Tucked away on 68 private acres of untouched forest in Princeton, West Virginia, The Palace of Dreams is a secluded cabin retreat designed for guests who crave peace, nature, and a touch of magic.
Originally built by my grandmother and father in the 1960sâwith stones pulled from the nearby creekâthe cabin has deep roots and family history. In July 2025, we completed a full renovation, blending the propertyâs rustic charm with thoughtful updates and modern comfort.
Recent upgrades include:

âą High-quality bedding, linens, and curtains throughout
âą Brand-new kitchen appliances, cookware, dishes, and silverware

The cabinâs layout is simple, warm, and full of characterâperfect for couples, solo travelers, creatives, or small families. Whether youâre sipping coffee on the porch, exploring forest trails, or unwinding by the fire, this is a place to slow down and reconnect.
đČ What to know: Access to the property is via a half-mile gravel driveway that winds through the forest. Itâs part of what makes the place feel so private and peacefulâbut guests should be comfortable driving on rural roads. The cabin is surrounded by woods and wildlife, with strong cell service and reliable Wi-Fi. While the Wi-Fi generally works great, rare outages can happen due to the remote location.

What I love most is how it feels like a world of its own, while still being just a short drive to historic downtown Princeton, local restaurants, antique shops, hiking trails, and river adventures. Thereâs a raw, grounded beauty here thatâs hard to describeâbut once you feel it, you get it.
This area is rich with Appalachian culture, history, and a deep-rooted connection to the land. Itâs the kind of place where people wave when you drive by and time moves just a little slower. Thatâs why Iâm hereâand why I keep coming back.
