Welcome to Gibbard Block! Step out the front door of the building to a quaint main street of one of Edmonton's top ten neighbourhoods according to Avenue Magazine and one of Canada's top ten neighbourhoods of old homes by the magazine This Old House. You're only steps away from top restaurants, walking and hiking trails, Edmonton's breathtaking river valley, a spa, golf courses and more.
Your full kitchen includes a cooktop, microwave, fridge and sink along with kitchenware, glasses, mugs, dishes and cutlery. We didn't skimp on quality, and a selection of fine spices, herbs and seasonings from The Silk Road Spice Merchant as well as high quality olive oil supplied by Evoolution are available for use during your stay. Complimentary tea and fresh locally-roasted Transcend Coffee are also waiting for you!
Complimentary blazing fast wifi, TV with Netflix, fresh linens and towels ensure your enjoyment. Your suite also includes air conditioning for those hot summer days!

Whether you want to relax on the plush bed, take a long bath in the fully restored original claw-foot tub, read a book by the large window or cook a gourmet meal in the kitchen, the suite has everything you need to enjoy your stay.
This three-storey brick building was built to house luxurious apartments in 1912 for Thomas William Gibbard and his partners W.J. Magrath and B.A. Holgate. Magrath and Holgate were the principal entrepreneurs behind the development of the Highlands area, and their mansions still stand just south of the Gibbard Block. Fully restored an upgraded in 2018, guests will stay in comfortable, quiet accommodations with modern amenities and many design elements inspired by the original Arts & Crafts heritage of the building.

With breathtaking views over the river valley on the North East side of the city, it's easy to understand why Highlands is considered such a gem. With strikingly beautiful homes built before the First World War, Highlands is a historically proud neighbourhood. It celebrated its 100th birthday in 2012, and the area sits just outside the city centre on the banks of North Saskatchewan.

Rich in parkland, the community enjoys the conveniently located Highlands Park (62 Street) that features a spray deck in summer, park benches and a gazebo. A highly anticipated annual event is the Highlandia Festival located in Henry Martell Park. Musicians come from all over to share an open air concert in June.
