Ryson Vacation Rentals = Terrible Customer Service
The unit was ok, but there was a lot of damage on the walls. There were not any linens in the unit for the sleeper sofa. We did not discover this until late evening on day one. We had to wait until the next day to get them since housekeeping was closed for the day. Good thing we brought a couple of extra blankets & pillows from home. The carpet in the living area was filthy. Clean feet were black on the bottom after taking shower & walking across the carpet. The plumbing in the bathroom sink & toilet was not working properly on day 1. Someone came up the next day & corrected those issues. On day 3, without any prior notice, the water was shut off just as we were preparing to take showers/brush teeth to get our day started. The staff onsite, informed that Ryson Properties, who manages the rental of the unit, should have given us prior notification that it would be shut off on that day for a few hours & said it was not their problem that we were not notified ahead of time. I immediately called Ryson & was told by a representative that no information had been passed to them about water being shut off on July 12. I inquired about receiving some sort of compensation for the inconvenience. The representative named Denise, became immediately defensive & I was hastily told that the water should be back on within a couple of hours & it would not be possible to offer any compensation. Oh and just for the record, an associate from Ryson called informing of the water outage 20 minutes after I called to complain. The elevators at this property are very slow (when not broken down) & not air conditioned. Pools were not super clean. The water was slightly cloudy, but that didn't stop most guests from enjoying them. On the positive: Victorian staff associate Amberlen(?) was very helpful & accommodating when we approached her with needs or concerns. It was an easy walk to the beach & Walmart was right across the side street, which was convenient for grocery runs. We enjoyed the balcony & the ocean view from the unit. And last, but certainly not least, the air conditioner in the unit was excellent. I am very picky about the room temperature being cool enough to freezing & this exceeded my expectations by far. Not sure if I would stay in this particular unit again, after viewing pics of other units that are much better maintained. But it was a last minute decision to book at this property so we took what was available.
