Terrace level great room is outfitted with a pool table, bar, lush seating and big screen TV ~ perfect for entertaining or spending time with family and friends. Only 5 miles from the charming town of Hamilton, great restaurants, and the grocery store. You will have all the conveniences you need and the seclusion you want to re-charge.

Bitterroot Retreat is amazing! We had the BEST stay and everything was simply perfect. This was the perfect choice for our family of 7 with room for everyone. If you are looking to stay in the Bitterroot area of Montana, this is the only place I'd stay.

What a beautiful setting!! The house is well maintained and well equipped. The location is very convenient for getting to Hamilton. It was all good!

The property was absolutely stunning. Our family had an incredible experience and so much fun. Made some amazing new memories that we will never forget. The house was gorgeous inside and out. Sunsets, the porch, fire pit, wildlife and how close to the river it was, was unreal. Access to Hamilton/Darby very easy to navigate our way around. The whole family had such a wonderful time. The view was incredible and something you just cannot beat. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share your house with us and we hope to eventually return someday. (And catch fish like Bo does!) ;) Thank you Bo & Renea for everything.

Great Family Vacation

Absolutely wonderful home and location

This was the most wonderful home and made it a vacation that we will remember for a long time to come. The home is exactly as the pictures depict, spacious, well decorated, spacious and lots of amenities. The location was amazing and we spent hours sitting on the back porch, into the late night, listening to the rippling river. Would come back again without hesitation!

Fantastic Stay

Looking for plenty of room for a family gathering or group of friends, this home is perfect! Comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, space for everyone to relax. We enjoyed the outdoor deck each day with awesome views of the beautiful Bitterroot river and wildlife. Renae is a wonderful host and provided an accommodation that exceeded our expectation.

Memories were made!

This was one of the best family trips we have taken! Everything was so incredibly easy. The views were stunning. Accommodations were great for our large group/family and easy driving to hiking trails and both downtown Hamilton and Darby. No one wanted to leave so we will definitely be back!

Bitterroot Adventure

The home/lodge was exactly as advertised. Beautiful private location and close to town and close to many outdoor activities. The kitchen is well equipped. We had a great time!

This has the potential to be a nice little place to stay, but our stay was not good. There were several issues we experienced:1. On the check in day, I never received any communication from the host to provide the door code and the booking said check in was 2pm but host stated it was 4pm which was an issue because we got there at 3pm but she was finishing up when we pulled up. 2. The door did not lock and we couldn’t leave so she had to come back and change the battery. 3. There was a dirty pot sitting in the sink full of dirty water and the faucet was hanging down almost in the pot and did not retract so it seemed broken. 4. There were absolutely NO eating utensils, not 1 fork, spoon or even a butter knife in the entire kitchen. There was 1 old steak knife just thrown in an empty drawer and all of the drawers were empty except 1 that had miscellaneous stuff in it. 5. There is a dishwasher but is not hooked up and doesn’t work. 6. We were provided wash cloths and towels but there were no hand towels to dry our hands and no foot towel in the bathroom. 7. The WORST issue is the tub was clogged so both of us had to shower as the dirty water gathered and covered our feet as we tried to wash which was disgusting.

Another great visit to the Bitterroot Retreat

This was our second time staying at the Bitterroot Retreat house and we had another fantastic time! The sunsets each night while sitting on the back deck were amazing! The fishing was great and we saw lots of wildlife (there's a mother moose and her calf near the park in downtown Hamilton). Lots of great hikes nearby too. The house was again awesome!

A Week In Hamilton With Family

We own a large property nearby, but no living quarters. Your house is a beautiful property on the river and the perfect place to stay. We rented from previous owner and we were amazed at the improvements you have made. Great experience staying there!

Christmas in Montana

This property was lonely! The house is beautiful and the location is amazing. Nestled right on the Bitterroot River and just a few short miles from Town! We loved our stay and would love to stay again in the summer! Renea was very helpful!

Really nice stay

Overall, really good stay. Beautiful spot right on the river, really felt safe and relaxing. We did run out of a few things that should have been available like paper towels and trash bags. However, those were minor issues.

Sleeping Child Road Gem

This is the best home we could have found in Hamilton for our needs. You never know from the photos on VRBO, but this home is everything and more. Right on the river with great views/wildlife and 5 minutes from town. The home has all you need to feel like you are home.

A little slice of heaven

Absolutely gorgeous home on the river. Sunsets from the deck were spectacular. The house provided everything family needed for gathering as well as enough room for “alone time.” Renae was more than helpful and responded quickly to any messages. I can’t think of a better place to stay, and will recommend this VRBO to anyone I know seeking the best of a Montana experience.

Awesome House

My family and I stayed at the Bitterroot Retreat house mid June 2022 and had a great time. The house was well equipped and beautifully maintained. Sitting on the back porch enjoying the views of the Bitterroot River and the mountains at the end of each day was amazing. The house is close to downtown Hamilton (for food and shopping) and close to all things fly-fishing. We also enjoyed some great nearby hikes when we weren't fishing. We will definitely be back!
