An unique 5* Villa with own pool and 7 bedrooms, newly refurbished in beautiful tranquil Alentejo, we believe originally a Historical Coaching Inn of wonderful vaulted ceilings reputed to have been favoured by Travelling & Hunting Aristocracy in years gone by. Giving your family both space and privacy which a Hotel cannot achieve! Come an enjoy this wonderful large stylish Villa set in peaceful and quiet surroundings enjoying its gardens with courtyard and many fruit trees.
Each of our 7 bedrooms benefit from having their own private bathroom with showers 2 Bedrooms do need to share bathrooms and there are 2 extra bathrooms are by the swimming pool we have good internet access (Starlink 50Mbp). Bedroom 5 is the master bedroom 2 steps to the pool and Bedroom 4 also has direct access to the pool. Rooms 3 and 2 have direct access to a private patio, whilst Room 1 has its own flower field garden, that it's lovely in the morning to enjoy the sun and cool in the afternoon.
All the rooms have access to the ultra modern Kitchen, the lounge area, the large dining room with traditional Alentejo furniture and of course, all can access the pool and gardens without having to disturb any of the other guests.
The large pool and inviting sundeck are the central point of the home. There is a lot of space for gathering for meals, chatting, of simply sitting in the deck-chairs as the sun recharges your batteries.
Our local village (Vimieiro) 5mins drive has an excellent convenience store, farmacy, clinic, garage, etc. to cover most needs. The larger towns of Evora and Estremoz (20 to 30 mins drive) have 4-5 larger supermarkets.
The main international airport is Lisbon (90mins drive).

Welcome to Monte da Estalagem. We are lucky enough to have found this wonderful, peaceful place, located in the small, quiet, country hamlet of Venda do Duque – nestled pretty much in the heart of everything that the Alentejo has to offer. Folklore suggests that the elite of yesteryear used to stop in Venda do Duque for a few days rest and peace after the stresses and strains of visiting important people in Evora. We haven’t been able to discover who may have visited – but we can attest to the areas ability to take away stress and deliver a sense of restfulness - something difficult to find in today’s modern world. Here we are happy to provide everything you may need for a week or longer with the family, a reunion with friends or the space to think through the details of the next corporate venture.

Monte da Estalagem is offered on a self-catering basis. There is a fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, hob, dishwasher, cutlery, crockery and equipment. Our local village (5 minutes’ drive) has an excellent convenience store, pharmacy, clinic, petrol station etc. to cover most of your needs. There are 3 or 4 major supermarkets in the towns nearby. Monte da Estalagem is fortunate enough to be able to provide a very modern kitchen available exclusively for the guests use. There is a hob and oven, a dishwasher, fridge/freezer and all the crockery and utensils you may require during your stay. This makes it ideal to prepare a quick breakfast, a light lunch at the pool – or even a full meal where you could all sit around the inside dining room table that seats ten, in the BBQ area or one of the terraces. We want you to think of this as your home-away-from-home, and with that in mind, all the necessary elements you might need are included. The local mini-market can be found in Vimieiro and there are all the large super-markets, delicatessens, butchers and other outlets in Estremoz and Evora.
