

Beautiful and peaceful

We loved our stay. The cabin has a beautiful view of the lake. Although it felt very private and secluded it was a short drive to Sister Bay. We were very comfortable.

Wonderful Lakehouse, Amazing Location!

Such a beautiful, quiet, private location! The Fleetwing has everything you need for a weekend (or longer) getaway, we were very comfortable. Property Manager Jen is great! She was very helpful and responsive throughout our stay. I highly recommend this property, and I just can't say enough about the location!

Quiet and relaxing stay and dog friendly allowed us to take the whole family. Enjoyed waking up to the view of the water and the sunrises and sunsets. Location was amazing also

Great location near tip of peninsula!

Great views of Garrett Bay (In Lake Michigan)! Interesting one-level cottage, so no stairs. Comfortable beds and plenty of supplies (toilet paper, salt & pepper, zip-lock bags, towels, firewood, etc). Hostess was very responsive to requests.

Cozy Cottage

The views are spectacular! So relaxing with the water And waves rolling in. If you want a secluded and nature filled vacation this is the spot! You can also head into the busier towns for shopping and restaurants. The owners are wonderful people!

Heaven by the Lake!

From the check in process to the check out process, Jen was amazing! The place was beautiful and the view magnificent!! We spent most of our days hiking the local state parks and spent the evenings cooking and having a few by the fire. What a great place to stay!!

Family Memories Made

The cottage is so cozy. The outdoor space is beyond amazing, we spent almost all our time outside. A fire pit, beachfront, and pier allowed us to make so many memories. And family game nights at the kitchen table were a hit! The cottage was exactly as pictured and did not disappoint at all!! We definitely hope to be back next year.

Lake serenity

We were looking for a place that would remind us of the quiet of the cabin in Canada owned by our family. This location nailed it. Quiet location, gorgeous view, loons, ducks, deer. A wonderful opportunity to decompress away from hubub of life, but civilization was only a short drive away. The host helped us resolve a typo on the VRBO typo. We are planning to use this location again.

Ellison Bay Cottage 05/26/23 Stay

The VRBO cottage was very nice. Everything was as advertised. Beautiful waterfront property, very private location for a very comfortable stay. Ellison Bay 5 minute drive, Sister Bay 12 minute drive to many things to do if you do not want to relax by the outside fire pit with friends. Property manager went above and beyond.

Wonderful Stay

What else can I say other than I love Door County and I love staying at this property. The Fleetwing is a nice quaint cottage, literally on the shore of Lake Michigan. Being close to the water is a must-have when I stay in Door County, and this year I was entertained by watching some pretty amazing waves. The area is quiet and there are lots of options close by for enjoying nature (another must-have for me). Jen is a great host and I hope to stay at the Fleetwing again!

Perfect Location!

The property owner was very communicative and friendly. We were drawn to the property by the lakefront access and it did not disappoint. There were kayaks for guest to use so we spent the afternoon kayaking and hanging out by the pier. For the price, it was really a great deal. We also loved that the property felt secluded but was a short drive to the Sister Bay action. I highly recommend this property if you are looking to connect with nature and still have access to all the fun things Sister Bay has to offer.

Interesting property!

Well equipped kitchen! Nice bathrooms! I have to say the place was not clean and had a terrible musty odor when we arrived. After we got a fire going the smoke covered up that odor and probably dried the place out! Beautiful view of the lake! I felt like the price was very high for the condition of the property!

Wonderful location and quiet

This is my second stay at one of Jen's properties and it did not disappoint! Super location on the quiet, northern end of Door County. The cottage is literally steps from the beach, which makes this property really special. The weather was cool and super windy during my stay, so watching the waves every day was an event in itself. The pier was pulled out for the season, but I didn't need it since there is a nice wood deck/patio that sits right at the beach. There is also a nice stone patio with picnic table and other chairs right off the back (or is it front?) door for enjoying the water. Wish I could have enjoyed the outside fire pit, but it was too windy. A quiet location is high on my list of "must haves" when I go to Door County, and this cottage filled my need. It's set off the road a bit, which is really nice. There are other cottages close by, but it still feels quite private. The only reason I didn't give Fleetwing 5 stars is that the cottage is showing its age a bit, and a few things could use updating (stove, refrigerator, door locks, for example). But the bathrooms were clean and updated, which ranks high on my list. :-) Overall, it's a very nice property in a great location with a great water view. I'm very happy with my stay, and I hope to stay again. Jen is a great host, and her properties are always the first I check for availability!

Garrett Bay Cottage

The view is spectacular. We saw pelicans and egrets. You will need the insect repellent Jen makes available. In the evening what appears to be biting flies come out. We were still able to make s’mores. Jen was quick to respond to my questions. There was plenty of room for five adults and a six year old. Fleetwing cottage is exactly as described.

Great place to stay with a beautiful view

We like the "quieter" side of door county when we stay. This is a great place to stay right on the lake. Super quiet and convenient for the 2 dogs we brought. 5 minutes away from Sister Bay. We will definitely stay again. Great host! Quick with answers to questions.

Peaceful getaway

It was so peaceful to wake up to waves rolling in from the lake. The house was a perfect set-up for myself and my adult granddaughter who was celebrating her 23rd birthday. Jen was very helpful and communicative and gave me some good advice about the restaurant I intended to visit for a birthday dinner. Fall at the tip of Door County is beautiful and we enjoyed every minute. My granddaughter would like to come back next year with her friends!
