This 3 bedroom 2 bath penthouse at the Ilikai hotel was featured in the iconic Hawaiian television show Hawaii 5-0. It boasts expansive ocean views from Diamond to Ko Olina from its luxurious lanai. The view of the Friday night fireworks display from this massive balcony is spectacular! Treat yourself like a star and make some memories here that will last a lifetime!

This was the best for three couples in Waikiki. The location is amazing and the place is so cozy, would love to stay again. Also on Friday at 7pm there was a fireworks show across in the lagoon area, which had great views from the penthouse

Hawaii 5-0 Penthouse Condo

So simple to check in. Bypass the front desk at the Ilikai and enjoy the gorgeous view. Easy check in and out. Roomy and safe for children. The view is the best, the location is awesome, close to shops and groceries. Has a kitchen and washer and dryer that makes the stay even better. Loved the stay.

Stunning Views

What a wonderful stay! Just as advertised, the location was perfect and the view was spectacular. From the beautiful sunsets to the Friday night fireworks, we could not have been happier. Diamond Head views PH

The condo was absolutely beautiful. The pictures don't show you enough on what this property has to hold. The only thing we had an issues with was, it says it sleeps 6 people. In reality it only sleeps 4 comfortably. But other then that, there are no complaints. We would definitely rent again. Thank you

Breathtaking Views!!

The views in this Penthouse are even better in person. location of this unit to everything was perfect. Nice stocked kitchen. Entertaining space was very spacious. You are able to watch shows from the balcony which was also so nice. Where this unit fell short of expectations is a few simple maintenance issues. Pics have been sent and hopefully these few things will be addressed.

Beautiful View!

We really enjoyed our stay in this gorgeous penthouse condo. We celebrated my sister's 50th birthday and our group was all female (ages 22, 50, 56, 58 and 81). Conveniently located near dining, shopping, lagoon and beach. Great for watching the fireworks (Friday evenings at 7:45pm) from the Lanai. The kitchen had everything we needed in terms of servingware, utensils, pots & pans. Large dining table and couch - good for 5-6 people. Bedrooms and bathrooms are on the smaller side, but we don't spend a lot of time in those areas while on vacation, so not a big issue for us. Lobby level of the Ilikai has a shop where you can get groceries, toiletries and paper goods. Would definitely stay here again for a girls trip, 2 couples, or family vacation.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First let me say that the property was in great condition (could have been a little cleaner) but nothing to worry about. Check in and out was a breeze and great communication with property managers. If there was one downside to the stay it was the beds. All three were like sleeping on a rock so we camped on the couch which was ok. Tv instructions for each remote would help for people in the future. We would gladly stay here again though. Wonderful experience.

Property has great views; is dated and should have some artwork at a minimum. Clean but burned pan and dirty knifes. Had to purchase a pan to use. Frig did not keep food cold, but after call, repairman fixed. Security posted notices that someone compalined that we had placed bulky items in trash. Not so. Also that some one had smoked on the floor. Could be, but not us. Overall, great place for views. Air worked great. Good kitchen. Would stay again

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Aloha,For how Iconic this property is I would recommend the following. The only few things that require your attention is all 3 new beds. They are uncomfortable, give no support and extremely noisy every time any of us would move position in the bed in any of the rooms. None of us had a good nights sleep. Some of the tiles need to be replaced. The sliding doors need to be redone, too hard to open and close. Did not glide well at all. Hinges on all the cabinets need to be replaced with soft closed hinges. Solid doors need to be put on washer and dryer room. The current doors would jump off track every time we open them and provide no sound proofing when the washer and dryer are running which were loud. This property is basically a historic site and should be taken care of as such. Thank You. It was an impressive stay to do the Hawaii 50 theme and the Gilligan's Island Theme. Mahalo

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit is everything it appears to be from the pictures. Absolute best seats in the house for the Friday night fireworks show. We were a little concerned about reviews about the elevators in the Ilikai, but we had zero problems and the hotel is clean & beautiful. Our new bartender besties at Pesce restaurant upstairs were fantastic. Check in/out was super easy. The folks at Alii management were very professional, helpful & accommodating, they even brought up some brand new beach chairs and toys for us to use. My only gig might be that the furniture is a bit unimpressive though functional. For over a grand a night you might expect comfier beds and they could be a little more generous with amenities like shampoo, conditioner, wash soap & tp, etc. Also you need to provide a full set of wine glasses to go with the view. Location is perfect. All in all, we totally enjoy our stay here.

The view is a DREAM

I would give this place 5 stars. There really wasn’t much wrong with staying here after all your in Hawaii. This was our first time and I’m happy I got this place. The view is spectacular you can’t get any better. I think the price justifies the view. I have so many pictures from the balcony and I spent every night out there and my kids loved the fireworks on Friday night. A prior review stated the beds were hard and they are but we didn’t mind because we were so exhausted after each day we crashed. I booked this place with a washer and dryer so I could wash our swimsuits and clothes but the dryer didn’t seem to work very well. It just wouldn’t dry that great but again not a big deal not enough to make this any less than 5 stars. The location is great I loved the harbor front as well, very scenic. Close to the mall. Thank you for making this a memorable family vacation.

Great view but needs improvement

The view is great and it was a great location. We parked at the marina parking and paid in advance for parking and had in and out privileges. I would stay here again but there are a few things that need to be improved since it’s a “penthouse”. The air filters in the ac needs to be changed out. If you shut off the ac as it cools very well, there is a very foul sewer odor that permeates the air. If u turn the ac on then the odor goes away. The bathroom door lock has to be jiggled a certain way to lock it. The couch needs to be cleaned, it had an odor and black dust was falling off it when u moved a certain way. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. The door to the washer and dryer is very inconvenient since it is a sliding door. Besides these minor inconveniences we enjoyed our stay here.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful view. One can’t get much better! Everything with rental company went smooth. The Ilikai has some MAJOR electrical issues, I’m not sure of all the reasons but Cinnamons has been closed without notice due to it. The complex has been running on a backup generator for at least part of the complex, for sure the elevators since the issue started, say a month plus, not a wise safety choice. The back up generator failed the night before our departure and we were stranded on the 26th floor with a 80 year old confined to a wheelchair. We had no way of bringing them down the steps. The elevator between the 26th floor and the 30th floor was inoperable the entire stay. Good thing there was no emergency! The realty company was very understanding but were limited in what they could do. We had to stay an extra night confined to our room but was not charged. Thank you. The sad part was the manager was not on site to field questions and left it to the front desk personnel to field them. There was poor communication on when the elevators would be restored which created great anxiety on if and when we would get out. Customer service from the Ilikai was poor but realty company did what they could to help. If they upgrade the electrical distribution system I would stay again, until then, I would be Leary.

A Place to Stay

The hotel next door puts on a show every night and you can look down and watch,and be sure and see the fireworks on Friday night. The bedrooms are small as past reviews have said. It is like the penthouses in New York. They did add blackout curtains and must of changed the mattress as the beds were comfortable as one review complained. I would stay here again. Remember to add your valet parking to your budget. When you arrive, you pull up and sign up for valet parking for the days you stay. Now you can go and come as many times as possible a day you want. The metered parking cost more and you are not sure when you leave you have a place when you come back. A/C works great and cools the place fast when you turn it off to leave for the day. We had enough supplies that they provided to last. The negatives: place needs a remodel when it has time to close down for a few days. The master drain needs to be fixed as it is missing stopper, and the hair and jewelry can go down. The flooring tiles are chipped, and the door to washer/dryer needs an according door so you can empty washer and put in clothes in dryer. With sliding door you have to pile up wet clothes on dryer slide door to access dryer and then put clothes in dryer. The sofa cushions need to be cleaned. I have a very sensitive nose and a shampoo would do it. Making these improvements would make it feel more like paying for a penthouse room. This place has everything in the area. The beach, the pool, the market, restaurants, walking to stores. We only used car to go to events we booked.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo is outstanding. It probably has the best view in Waikiki with 180 degree view from Diamond Head to Kapolei. If you stay here on Friday night, you will have the best view in Waikiki of the Hilton fireworks. (View from your Lanai is better than the steakhouse upstairs!)Having said that, Ilikai is an old hotel/condo, so the rest of the facility is old and dated. While this room is excellent, the rest of the facility is less than optimal. Pools are small and crowded. (We did not use the pool at all.) We rented a car, but valet parking can be quite a challenge because the drive way is very narrow with many people trying drop-off or pick-up their car, or are being picked-up or dropped-off by their Uber/Lyft, and there are not enough valet attendants. (They are hard working, but there simply aren't enough of them!)If you decide to stay here, stock up on lots of food and drinks and don't leave your room!

Week long family trip

This location is great and the views spectacular . Large dust bunnies came out of the A/C units when they were first turned on and the ceiling in the kitchen was dusty. The rooms are rather small ,beds not very comfortable or sturdy my husband is 6’1 190 I thought the bed was going to break just when he was turning over in it. Kitchen only has a small bar sink which made it a little difficult to prepare meals and clean dishes. Also the tools in the kitchen were not very sufficient. This also made it difficult to prepare meals for 6 adults. If you’re not going to spend much time in the kitchen and don’t care about room space this place is for you.
