Charming, private waterfront getaway centrally located between Irvington and Kilmarnock, and nearby Tides Inn, Golden Eagle Golf Course, and the new Compass Entertainment Complex. KAYAK FLOATING DOCK and 3 KAYAKS for guests' use. Features huge, screened porch overlooking Taylor Creek with cushioned Adirondack seating and dining table for 6. Sundeck/gas grill off screened porch. Outdoor seating and railed deck on point for serene sunset views. Open and airy floor plan features great room with flat screen TV, dining table for 6-8, island kitchen with barstools, and 1st floor half bath. First floor master with king bed/ full bath. 2 large bedrooms up (1 Queen; 2 twin beds), each with private bath. Living areas and all bedrooms have water view. 2nd fl. TV loft. NO PETS/NO SMOKING. 15% discount for 7-13 night stay / 20% discount for 14 or more nights.

Fabulous house and location. The highlight was the excellent birding in the backyard and on the cove. Host was great and made our stay most memorable.

River vacation

Beautiful home - the descriptions and pictures are accurate. Accommodations were really comfortable and water access was great for kayaking and SUPing. The property is conveniently located near shopping and other interests.

Fantastic, relaxing, clean environment.

This is the nicest VRBO that we have ever enjoyed. It was exceptionally clean and loved the screened in porch and the dock area. The bedrooms were spacious and all had a view of the water. Fantastical!

Lovely house

This is not only a lovely property but also was well equipped with everything you need. Owners are exceptional. You can tell they have a love for hospitality. Very relaxing atmosphere and the neighborhood and nearby towns are more residential than they are tourist oriented.

Perfect Family Vacation

This property is just as described. The house is beautifully and comfortably furnished/decorated and impeccably clean. Views from every room are fantastic, and having an en suite bath for each bedroom is a terrific plus! The dock/water access was perfect for fishing and kayaking. This is a perfect location to enjoy the Northern Neck.

Everything was perfect. We enjoyed our stay at this property so much! The well appointed kitchen, the decorator's touch, and the screened in porch were just a few details that made us feel comfortable & happy. We hope to come back to this home in the future on another trip to Weems.

The Best of the Best!

The property gave us everything we expected and more; properly outfitted by the wonderful hosts, plenty of towels, dishes, glassware, utensils, etc., extremely clean, plenty of parking, very quiet location on the water and even kayaks for my daughters to enjoy. The location is just a short drive away to some wonderful restaurants and shopping. This is a top tier property! I can't wait to go back!!!

Anniversary Trip

An absolutely wonderful vacation home. The house is well equipped and the pictures do not do the house and property justice. My wife has described the place in one word, Awesome! Great location, easy commute to local wineries and breweries. Wonderful restaurants and groceries are near by. When back in the area we will not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you!

Beautiful House

We loved this house! We’re already missing the screened in porch. We spent countless hours on the porch reading, relaxing, and listening to either the birds or rain. The house was so clean and has all you need for a relaxing, enjoyable stay. You won’t regret booking this house :)

It’s a gem!

My wife and I stayed 5 wonderful days. The property had everything one could need on vacation. It was substantially better than any other property that we have stayed. There was only two occasions to contact Lynda both of which we received prompt responses. It deserves a rating greater than 5 stars! It was better than listing.

Best Rental Stay Ever

This is the best VRBO experience that we’ve ever had- from the proactive communication from the owners to the beautiful home to the easy check out process. The home itself is located at a wonderful site with a dock to use the available kayaks and paddle board. We walked in and marveled at how clean it is. We also enjoyed the decor and styling of the home. When we had visitors, they all commented on how beautiful and relaxing the home was. One visitor commented that she would like to stay there at a future date. Thank you to Lynda and Sandy for giving us a home away from home!

The perfect waterfront getaway!

WOW! Everything about this house and property is wonderful, as pictured and more! We needed some relaxation time by the water and that's exactly what we got. We enjoyed the peaceful water views sitting out on the deck and the screened porch. Thank you for the use of the kayaks, it was a fun way to explore Taylor Creek. We appreciated the amenities provided and had great communication with the hosts. We toured the local shops and antique stores in Kilmarnock, Irvington & White Stone and thoroughly enjoyed a wine flight at The Dog & Oyster Vineyard. Our family all agreed we'd love to come back and stay here again!

Great property and logistics

This is a new owner of a property that had many great reviews. We were a group of 5 adults and the 3 BRs and 3.5 baths worked great. We loved the peace and quiet, especially having coffee in the morning on the porch. The view of the river was ideal. We used the kayaks twice and the clever launching system made it easy to get in and out of them. We picked up lunch one day and ate at the table near the river, which was an unexpected plus. The laundry machines came in handy, too. Lynda made check in easy and was easy to work with. We wish her well with the new property.

Beautiful house, beautifully situated

The property was completely as advertised. It is a very lovely, beautifully maintained property and sits on a spacious piece of land with a beautiful view of Taylor Creek. We particularly enjoyed the kayaking from the excellent dock, and the very comfortably furnished screened porch. We had never been to the area before, so we were a little disappointed by how far we were from the ocean, but that really was our own fault for not checking the geography more carefully. Even with that disappointment, it was a lovely, and much enjoyed getaway. I would also note that the owner was extremely welcoming and immediately responsive to any questions or any issue that we had.

Exceeded Expectations

We have rented many places for our vacations. Some were as nice as described, and some were not as advertised. Our impression the moment we drove up was, Wow! This is so nice. We opened the door and as we looked around, we felt that this home was nicer than advertised. We loved the decor and the cleanliness, which is so important! It is a homie and comfortable house, and we certainly enjoyed our stay. The sunroom and the dock with its peaceful view, were two of our favorite places to hang out and relax. As a host, we found Lynda to be amazing and very thoughtful. The kitchen was well equipped, as was the rest of the house and the outdoor areas. We give this home five stars without any hesitation. We recommend it to others and would gladly stay here again.

We have stayed at VRBO rentals across the country and this was easily the most beautifully decorated, well equipped and comfortable home we've encountered. It is decorated and equipped as a home, not a rental. The owner was communicative and responsive. Highly recommended.

The cottage is almost too good to be true! It is absolutely beautiful -- inside and out. The home is lovely with a tasteful and comfortable decor. The kitchen is well stocked and anything you might need for cooking and a pleasant stay is provided. The property is beautifully landscaped with access to a creek - large enough to kayak (provided!) on - which is gorgeous. The setting is truly serene. There are many fun and historic places to visit nearby. Finally, the proprietor is a delight to deal with. Try it, you won't regret it!
