Making Memories: A Home Away From Home

This property is an absolute gem! Consider staying here without hesitation. Reluctant to encourage bookings to avoid it being fully booked in the future. Returned for the second year, extended stay by two days due to wanting more. Picturesque views from the exquisite home along the water's edge are unparalleled. Each room maximizes natural light and breathtaking views. Waking up in the morning feels like perching above the water. Family room area is surrounded by windows for an immersive experience. The house is equipped with more amenities than any vacationer could possibly need. It is safe to say that we have developed a deep affection for this home. We had a great wine tour with Grand Traverse Tours and rented jet skis from PlayNorth Watersports, enjoying the water. PlayNorth Watersports was great to work with. Tom, our host, was as exceptional as always, readily available to answer any questions and provide valuable guidance throughout our stay. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise.

Fabulous home, beautiful setting

Our stay at this Sutton's Bay home was fabulous! And I do mean this is a "home," not a "property." Four couples had plenty of room to hang out, whether in the living room, on the lower level, patio or dock, we had all we needed and great water views, too. Care has been taken to decorate the home, with personal mementos and photos. The landscaping is beautiful as well. The area was quiet for walking and for stargazing -- but also close to the adorable town of Sutton's Bay and its restaurants and shops. We took advantage of the location to explore Sleeping Bear Dunes, Fishtown, Grand Traverse Bay Lighthouse, Old Mission Peninsula and Traverse City. We visited area restaurants (enjoyed 45th Parallel Cafe and others) and wineries (so many, so close). In other words, we had a great time in Michigan! Thank you for opening your home to us!

FOR OUR NEEDS it was the best rental house. Outside of town, close to a playground, our own beach, sandy and shallow, lots of light in the house, many different locations to lounge in/outdoors. Tastefully furnished, good kitchen.We all enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful house right on the bay!

Our group came up for a winery tour and loved this house! Spectacular views, 2 outside fireplaces, and so much room. We socialized upstairs around the very large dining table and also downstairs watching a football game. Downstairs had a 2nd full kitchen with walkout to an amazing sitting area with fire table. Huge windows overlooking the bay. The host was wonderful and house is stocked up and down with everything you need. Needless to say, we had an amazing weekend!

Great property and great location. All the amenities of the house made for an easy stay for 3 couples, my 91 year old father and one-year-old grandson. Lots of kayaking and boarding on the bay, beautiful sunsets, and great meals. Highly recommend.

Just amazing!

Not only do you get to escape to northern Michigan but you feel like you at your own private resort. The house has great views from the living room. Kitchen and most rooms. Wether enjoying company inside, by the outdoor patio or on the dock you will not want to leave!

Waterfront Gem

Tom’s house was as good as advertised. The views from every part of the house were amazing and I especially enjoyed waking up to the sounds of the water lapping against the shoreline. The outdoor space was wonderful and the home included all the things needed to make our time in Suttons Bay more enjoyable. Tom was a super host, responsive and easy to work with. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend Tom and his home to anyone.

Beautiful home in idyllic spot

If you love being on the water...this is your house! It is very nicely updated and the location is close to Suttons Bay, but on the quieter side of the bay. So good we tried to book again for next year, but it was already booked. Everything you need is in the two kitchens....the back patio is where we ate every meal.

Excellent Vacation Home

Beautiful home with windows to the lake nearly covering entire back of house. Sunsets are fantastic. Great shallow swim area for the kids and outdoor living area. Sutton’s Bay is a neat village very close. Overall great experience.

Amazing property in the most beautiful location

This house has everything you need to make your visit to Sutton's Bay, Michigan fantastic. We rented kayaks for the weekend, had them delivered right to the house, and kayaked for a few hours each morning. The house is right in the protected Bay, perfect for kayaking. Gorgeous sunsets, 5 minutes from town.

Well maintained home, perfect for groups!

I cannot say enough good things about this home. From its functional layout to its proximity to Traverse City and Suttons Bay, it all made our stay very enjoyable. 3 couples stayed in the home, so we didn't use the basement level (which has its own kitchen and large bedroom with multiple beds). We all had our own ensuite bathrooms and the home was well equipped with all the little luxuries of home, beverage cooler, keurigs, etc. Its not a rental where all you get is a coffee pot and can opener. There are several dishwashers, which made cleanup after meals super easy. The water was still too cold to really go swimming, but the beach area is nice and the water is shallow, so it would be great for small children or floating around on a raft. Overall great house for entertaining while having privacy if you're staying with a group.

Outstanding property with no detail overlooked.

Loved out time here!! Extremely well appointed waterfront home with no detail overlooked! Bay views from most rooms with the most spectacular sunsets imaginable. 'Double' everything (laundry, dining, living rooms, kitchens, etc) made the accommodation even more desirable since there were areas for everyone to spread out with their own agenda. The outdoor living area is a very special place to wind down the day with a glass of wine and good conversation listening (and watching) the waves lap on the beach. Too cool for outdoor dining but can only imagine how special this would be during the warm summer months with sunlight well into the evening. I would recommend this home to any one who is looking for the best on the bay!

Perfectly Lovely!

This house was perfect for our family of 7 adults. The house is so beautiful and well appointed that it was difficult to encourage anyone to leave to explore the area. Every room has a fabulous lake view and we spent many hours enjoying the various decks and beach area. The owner is super attentive and always available to answer any questions you might have. Can't recommend enough. Fabulous!!!
