The Blue Heron… a newly remodeled charming studio apartment in the historic fishing village of Cortez. Minutes to beaches, restaurants, shopping, and adventure! Many amenities within walking distance. Also many modes of free public transportation. Apartment is completely self-contained with a private entrance, outside lounge area, and parking at the door. Walk to the beach , shopping, convenient store. Bike and golf cart rentals along with bait shops and jet ski , kayaking, boat rentals and fishing charters.

lovely little launching spot

This was truly the perfect spot for exploring Cortez and Anna Maria Island. Beautiful beaches and lots of options for dining within walking distance. The accommodations were quiet, cozy, and clean. I can’t wait to return for another visit.

This little place is amazing. It’s located in a dead end street, close to Cortez Bridge, so it’s close to everything. Amazingly clean, tidy, it even smelled new. Has very good A/C. Many amenities included, more and better than your regular hotel room. Listing is very accurate and communication with the seller is great. Definitely on my return list and will recommend it to friends.

Wonderful Stay

It was an enjoyable stay! The restaurants/beaches/shopping were all within a few minutes from our room! The room was cozy/quiet/had everything we needed! It was very clean & we truly enjoyed our stay & won’t hesitate to book & stay here again if we plan on another trip to the area ❤️🙋‍♀️🌺🌴

Perfect Short Stay

We wanted a couple nights in Crotez prior to a longer stay on the island. We wanted to be able to walk to restaurants in Cortez and have the ability to go over to Bridge Street and the beach. This was perfect! We have already talked about coming back for a longer stay. The beverages and popcorn was a fun little treat. The unit had everything you would need for a stay and was so clean and quiet. We enjoyed sitting outside and having coffee in the morning. Perfect quiet little place for a couple. We will be back!

Cute and Cozy!!

This is our third year staying here. The room is nicely furnished, very clean, quiet, and private. Also, as a bonus the owner provides complimentary coffee, water, sodas, half and half, beach chairs, beach towels, and a cooler. Great restaurants are close by and the beach is across the bridge. I enjoy having my coffee in the cozy outdoor seating area.

Little beach haven!

Just over the Cortez bridge are the most beautiful white sand beaches anywhere!! 10 minutes from Anna Maria Island. Hint: there’s plenty of street parking off the main drag. Park between the green signs. Will definitely stay here from now on whenever we head for the beach!!

Small but cozy!

We had a great stay while we were in Anna Maria Island. The location was perfect, the place was spotless and Hazel was quick to respond with any question we asked. She definitely went above and beyond providing amenities that were very appreciated. Not only did she have coffee for us to enjoy but she left us a new half and half ti use. Thank you Hazel!

Cute Cortez Getwaway

We loved this rental. Very clean. Top notch shower, bed and TV. Cute private sitting area outside. Restaurants and bar within walking distance. Very quiet. We look forward to returning next year.

Hidden Gem

Such a cute little place. It is a converted garage but you would not know it. Outside you have a private sitting area with beautiful palm trees. Inside is very cozy and decorated warmly. Everything you need for your stay. 2 driveways away is a convenience store. 2 blocks to the bridge to Bradenton Beach/Anna Maria Island. Really wonderful!

What an amazing stay!

What a beautiful area and I feel like we struck gold with this room. The room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. All the little details were amazing....there were water, sodas and coffee creamer waiting for us in the refrigerator, the space was well put together. There was a sitting area outside as well. This was the perfect environment to relax in and curl up with a good book or a movie. We were fortunate enough to meet our host Hazel. What a lovely lady. This room is close to the beach, restaurants and shops. Perfect little getaway! thank you Hazel.

As soon as we stepped into the unit we smiled. It was bright and clean. Then it got better with all the thoughtful amenities from our host. A new bag of coffee and a full carton of half & half, cold bottled water and soft drinks. Plenty of towels, body wash,nice shampoo and conditioner. A beach bag with towels and a cooler were also provided, which we greatly appreciated. There were a lot of thoughtful touches. The neighborhood was quiet and there were coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Nice & cozy

It fit our needs for a 3 night stay and it was very clean. We appreciated the coffee and creamer, water bottles and sodas and the popcorn! I would have liked a better quality shampoo and body wash (it was a brand sold at Dollar Tree) and I didn't see hair conditioner there. A dish towel and cloth for the kitchenette would be helpful too. The mattress was fine for the few nights stay but probably needs replacing. Overall we enjoyed this small space and the cute cats that hung outside. The seating area outside was beautiful with the palms and nice to have a little table and chairs to relax on. The location was perfect to walk to the beach and to restaurants and stores. The recommendations sheet left was very helpful too. We would definitely return here for a get away again. The host was very nice and friendly.

This is our 4th time staying here. We love it. It is kept so clean! The host is very nice. The fridge has coffee creamer, bottled water & soda. She has beach towels, along with a great sturdy beach bag, as well as chairs & umbrella. Great location to restaurants, shops, beach, etc...you will love this little hidden gem. Perfect for two, to just get away.

Just what we wanted!

Great little property and perfect for 2 people! We really appreciated the beach towels, chairs, tote and cooler that were available to use, which we did every day! The location was great, just over the bridge from AMI and on a quiet street. We were in walking distance to some AMAZING little restaurants just across the street on the fishing pier.

Your host Hazel is a third generation Cortezian, who along with her husband Steve, raised two sons in this home. Her family is one of the families who founded the fishing village of Cortez in the late 1800s.
