This raised, coastal home is the perfect choice for your next Galveston Island getaway! Just 1 minute drive from pristine gulf beaches, this spacious retreat offers multiple levels of living spaces including an open bunk room and semi-detached in-law suite for the perfect balance of group entertainment and guest privacy. Spread out on the raised, wraparound deck or enjoy al fresco dining and shady lounging on the ground-floor patio. Guests in the upper bedroom will enjoy canal views from a private balcony or lounge in the spacious loft.

The main floor features a bright, open layout with contemporary design and furnishings. The kitchen is equipped with a full suite of stainless steel appliances and gorgeous, custom counters providing plenty of space for the home chef to flex their muscles. The island prep station doubles as a dining counter with seating for four. Leather sofas and a smart TV in the living room provide a comfortable place to relax and unwind inside. The downstairs in-law suite includes a wet bar, fridge, microwave, and dining table seating for four.

I was not impressed with this property for the price. I slept on the bottom floor and when the pulled the covers down saw several hairs on the sheets. Just pulled the covers back up and slept on top of them. The remote for the tv - there were 2 but would turn tv on but couldn’t change the volume and it was on 100, so very loud, so just had to turn it off. Also something wrong with electric everytime someone turned on light upstairs it turned the lights on downstairs. From looking at pictures looks like property is right on beach that also is not the case. I would not recommend this place.

Had a wonderful time. Very close beach access. Set up well if you have teenagers or are 2 families that want separate space since the first floor is basically its own efficiency apartment.

i really liked it. I am glad only 3 of us ultimately went because the 3rd floor bedroom would have been difficult to get to.The kitchen was perfect, appreciated real plates and cupsI wish the bathrooms were a bit larger and hand rails were in the bath - we are olderthe place was clean but if you looked outside the obvious the cleaning - dusting could have been a bit better. We stayed in quite a bit because we were not expecting the stairs, we had to move the sofa to watch TV in the main room Jared was a lovely host - answered all questions and provide info that made our visit very nice. I stayed downstairs so I would not have to climb the stairs often and was more private.

We had a wonderful stay at the house. It was a great retreat from the hustle and bustle of Galveston with close proximity to public access beach! We enjoyed our stay greatly.

It's a very nice cozy place to stay and very quiet. The owners are in the process of upgrading and updating everything so I will be looking forward to coming back when they finish everything even though right now it's very nice.

First day the house was a mess.Pieces of sheet rock and insulation was all over the floor and under the bed. I called the property management and it was quickly cleaned up.Sheet rock and insulation was stacked at the end of the driveway and wind blown through out the front yard, all three days. Not a good trip.

Terrible experience house collapsed

Terrible experience the ceiling of the first floor literally collapsed and I had to cancel my event. Vrbo is not responding as they promised.

Nice beach house!

Clean, great kitchen, comfortable beds. Plenty of room inside & outside, though a dining room table would have been nice with 8 people. Plenty of towels, nice bathrooms.Short walk or drive to beach, 5-minute drive to a decent little grocery mart. Easy check-in, excellent communication with owner. We enjoyed our stay!

Had a great time with a few hiccups

My family and friend had a great time at the property. The owner was very communicative with us. When we arrived the door code lock for the main house rain out of battery and when we arrived my phone died and refused to charge so i had to boot up my laptop to reach the manger. Thankfully they were very responsive and helped us get in. A few of the photos should be updated on the listing as we noticed there were some differences but nothing that hindered us from enjoying ourselves. The first night one of the beds collapsed but the manager showed up the next day to fix the bed. For anyone interested in the room on the top floor and private balcony, that room does get hotter during the summer and there is no furniture on that balcony. The room with the bunk beds also gets hot. For the lights, the only lights controlled by switches were in the kitchen. All other lights and fans were controlled by remotes that should probably be reprogrammed as some remotes controlled several fixtures at the same time. Just be aware that the bathroom maybe too small for some. I am 5'2" and the ceiling was not that far above my head. We had a great time overall and would recommend the property.

It was perfect for what we needed it for other than the lights on the bottom units shined right inside and it really needs to be updated. The Shower head downstairs didn’t work. The cleanliness of the home was ok but it’s very outdated and doesn’t really look like the pics

A few days at the beach

Before my husband and I get busy with work for the summer we decided to get away for a few days. We loved the accommodations here at the Blue Whale. Close enough to town for anything we needed yet far enough away. The house upon arrival was very clean, linens were clean and set up very nice. One word to sum it up is perfect! My family and I arrived Saturday. We stayed at this property before departing for our cruise. Clean, safe & very nice area. Several nice restaurants in the area too. This vrbo rental was perfect!
