Close to the villages of Gordes and Roussillon, in the heart of a small hamlet, this bastide has all the charm of a family home, with a warm atmosphere and decor that's both tasteful and relaxed. The large terrace overlooks the Luberon mountains, the village of Bonnieux and the Château de Lacoste, which lights up in the evening. A magical spot for aperitifs, evening star gazing and early-morning hot-air balloon launches! Objects collected over the years give it a soul, and you'll feel right at home. The swimming pool (11x5 meters), slightly below the large terrace, is secured by a fence and shutter. It is open from the end of May. The spaces and volumes of the house are vast, and there's a place for everyone to dream, read or rest. Breakfast is served in the kitchen. Meals are taken under the awning, sheltered from the sun.
In summer, the thick walls keep the ground floor cool. Each room has a fan to cool you down before you go to sleep. For meals, you can choose between tasty dishes cooked on the piano in the spacious kitchen, or grilled on the outdoor plancha.
Upstairs are 3 bedrooms, including a master suite with en suite bathroom, a double bedroom and a dormitory with 4 single beds for children. Recent bedding is of high quality. The 4th bedroom, with bathroom (sink, shower, wc), is in a small adjacent house accessible from outside the bastide. Ideal for an independent couple or a baby sitter.
The unfenced 3000m2 garden surrounds the house. Cars can be parked in the grounds to the side of the house, or above it.
Pétanque, Mölky, children's books, board games, young and old enjoy the moment. The nearest shops are in the center of Roussillon, 5' by car, with a Thursday morning market.
For those who can't stand still, the region is full of charming villages, natural and cultural sites that are not to be missed.
Explore the Luberon's many hilltop villages. Take in the breathtaking panoramas as you turn down a steep lane. Vineyards, orchards, lavender and olive groves as far as the eye can see. Every week, a colorful market enlivens the narrow streets.
In terms of culture, we recommend the Fondation Blachère (10km), dedicated to contemporary African art. In summer, the Festival de Musique et de Théâtre in the courtyard of the Château du Marquis de Sade in Lacoste (10km) is a must.
Sports enthusiasts have a choice of trails, which can be explored on foot or by bike in the cool of the day. Don't miss: the Colorado Provençale at Rustrel (20 km); the Petit Luberon cedar forest at Bonnieux and Lacoste.
