Fifty Acres of woods and meadows

The proverbial country farmhouse, tucked way back off the road on 50 plus acres of open meadow and mature forest complete with year round stream and walking trails. Secluded setting yet only a few minutes from the village of Saugerties and the NYS Thruway for easy access to NYC or Albany. One level living with a nice chefs kitchen, very comfy living room, two very sweet bedrooms with queen beds and a third laundry room with a futon. Excellent place to call home base while you explore the wonders of Ulster County. You're going to need some time to see the local sites like Minnewaska and Mohonk, not to mention the endless miles of hiking trails here in the Catskills. The eclectic villages of Saugerties and Woodstock are nearby and are full of side walk shops and yummy restaurants. Saugerties is well known for it's many events such as HITS, yearly car shows and the Garlic Festival. Two beautiful ski resorts are nearby called Hunter and Windham and the mighty Hudson River is just to our east. Try to find some time to explore the Walkway over the Hudson and the many mansions on the east side of the Hudson such as Vanderbuilt and Mills. Find time for a meal at the Culinary Institute or the Mohonk Mtn House. Bring your bikes and your walking shoes to explore the countless miles of re-claimed rail trails here. Plan on some long days out and about followed by some great meals and some r+r time at home base. Better add a couple days to the plans!!

This is the second summer we've stayed at this property. Love the secluded location and the property is really fun with the dogs. Outdoor spaces are great - the porch with BBQ, the fire pit, chairs under the tree or out in the field. Big kitchen with good equipment.Ron the property manager is great & easy to work with.

Very pleasant stay

Comfortable house and lovely yard. Great place for my puppies. Even had some entertainment watching the animals at the adjacent farm. Easy drive from HITS.

Memorable Family Weekend

Fantastic property that enhanced an exciting family graduation celebration weekend! The house is very well cared for and updated, super clean, and in a great off main road location that makes it very relaxing. The kitchen is very well laid out, large, and stocked with everything you need to cook. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the evenings and mornings. A really fantastic place for a family stay!

Excellent for work and play

We had a wonderful stay at the property for a long weekend that was part business trip and part vacation. We even got to watch some wild turkeys roaming around while we were there.

Perfect Getaway

This was a great house in a great location. It sits on a beautiful rural property but is 2 miles from town. From this spot, it is easy to get to great restaurants, boutique and gallery shopping, historical sights, or some awesome hiking trails. The house was very clean, had an amazing kitchen and bathroom... and comfortable beds as well. From the bald eagles and hawks flying overhead to the chickens in the yard, it was wonderfully bucolic and relaxing. It was a great place to spend a week of vacation!

Wonderful in Every Way

To say that I loved my weekend stay at Ron's property feels like an understatement. The house was well-equipped (seriously, everything you need is there), spacious, comfortable, and CLEAN. It was an easy 5 min to town, and Woodstock, Kingston, and Hudson were in close proximity too. My dog loved sunning himself on the porch in the morning - something he just doesn't get to do in Brooklyn. Also, the property looked particularly beautiful as the trees and flowers had already started to bloom. I have already recommended Ron's place to friends. Thanks for having me, I'd come back in a heartbeat!

Lovely, Child-Friendly Home

This is an immaculately maintained house on a very large property adjacent to a working farm. Our group (two couples and two toddlers) found the house particularly child-friendly - one floor, few corners or sharps to bump into, very little that’s breakable, some toddler sized chairs and items on site. The check in process was very smooth, and the owner was very accommodating as we adjusted our arrival and departure times. The home is well situated for outings; we were able to get to parks in Saugerties, Woodstock and Kingston very quickly. The only edit I’d make to the listing - which was not noteworthy for us but might be for others - is that the watch dogs on the adjacent property are very dedicated to their work and sometimes bark well into the night/early morning. As a result, it might be useful to have a white noise machine available (we brought some by coincidence because of kiddos) or to note that guests should bring earplugs or a sound machine if they are light sleepers. We would absolutely come back here. I imagine that it’s especially beautiful in the fall or late spring.

Great weekend getaway

My partner and I came for a quick (2hr) trip from NYC and loved this property. The kitchen is immaculate and the soaking tub is to die for. The property is perfectly positioned between Saugrities, Kingston and Woodstock. Our Frenchie had a blast too

Great getaway!

We absolutely loved our time at this lovely home. It’s beautifully decorated and the kitchen and bath are fabulous. It’s perfectly situated right between Saugerties and Woodstock making it easy to get to either town in about 10 min. We absolutely loved staying here and would do it again in a heartbeat. And the host, Ron, was wonderful to communicate with making renting, asking questions and checking in/out a breeze! A delight all around!

Great getaway

We (my husband and 3 small kids + dog) had an awesome stay at this house! It was a great getaway location, close proximity to some fun hikes! The house was very clean and up to date and had everything we needed. When we left my 5 year old son was already asking when we could return!

Perfect getaway for family or couples

With the great kitchen, the nice updated bathroom and living areas, the cows out the window, the privacy, and the great location, it is a great house for a visit. We loved exploring the area and doing tons of local hikes, and then came back and cooked a great meal with the top appliances and everything we needed in the kitchen.. Our dog loved the outdoors. The house is pet friendly without showing any signs of any pet wear and tear. It’s super clean, polished and welcoming and Bruce, who manages the property, is super helpful and friendly. We will look forward to returning soon.

Saugerties Stay

We enjoyed our stay at this property a lot. It is conveniently located close to both Saugerties and Woodstock Villages, with easy access to the highway as well. The house is at the end of a private road and the property is basically shared with an active farm there. This was not evident in the listing, but it was not an issue for us. Still, if you expect a secluded and very private location, this isn't exactly that given the proximity to other residents nearby. The house is very quaint and well appointed, with nice updates and modern conveniences. Everything was in very good working order and clean. Great kitchen and bath, comfortable beds, smart TV with streaming capability, etc. Getting in and out was super easy, Bruce (property manager) was very helpful and we appreciated the flexibility with check in/out times. Safety and security were never a concern. A couple of observations/suggestions: You can hear traffic on the highway at some times, but more importantly, you will definitely hear the trains that run through Saugerties intermittently (including during the middle of the night), so if you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. One of the bedrooms and the laundry room that houses a futon both have very sheer fabric drapes, so once the sun is up, it gets very bright. It would be a nice improvement to see a blackout curtain or darker/thicker fabric used to offer more light protection for those not looking to rise at dawn. One of the things we loved most about this house was the vast wooded property behind it. The mixed hardwood and evergreen forest was beautiful and there are access roads and trails that are easy to follow throughout. We loved exploring with our dog and enjoying the last of the autumn colors. Having said that, there are a lot of deer in the area, and as such, a lot of ticks. We each pulled several off of ourselves after each visit to the woods, including the dog. This shouldn't be a deterrent, but proper safety measures should be taken as well as inspections afterward to be sure. Overall, we had a great stay and it offered us everything we were looking for. Thanks very much!

October stay

We had a wonderful time! We enjoyed the house and found that it was nearby to hiking trails, scenic walks, and apple orchards. Bruce was very responsive and kept in touch with us throughout our stay. He even offered suggestions of places to bring our young daughter. She keeps asking when we can return!

Happy down on the farm

Our stay was great - driveway a little iffy but everything else wonderful. The house and the fire pit and the privacy and the access to the town of Saugerties was fantastic. Thank you Bruce!!!
