The Pond Cabin: Hot Tub & Stocked Pond

The Pond Cabin is just over 2,000 square feet and offers plenty of room - both indoors and out! The Pond Cabin is marketed to sleep 6, though has beds to sleep 7.

The bedrooms are very spacious and there are cots and air mattresses available, as well.

OUTDOOR: Hot tub, grill, outdoor patio furniture, picnic shelter, fire pit, stocked pond, lounge chairs.

KITCHEN (main floor) - Nespresso Machine, coffee pot, frother, coffee grinder, stainless steel appliances, glass-top stove. The kitchen is fully stocked with all of the essentials that you need to cook during your stay.

DINING (main floor) - Large dining table that sits 6. Dining room, kitchen, and family room are all open concept.

FAMILY ROOM (main floor) - Leather sofa and oversized arm chair, smart TV with Netflix, games: Catan, poker chips, Cards Against Humanity, The Resistance, Spy Alley, Chess, and Checkers.

MASTER BEDROOM (main floor) - located off a small hallway from the family room. Queen bed with goose down comforter, sound machine, large walk-in closet (would easily accommodate a pack-n-play).

MASTER BATHROOM (main floor) - Located off master bedroom. Large jacuzzi tub, shower, bubble bath, soap, shampoo, and conditioner all provided.

HALF BATH (main floor) - Located off hallway from kitchen.

LAUNDRY ROOM (main floor) - Guests will enter through laundry room upon check-in. Full washer and dryer with access to detergent.

LIVING ROOM (main floor) - Gas fireplace with comfortable leather sofas.

BEDROOM #2 (upstairs) - Twin bunk bed, single bed, stools, cube shelving with toys and book, large walk-in closet with cots and air mattress.

BEDROOM #3 (upstairs) - Queen bed with goose down comforter, dresser, sound machine, full length mirror, walk-in closet.

BATHROOM #2 (upstairs) - Full bathroom with combination bathtub and shower, vanity, soap, shampoo, and conditioner provided.

The home does have a basement, but we do ask that this space stay off limits for property owner and manager use.

Great place to take a break
I have had a Girl Scout troop for 13 years, and still have two kids left in my troop (Seniors in HS now!). We visited the Pond Cabin as our last troop trip, and had a great time exploring the property and nearby attractions. We got local produce across the road at The Giving Tree and cooked foil packets and s'mores on the firepit. We went apple picking at Stribling Orchard (get there early!) and had breakfast and donuts from the Apple House. All very close to the property. The house was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen had almost everything we needed for cooking simple meals. (We couldn't find a whisk or a dish drainer). The driveway is no joke, and I recommend parking down the hill and walking up unless you have all wheel drive. Also, because of the time of the year, we had to watch out for the black walnut trees dropping nuts on us and our cars. luckily, it wasn't hard to find a place to park away from the trees, so it wasn't a big deal. I would definitely recommend the Pond Cabin, and would love to go back and try out the hot tub. Next time!

Wonderful!
We booked this beautiful little cottage for an overnight visit to celebrate our twin sons' 17th birthday, after an afternoon's hike in the Shenandoah. The house and property exceeded our expectations. It was very clean, spacious, well designed, with great outdoor space and grounds. The kitchen was well stocked, beds comfortable, linens, towels, etc. all beautiful! Everything felt very well cared for with many thoughtful touches including the coffee station and pantry. We all loved our stay and would love to come back!

There is plenty of parking at the house, including a single garage. Again, four wheel drive is very strongly encouraged for the winter months. The driveway gets very steep!
