Great place in the perfect location

Gorgeous view and condo

We loved our stay here. The condo was clean and well furnished. The lanai has a stunning view. The condo is close to everything. We could walk to restaurants or across the street to the park where we could walk or run the path. We will be back for sure.

Gorgeous landing pad in paradise

Maui Mike's condo at Island Shores was a fabulous home base for us on our recent trip to Maui. We adored the view and really enjoyed watching the surfers and paddle boarders out every morning. The condo is well stocked with kitchen items as well as Maui items - snorkels/masks, beach umbrellas and mats, guide books, binoculars, etc. We would love the opportunity to stay here again in the future!

View, location and comfort!

Exactly as advertised! The ocean view from the living area and bedroom are spectacular. Very comfortable, updated unit with a great lanai. The Island Surf condo is perfectly located in Kihea across the street from Kalama Park and a popular long board/SUP break the Cove. We walked across the street to the park and beach every day. Numerous restaurants, bars, surf shops, stores and Foodland are all within two blocks of the unit. Kihea is centrally located on the West side only 25 minutes from the airport and is south of Lahaina/Kaanapali and just north of Wailea. We did activities all over the island and never felt like our drive was too far to get anywhere. The owner Mike was a pleasure to work with. We'll be back, Mahalo!

Great Condo in a Perfect Location

We wanted to stay like a local in our most recent trip to Maui and that is exactly what we found in Mike's condo. It was completely as advertised. Within a few minutes of rising in the morning , we could be on the water on a paddle board searching for whales. After we were worn out from paddle boarding we'd go back to the condo, put on some dry clothes and walk to breakfast. After re-fueling we'd get back on the water on surf boards for the afternoon. The convenience of this condo is so perfect! Walking distance to surf rental shops, great restaurants (with great HR specials), and a grocery store. Mike was great to rent from, he was constantly in touch to make sure everything went as planned, from the time we booked until the day we checked out. Although we didn't need too much, anything we could think of was available in the condo. There were coolers, chairs, towels, beach toys, chairs, etc...

Second time's the charm. Great place in a convient location.

This was my second trip to Maui, as well as my second time staying in this condo. It's conveniently located (walking distance) to shops, restaurants, day activities, and is directly across the street from the beach. This is a clean condo with parking, plenty of open space, a balcony with Amazing views, all in a quiet area. I fell in love with Maui on my first trip and the second trip has solidified my desire to live there. It's almost impossible to turn in any one direction and not feel part of the beauty of the Island. The condo is in a great location for day trips to Hana, Iao, and Haleakala, and is convenient to the airport.

Great Kihei Rental

Excellent Kihei condo close to numerous shops, restaurants and beaches. Views of the ocean and breeze on the balcony were great to come back to after a day on the beach or exploring. Air conditioning kept the place very comfortable. Nearby grocery shopping and well appointed kitchen were convenient for nights cooking in.

Fantastic condo - best location in Kihei!

We just returned from an 12 day stay at Mike's amazing condo. Never having been to Maui before we were a little anxious about finding the right kind of place to stay. But we totally nailed it with the Island Surf - and specifically this unit. It is in the best location, in our opinion, in Kihei. It's just north of the SUPER touristy area where the large timeshares and busy commercial areas are located - yet walkable if you want to sight see or check out the beaches in that area. It's also directly across the street of a great park that's popular with paddle boarders and surfing beginners. There are several fantastic restaurants in short walking distance - and more than a few passable ones ;) This unit is on the sixth floor and has spectacular ocean and mountain views looking southwest. Its located on the south leg of the building- not on the west side directly facing the park. That being said, while the main road does have a fair amount of traffic, it's only two-lanes and people keep their speed typically around 25. I don't think that should be a deterrent. Along the ground floor are a number of retail shops (yay, for mixed use) including the SUPERB Joys Place. Great convenient place to grab a tasty bite or have a green smoothie and give your body a break from the kalua pork and mai tais! Mike has also provided nearly everything you could need while staying in Maui. There are beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear, body boards, portable coolers!, a plethora of beach towels, and even a floppy hat - for those of us who left ours on our dresser at home. He even has a club card for use at the local supermarket that is a 4 minute walk away. The last thing I'll mention is just how laid back the whole building is. This is NOT a resort or even a hotel and it's SO fantastic. When we travel we love to stay in local places that have a personal vibe and NOT the huge time shares or resorts with spas, child care and restaurants etc. We were there long enough that we got to recognize and chat with a number of the residents of the building, most of whom live there, as well as the very helpful and friendly building super/manager Brian. This is a gem of a unit and building in an area flooded with condos and hotels that start to look the same. (I know, I spent over a month settling on a place...) It's got the location, amenities and views. Thanks to Mike for the use of his awesome home-away-from-home!

Maui Oasis

This condo is the epitome of Maui life. Situated within walking distance of popular restaurants and local shopping. Views of the water off one way and the gorgeous Volcano Haleakala the other abound on the oversized lanai perfect for a quiet dinner for two or just gazing at the sunset. Inside the condo it was nice to have a spacious eat in kitchen and living room with oversized furniture to relax on and take in the tropical decor. The bedroom was furnished with a very comfortable king bed perfect for two to spread out on. The sliding doors in the living room and the bedroom remained open to allow a most amazing cross breeze that swept in fresh sea air and fragrant plumeria blossoms. The just renovated bathroom is a touch of class with its open and airy shower and modern vanity with an oversized sink. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was a plus as well. Noise was never a problem so be prepared for very quiet mid-day naps and a peaceful nights sleep. With a super on the premisses full time cleanliness was never a problem inside and out of the condo. I would recommend to anyone who asked to stay here without hesitation.

SWEET!

Sitting on the lanai in the morning and the evening are great way to start and end the day with spectacular, relaxing views of the ocean and sunset.

The proximity to the beach and shopping and dining offer me all the things I love about Maui. The bike and surf rental shop downstairs allow me and my guests to surf, snorkel and bike the island as it was intended...up close and personal.
