The Greenwing Lodge, located in Venice, Louisiana, offers the ideal getaway for avid hunters and fisherman. Venice is a sportsman's paradise that combines superb offshore fishing with world-class hunting and excellent inshore fishing action along Louisiana's wild coastline. The lodge is located in Venice Marina which is home to many charter fishing tours. Greenwing Lodge amenities include 5 bunk beds, pullout sofa, 500 lb./day ice machine, chest freezer, electric grill, cleaning station and finger pier to dock boat.

Amazing little house boat and a great place to stay. Really enjoyed it and would highly recommend for any group that just needs a place to rest your heads air conditioner works great

Fun stay

Place was very clean and organized. Recently updated, everything was appealing to the eye at first glance(one could nitpick the upgrades, but that’s not what we were there for). We did not like that the stovetop was cracked when we arrived, and we were not warned ahead of time (we planned to cook, but ended up eating at the restaurant in the marina most meals-it was fantastic). The houseboat was in a great location close to the marina. It was easy to access and the fishing was impressive. Host of the house messaged back quickly. Husband and I felt like this is a perfect spot for a group style vacation or family traveling with kids. The bunks are nice and would accommodate a larger group. Would stay here again.

Don’t expect much.

A no frills rustic fishing cabin, is one thing. This place is much below expectations. Broken stove, no heat, running toilet. Much better options are available in the area.

Houseboat is just as listed. Made for a great stay. Spent most of the day on the bot fishing but was a great place to crash after.

Great Place for Sportsmen

Great place to stay. Very clean, excellent dock for boat and everything a fisherman or hunter needs. Had a problem with the hot water but the property owner quickly resolved the issue. Looking forward to staying their again.

Venice fishing get away

Nothing fancy but everything you need! The ice machine is a big perk and being able to pull your boat right up to the house. I would most definitely stay here again.

The houseboat was clean and had everything we needed for 3 fishermen just wanting to a place to sleep for the night. The main drawback was that it was difficult for us older guys to board the boat from the dock. I would suggest a ramp from the dock to the boat like many of the other houseboats have.

Not clean

Houseboat located in Venice Marina. Did not expect anything fancy at this price point, but I always expect a rental to be clean. The sofa smelled of urine. The camp had not been properly cleaned as there was trash and dead roaches on the floor. There was no TV service nor internet service as described. Thankfully the beds were clean and A/C worked…which is the only positive thing I can say. Messaged host the moment we arrived about the issues but did not receive any response until many hours later. Would not recommend

There is no hot water, the shower head had no mount and just hung from the water supply tube attached to the wall. There was a hole in the interior door. There were no instructions on accessing Wi-fi (if available) or using the television. The sheets smelled unclean. There was no shampoo or soap for the shower. Finding the unit was difficult. The dock in back was unstable. The back door did not lock and could be accessed by anyone from the adjacent docks.

Insulting Communication

The location of the property is good with access to the marina and boats can come directly to the rental. The property has an unsafe step down from the dock to the doorstep of about a foot. The amenities are good with all appliances. The property had a couple items that were not working, first the internet and second the shower was leaking from the shower head. I sent a message to the property owner first about the internet and he responded he would send someone in the morning to fix. No one showed up and when I contacted the housekeeper she said she was unable to get there. No response from the property owner. I asked him to fix the shower head as I did not want water spraying out of the shower, very important after a hot day of fishing. He never responded. We used the shower best we could. I messaged him after our stay asking him if he wanted to discuss prior to my leaving a review and his response was, “ it's a fishing camp and I live 3 hours away. Are you a man or a or a habitual complainer.” (copied from the response). I don’t consider it a complaint to ask if they can fix a broken shower or a non functioning internet service. Response also commented, “ I don't control when a Fortune500 satellite service goes down, nor when a shower head happens to springs a leak, which is what they are designed to do.” I replied that a shower head is important. Had the owner responded and apologized for the inconvenience I would have been ok but I can’t accept an insult. I liked the rental for what it is but I would not expect anything beyond what you get, even if it is listed as an amenity and not functioning. Very rude response from someone I am giving money to.
