Building Spalling work to begin January 13 and last approximately 8 months. Work hours are Monday – Friday (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM), excluding weekends and federal holidays. Noisy work, such as jackhammering and grinding, can be expected during work hours.
February 3 – 21, 2025, pool deck and swimming pool area will be closed during work hours (Mon-Fri; 8a-430p)

**THIS IS A LEGAL VACATION RENTAL** Alohana at Palms Waikiki 424 is a renovated studio with a sleek contemporary look. This studio can accommodate up to 4 Guests with 1 King size bed and one Full size sofa bed.. Desk with office chair provides the perfect set-up for business travelers. In-room conveniences include a Mini-fridge, Microwave, Coffee Maker, Flat Screen TV/Cable, Free WIFI, Air Conditioning and Free Parking.

Enjoy the amenities of Palms Waikiki with Shared Pool, Sundeck, and BBQ Area. Along with on-site Fitness Center and Coin-Operated Laundry and located in the Lobby is an IHOP Restaurant.

The unit is located in the Palms at Waikiki, a well-managed Boutique Condotel in Waikiki. Ideally located just across the street from the Hilton Hawaiian Village, lagoon and ocean! Just a couple of blocks from Hawaii Convention Center, Ala Moana Beach Park and Magic Island, with numerous beach and ocean activities and great dining options in the area. Short walk to the famous Waikiki Beach!

Spacious studio

I was pleasantly surprised. Location is great and walkable to beach, restaurants, mall. City bus stop is handy and inexpensive to get around. I enjoyed sitting on the sunny lanai and watching people. The Hilton is across the street which offers entertainment , stores, and a lagoon open to anyone. The only suggestion to the host is to provide some drinking glasses. The room has been remodeled , however the couch should be replaced. There is a nice pool on the second floor and a parking space for a car. I recommend the place.

Gut ausgestattetes Appartement mit einem Parkplatz fur sehr grosse Autos. Waschmaschine und Trockner im Gebäude, leicht mit Kreditkarte zu zahlen. Wir haben uns fast drei Wochen sehr wohl gefühkt.

MINIMUM ITEMS

This property was not gorgeous. It was just ok. It smelled musty, like it needed a deep clean. The carpets were very worn. We were there for 10 days and only had 4 towels, not enough. We washed the bedding and saw how grossly stained the matress pad was. PLEASE replace that! We had to drink our wine from a coffee cup, because the choice was that or a large plastic class. Yuk. Maybe some wine glasses could be better. We were really surprised that we hsd no kitchen sink. We washed dishes in the bathroom. Also the laundry washers were disgusting! I think they just sweep the floor and call it good. I think I'm done. Otherwise, the only thing that was worth the stay, was the location.

Everything I needed

The location was amazing -10 min walk from the beach and 5 min walk from McDonald’s. The property had 24/7 laundry room, a small exercise room, a swimming pool, a bbq grill, and a coffee vending machine. Inside the room there was everything we needed: a hair dryer, a mini fridge, a microwave, dishes and utensils, 4 sets of towels including beach towels, and even a mop. We had parking and were very comfortable with everything. There was only one thing that bothered us - the lock on the bathroom door didn’t work and my 12 year old niece walked on my 13 year old son getting changed and was a little traumatized.

Clean and comfortable

We enjoyed our 11 night stay to the fullest. Great room with a very comfortable bed. Clean and the balcony was nice to hang out on and watch all the activity in Waikiki. We used the pool more this time than last and it was not crowded at all. Will stay here again for sure.

I could detect the smell of cigarettes when we first entered the room. Otherwise, the room was clean. I enjoyed the view from our balcony overlooking Ala Moana Blvd and Ft Derussy. We could see Diamond Head and the Waikiki Skyline. We had reserved parking, but driving up the steep ramp to the parking spot was a bit nerve racking. Staff was courteous and helpful. Lots of dining options within walking distance. Close to Waikiki strip, Ala Moana, and Convention Center.

Not likely to return to this unit

The VRBO management were excellent. Without them our stay would have as pleasant. The property owner should improve on there supplies. Would and should provide wine and drinking glasses. They advertise that the property has ah bar b q but have no dishes, etc to eat off. We have stayed in the hotel several times and know what to expect.

Convenient

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is great to walk to food or the beach. There are 5 convenience stores with in a 2 min walk for adult beverages, snacks and souvenirs. We had a car and really appreciate being able to come and go and not pay every time we parked. Room was perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids (7 and 4). The only negatives was that the bathroom is tight (door barely clears the toilet) but manageable and there was no actual silverware in our room. The kids had to use a big serving spoon to eat their microwave Mac and cheese. We did have to contact management for normal small things a few times and they we quick to respond. Overall we really enjoyed this property and would definitely use it again.

Hotel is a dump

I've stayed in a cleaner Motel 6. The carpet in our room, and all throughout the hotel, looked like the original carpet installed 50+ years ago when the hotel was built. The elevator had duct tape covering cracks on its floor. Broken ice machines. Stairwell inside of garage reeked of filth and was covered in black goop, including the door handles. The sliding glass door in our unit didn't slide at all bc it was off the track it wouldn't lock. The 1/4" gap allowed heat from the outside to seep into our room. The iron was rusted inside its steam holes and almost ruined dress shirt. Ironing pad was covered in rust as well. The hotel wouldn't let us borrow an iron (was going to a wedding) bc it's a VRBO unit so they don't own it. Hairdryer smelled like it was burning out. Towels rough as sandpaper. Even though the unit has a microwave, there were NO plates or utensils to use, only 1 plastic bowl and 3 plastic cups, a can opener, bottle opener and a large plastic cooking spoon. When I called the property management company, she told me that bc it's not technically a kitchenette, they're not required to have plates and silverware, and the other stuff must have been left by previous renters. Although, she did bring us a new iron, cheap hair dryer and ironing board cover. Mattress felt like a hammock. Mold on shower liner. Plus, the hotel was not in a very desirable part of town. Don't recommend this hotel or unit to anyone.

We stayed here over the xmas/new year holiday and the location was great for NYE fireworks and getting around generally. Would der consider coming back.

Good place

It was a nice cool place in a hotel. Elevators may be slow but it was perfect for people who are renting a car. Nothing beats the free parking spot. Thank you for letting me stay.

Well worth the money

Not needing some crazy fancy overpriced digs for vacation, we searched many properties. This one fit our bill and price range better than we thought! Space was super clean. Reserved parking so no headache. Gorgeous views. Had a problem with AC unit one night, fixed next day. ONLY grudge is mattress on fold out is tooo thin.

Great stay

The unit is in a great location with easy access to everything. Not having to pay exorbitant parking fees and "resort fees" was a real bonus. The unit was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly.

Waikiki family visit

The room was not as advertised. In need of deep cleaning and repair. The in room safe doesn't work, the iron is severely rusted and leaks, there's mold on the shower curtain, a hole in the wall in the bed area and there's gunk hanging from the bathroom exhaust fan. The front desk staff was very good and the location is convenient if you looking to hit different locations in waikiki and Honolulu.

I really enjoyed my stay here. You can walk about 10 minutes down to the beach past the Hilton resorts. The area also has shopping and abc stores so you can walk down and grab essentials. You get one reserved parking spot which is very convenient if you rented a car, it’s nice to know you have unlimited in/out privileges. My only complaint is probably the elevators. They take forever to go up or down, especially if one is under maintenance or for maintenance usage only. Taking the stairs from 4th floor down is the fastest when you want to come down. Going up… is not bad either to use the stairs if you don’t have any bags with you but if you have the patience the elevator will eventually come..and when it does, it’s usually full and packed to the rim. Overall, great location. Clean room. Easy access. Free reserved parking.
