The guest house was private, incredibly clean, and furnished with really lovely and comfy amenities. Enjoyable stay, felt easy and safe, surrounded by lots of natural beauty.

This is a total find and we were very lucky that it was available the weekend we were traveling to Healdsburg. The primary facet that makes this property so special is the owner - Frederic is without question one of the most gracious and accommodating hosts I've ever experienced. Incredibly flexible, super helpful with directions and recommendations, did everything possible to make our visit comfortable. The guest house sits behind the main house, pool and garage of a large property with double-gated entry and very long driveway. It feels very remote but you are just a 5 minute drive to Plank Coffee, Big John's Market (which is amazing) and a few minutes more to the heart of Healdsburg. While not large, the guest house was more than ample enough in size for two of us, and the house is very well amenitized. The guest house has a private rear yard with small waterfall and an incredible array of mulberry trees that form a beautiful shade canopy over a table with 4 chairs, as well as some Adirondack chairs. Frederic ensured we had private access to their beautiful swimming pool and barbecue. Everything was truly exceptional and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.2 potential "sensitivities":1. The long driveway is somewhat rough and for those who have low-slung sports cars it could be problematic2. The WiFi was inconsistent. In this setting it's best to escape and "unplug", but if having lightning-speed online access at all time, check w/ Frederic.

We recently stayed at this beautifully designed quiet home nestled in one of the most convenient locations in wine country. The host is a designer and really took the time to make sure that the place has everything we needed and was beautiful. The bed is comfortable with beautiful linens and the kitchen has whatever you need to cook. We were there for a wedding so we did not cook nor did we get to enjoy the property as much as we’d like. I will stay here again and this time I’m staying put.

We had a wonderful stay at this guest house in Healdsburg! The hosts were absolutely incredible—warm, welcoming, and extremely communicative throughout my stay. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was comfortable and seamless. I truly appreciated their attentiveness and hospitality, which made the experience feel so personal and enjoyable. Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Healdsburg!

Blissful Retreat

We just stayed at this magnificent property for a week and it was pure bliss. I can't overstate what a special place this is. Fredric and his wonderful wife were amazing hosts. They could not have been more thoughtful, or generous! The property is in a really beautiful location. It offered the perfect mix of peace and quiet, whilst still being just a short distance from all the many fabulous amenities the area has to offer. We loved the outdoor patio and the beautiful gardens! We had such a wonderful time! We can't wait to return!! Thank you so much, Fredric. We really enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful cottage

We really enjoyed our stay at this small but very comfortable cottage. So many pros- hard to name them all: Great location just a few mins to downtown. Very peaceful and quiet, beautiful landscaping and almost rural setting with vineyards and very large lots- no neighbors close by except for the owner's house. The 3 car owner's garage blocks views of the owner's house so you have a lot of privacy. Very comfortable mattresses and bedding, comfy sofa and living room furniture, convenient washer and dryer, beautifully decorated. Outdoor seating in small private backyard and access to heated swimming pool. The owner is very friendly and helpful but not at all intrusive. We didn't really cook but everything we would have needed for cooking appeared to be available in the kitchen. Excellent restaurants and a large grocery are also just a few mins away. We took a stunning drive on Dry Creek Road past Lake Sonoma and a dam, over a bridge in the general direction of Sea Ranch on the coast. Also enjoyed a drive on Fitch Mtn Rd past the Russian R and older cottages on the riverfront. The front steps to the cottage felt a little steep if you have bad knees but the back entrance only has one step. Overall, highly recommend and we hope to return!

Beautiful, private guesthouse in Healdsburg

Such a wonderful stay! Property is meticulously maintained and communication with the owner outstanding. Very private and rural feel but you still benefit from central location to downtown Healdsburg. We definitely recommend!

Perfect escape

The property was a lovely home away from home and beautifully decorated! More importantly, it was clean and extra comfortable! Our hosts were so incredibly welcoming and go out of their way to ensure your enjoying the stay. If there was an option for 10 stars, I’d surely give them that. Someone previously commented on the internet being slow- we did not have that problem at all! We can’t wait to come back!

A Cozy Home Away From Home: Secluded, Yet Close

This is one of our favorite places to stay for weekend trips for our family trio. We love returning to Fred and Patricia's place because of the space, location (nearby Foss Creek Trail! perfect for biking, walking, running), and privacy. They are generous hosts, and we appreciate all aspects of their property from the pool and eating areas, to the guest houses with its own backyard. Everything feels easy here. Can't recommend enough (as you can see, this is the 2nd round of kudos!).

Wonderful Place for a Digital Detox -- A True Get Away

This charming Lone Star Farm Guest House was ideal for our little family of 3. We loved the the off beaten path location (only a 2.5 mile walk to town -- Fred and Patricia have bikes to lend). I highly recommend for those seeking a low-key get away with access to wineries. The Internet was spotty, which we had not anticipated (our plan was to do a workcation), however, there was Craftwork Space off Healdsburg Sq. that met our needs (workspace rent by the day or hour). Ultimately, it was nice to separate work from the stay. Our son loved running about the trees and exploring and discovery rabbits and deer. Fred and Patricia were so welcoming and full of easy going hospitality. We made lemon pies from their lemon tree (in our own kitchen in the guest house), relaxed poolside and had friends over for an afternoon swim and BBQ (part of the main house). We had dinner a few times in the back of the guest house with the little fountain on. Other times ate in town. We liked it so much we extended our stay 1 more day! We will be back for sure. Thank you Fred & Patricia!

Beautiful property and wonderful owners!

Fred and Patricia are most gracious hosts of this quiet and relaxing getaway. It is beautifully appointed and decorated and perfectly located in Healdsburg, convenient to everything, especially the Dry Creek area wineries! We had a wonderful stay and will most definitely return. Highly recommended!
