Renovated historic charmer in the middle of town! Awesome location!

***Seasonal Note: During peak season (June through August) we only allow Saturday to Saturday rentals. Please shoot us a note if you need a shorter stay and we can chat! ***

Our home is a beautiful 1920s Victorian cottage that has been completely renovated. The home is a 3 Bedroom/3 full Bathrooms (sleeps 9). You’ll walk into a space bathed in natural light with an open concept floor plan for your family to enjoy.

The best part: we are right in the heart of town- just a block from Central Park (if you want to enjoy a summer concert or the playground), a 1.5 block walk to Mason St, the historic downtown, and 4 blocks to the beach!

Our home, Seas the Bay, is located in the heart of Cape Charles on Peach Street. You’ll walk up to a spacious front porch with ample seating, complete with a porch swing to enjoy your morning coffee or a good book. You’ll enter the home with a NEST keyless entry and be greeted by a spacious foyer and living area.

Downstairs....
The living room has a smart TV (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc) with a large sectional for everyone to relax. The entire house has full and fast WiFi. You’ll walk through the living room and into the open concept dining room/kitchen space which has been completely renovated. The dining table seats 6, with 2 additional seats at the kitchen bar. The kitchen has updated appliances, a beautiful farmhouse sink, a full coffee station with drip coffee, as well as a Keurig and complimentary coffee, a instant tea kettle, dishwasher, and the list goes on. The area is spacious and built with families in mind.

Off the kitchen there is a full bathroom with a shower. There is also a full laundry room. The home has tankless hot water- so everyone can enjoy a nice hot shower after a full day at the beach. There is a second set of “secret stairs” (as our kids call it) that lead to the 2nd floor.

French doors open off the dining room to a shaded back patio, a propane grill, and plenty of seating to relax. Our shed has a beach wagon, beach chairs, umbrellas, and sand toys for guests to use during their stay. There is also a Radio Flyer wagon to pull kiddos or gear!

Upstairs...
You’ll walk upstairs to a bright, spacious master bedroom with a brand new king bed and a private bathroom with shower. (Plenty of extra room for a pack and play or air mattress if needed). ***All bedrooms have black-out curtains and sound machines***

The 2nd bedroom has a King bed, ceiling fan, exposed brick, and large closet.

The 3rd bedroom is the “bunk room” and a kiddo’s dream. It has two sets of bunks (3 twins and 1 full). It is bright and colorful and built with summer sleepovers in mind!

The 4th “bonus room” is a loft area with another full bathroom (tub/shower). There is a twin daybed and a TV with DVD player for the kids to curl up with a movie after a long day of building sand castles. (Plenty of room here for a pack and play or air mattress). This space also has a dedicated work space with a desk and desk chair if you have to work during your stay.

All linens provided, including beach towels, hand towels, bath towels, wash cloths, etc.

HVAC throughout the entire home. Dual zone upstairs/downstairs.

Amazing Property
We've been coming to Cape Charles for four years and this was our favorite property to date. Amazing house, had everything we needed and good quality (some places stock with cheap rental versions of things and this was definitely not that!). Parking spot for golf cart was AMAZING. One day we had an issue with the AC unit upstairs and Dru was PROMPT in getting someone out to repair!! Location was perfect - right down the street from the park which has a great playground my toddler loved. My only thing to note about the layout of the space is if you have a small kid/baby sleeping in the loft, you can't really use the upstairs bathroom for fear of waking them up (which I did - woops!). Thankfully there's another full bathroom in the primary room upstairs and downstairs has a full bath (and outdoor shower!) so not really an issue at all! Stocked shed too with wagons, chairs, beach toys, etc. Thanks for a great week!

Wonderful Week at Seas the Bay!
My family (2 adults and 2 boys ages 6 and 9) had a wonderful week in Cape Charles at this beautiful property. It is the PERFECT location for exploring all the town has to offer, especially with kids. Just a quick hop to the playground or to the restaurants and shops. Did we get Peach Beach 3 times? Yes. Yes, we did. No regrets. The beach is an easy walk or golf cart ride away. The house had everything we could have possibly needed and more. We would not hesitate to rent it again if we are lucky enough to find that it’s available for our dates.

Dru was an amazing host! When we had questions, she was quick to respond and had a little welcome bag and note upon our arrival. The house was clean and had a lot of toys, picture books, and an amazing shed full of beach toys/chairs/games. The golf cart driveway and easy charging station were a huge help and the multiple outdoor spaces made this ideal for our family. We settled right in and had the best time.

Perfect weekend!
This was our second time staying in "Seas the Bay" and we were even more impressed (which we didn't think was possible). The house is extremely well furnished, very clean, and hospitable. Communication with the hosts is easy and they were very concerned with ensuring that we have everything we need. Great location as well. Of all the many houses we've stayed in through VRBO and other companies (here in the States and overseas), this is our favorite!

Hi, I'm Dru! We are VRBO hosts of Seas the Bay, a renovated 1920s Victorian cottage in Cape Charles, Virginia on the Eastern Shore. We are a family of 4, with two young boys. We fell in love with Cape Charles during a summer vacation, and now try to spend as much time as possible in this awesome place. There is truly no place like Cape Charles!

Seas the Bay is an incredible blend of historic charm and modern amenities. The home was built in 1920 and is on the Historic Registry, but every room has been completely renovated and restored. We were able to preserve many of the charming things about a 1920s Victorian (original bricks columns and original wood floors), but add in great touches like an open concept floor plan, Central Heat and AC, tankless hot water, super fast WiFi and a completely updated kitchen. Come visit us and see why we fell in love with this house and this town!

Our two favorite things about the house:
1. The back staircase leading to the upstairs loft. It just screams historical charm, and even has the original 1920's door. Our children call these stairs the "secret stairs" and they enjoy having their own private entry up to their room.
2. The front porch. We made sure to include ample seating and an adorable front porch swing. There is no better spot to meet the locals, enjoy a cup of coffee, curl up with a book from Peach Street Books, or toast a cold Cape Charles Brewing Company beer at the end of a hot day at the beach.
