Enjoy a very private setting with expansive views of Swift's Bay, Thatcher’s Pass, Ferry Traffic and the Cascades from our special home.

The all cedar great room has a vaulted ceiling with comforting furniture, fireplace, large screen HDTV, Bose surround sound and uninterrupted views that leads to its own large deck looking southeast. The gourmet kitchen has Viking, Bosch, and Subzero appliances. The imported granite counter tops and sitting area lends itself to gourmet or casual cooking. You are very likely to see Eagles, Deer, Otters, Mink and Seals from all arears of the house.

From the great room enter a stunning sun room with fireplace, sitting and dining areas. Outside you will find a new built-in barbecue, separate outside sitting area, a spacious hot tub (could be unavailable in late fall and/ or winter if we have a significant freeze.). Enjoy 240 feet of private beach while gathering around an evening fire by the fire pit surrounded by natural log benches.

The large master bedroom has a separate deck looking Northwest to the ferry terminal and Spencer’s Landing Marina.

Downstairs is a guest bedroom and a separate office area with a Murphy bed. (Wireless High Speed internet throughout).

Relax in our knotty pine loft with separate TV for DVD Movie watching while overlooking the eastern San Juan’s.

We will do everything possible to make your experience extra special.

Senior Trip

We had such a wonderful time while on Lopez Island. The accommodations were well beyond our expectations, along with the ever changing, stunning views - there isn’t anything I would change about our trip. We will definitely be returning.

Relaxing getaway

My wife and I had such a wonderful and relaxing stay. The location and the ocean views were just amazing, and our hosts (John and Alan) were great. What a nice and relaxing stay in such a nice home, thank you !

Lopez Island Getaway

Breathtaking views, spacious home and wondeful accommodations. Great information and helpful tips from Gayle. Amazing island with kind people that wave whereever you go. Spectacular hiking trails with incredible scenery. We have never had a vacation like this one. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful scenery and relaxing atmosphere

When we arrived, everything was as it should be. The owner was very accommodating when we spoke with him we spent a week on the island and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Incredible Family Stay

Absolutely loved our time on the spot, it was the perfect location for a 'chose your own adventure' stay with the family. We got to bike around the island, hang out by the beach, enjoy the hot tub, and play board games and cook inside. The sunrises were incredible, lots of the natural world putting on a show for us! It was a real dream, everything was comfortable with enough space for all of us, and we hope to stay again soon!

Love This Home!

Well appointed and in, perhaps, the best location on the island. LOVE the views and walking on the beach. Great layout and good kitchen for cooking. Always my first choice.

What an amazing property! The view, the house, the amenities, the wildlife, the island…. It did not disappoint We had an awesome family vacation… We just kept saying,”WOW”. Gayle was very prompt on answering our questions, and had great advice on activities to check out on Lopez! We will be back!

This is a great property!

This Lopez property is excellent. Off the back deck: beachfront with views to the east of the shipping channel towards Blakely across Swifts Bay. From the front: views west over Shoals Bay to the ferry dock and beautiful sunsets. The host was friendly, helpful and easy to work with. The house is well victualled for guests.

Perfect Getaway

The Bronson's place is a beautiful home situated on an incredibly scenic shoreline on Lopez Island. We very much enjoyed our stay here. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed for cooking, and there are plenty of spaces to lounge about and read by a warm fireplace! We felt very spoiled spending the evenings around the fire pit and relaxing in the hot tub. John was very kind and communicative to make sure we had the best stay possible.

The property was just as represented on the VRBO site: spacious, great views inside and outside, quiet, wildlife-rich beach and bay, and really nice amenities throughout. The owners were extremely responsive to questions. Recommend.

Perfect week on beautiful Lopez Island

There is no better place to stay for a week! Our group (4 adults, 2 young kids) stayed for a week in March and had, truly, a perfect week. The home was absolutely amazing. Beautiful views out the front and back, beachside fire pit, hot tub, great location, very private, and spectacular wildlife to view every day from the house. The house was plenty large for our group and very comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully stocked/appointed. The owner was communicative and very responsive. We will definitely be back!

Refreshed and Renewed!

We travel often, and - usually - we are eager to return to the comforts of our own home. We stayed for three nights and wished we were staying longer because this property has such a beautiful view and is so "easy" to live in. We watched otters playing in the tides in front of the deck and enjoyed sunsets from the hot tub. The full kitchen is equipped to handle full use as well. In other words, come prepared to cook if you want ; >) The bed was very comfortable, and the owners of the property set us up to truly enjoy our Lopez Island experience.

Splendor on Lopez

As the previous reviews have stated, John's house more than delivers, it was an absolute pleasure to rent! The house offers many spaces indoors to soak up the incredible views from both the front and back of the property. It is thoughtfully appointed, well-stocked and warm and snug from the inevitable spring storms. I was particularly smitten by what John's house offered outside, however, nothing was lacking: a lovely deck, fire pit and incredible hot tub, large yard and vast beach. We were able to easily launch our canoe from the beach and bike rides around the island were a breeze from his location. Thanks for sharing, we absolutely hope to return.

Lopez Hideaway

My only hesitation with recommending this home is that I don't want to make it harder to reserve next year! Stayed with the wife and two kids, everyone had a magnificent, relaxing time. We had grand plans for exploring the island, but ended up lazing about because the home was so cozy and nice. Much nicer than your average rental, everything worked and was in good to great condition, the appliances, dishes, glassware, etc. were all nicer than is typical. A very relaxing home, perfect for whiling away a few days in relative seclusion - reading books, sipping wine, beachcombing, making some elaborate dinners. The hot tub and fire pit were perfect for the evenings, and the stargazing was awesome on clear nights. Thanks for having us, we'll see you next year!

Lopez Island Delight

Fantastic place to stay for a week as a family (adult couple, toddler, infant, grandma)! Beautiful views, great ferry and animal watching, and excellent tidepooling out the back door while the front balcony offered lovely sunset views. Grass on both side of the backyard to kick a soccer ball around with the toddler, who also loved roasting hot dogs and marshmallows at the fire pit. Adults enjoyed the hot tub after kids’ bedtime. Location was great - lots of privacy, and you don’t need to leave the house if you don’t want to but we found it an excellent jumping off point for half day trips (we like to do lots of walking and hiking). Easy 5-10 minute drive to town for meals out. Owner was great at communication. Appreciated the laundry (and drying rack!) given we had two kids with us. Would definitely book again.

Perfect place for a quiet retreat

First, I want to apologize for taking so long to write this review. My husband and I actually stayed at the property 10/9-10/12/13. Better late than never, I guess. The home is as gorgeous as pictured. The master bedroom upstairs is enormous and the views from the home, both upstairs and down are tops. The kitchen was well-appointed which was perfect to cook up the abundance of fabulous foods that can be found on the island. Fabulous seafood is available from the fishery across the road. The staff are friendly and they even showed him what a oyster "seed" looks like under a microscope. There is fabulous local meat, dairy, wine and beer. We had a fabulous tasting at Lopez Island winery and sent several bottles home. We went for incredible hikes, the birdwatching is tops, and the sunsets are beautiful. The ferry ride over is a fun trip in itself. The only improvement I would recommend is a little work on the barbecue and the outdoor lighting. But the place is fabulous as is. I can't wait for another opportunity to visit!
