Worst Rental Ever

The property was not very clean - especially the floor. The whole house could use a thorough cleaning. The living room furniture needs to be replaced. The cost of the rental was way to high relative to the value of the rental. The rating for this property was way to high.

The house was clean, great setup for kids on side me on the other, a nice easy walk to the beach and the owners were very responsive when we had a question.

Will book again

I was very leery after reading many negative reviews. We only stayed one night and all 5 of us were comfortable. Its not a 5 star place but is worth what you pay and in a great location. Communication with management was wonderful, got back to me quickly with questions I had. Was able to get early check-in which helped us. Only negative would be the pool area had a few spider webs.

NOT AS LISTED

Pros: nice quiet area, close to beaches and amenities, large spacious house, manager did provide extra beach towels. Cons: property does not look as shown in listing, exterior yard/landscaping run down and sloppy, pool was unusable—green algae and enclosure was very dirty, interior floors were swept but not mopped, overall it is very outdated.

Mom/daughter trip

The location was great, the house was clean. It wouldn’t take much to make the place a little nicer! Supplies were a bit skimpy. Dishwasher available, but 2 wash pods for 5 days. Keurig available, but 2 K-cups. 1 thin white towel per person, Shower/pool etc. we needed to call for more toilet paper and bath tub plug. management was very responsive every time we called.

Fourth of July weekend

We were concerned about the condition of the pool. One of the main reasons we booked the property was the pool which looked great in the pictures but in reality there is so much dirt and debris it is nothing like the photos. In addition, there are so many spider webs and live spiders around the lanaei it is actually frightening. We are finding it hard to believe that the pool has been serviced weekly and also that a pest service company has been out any time recently with the sheer amount of webs and live spiders we spent quite a bit of money to have a nice relaxing pool to spend our weekend in and we are not finding that to be the case presently.

The place is a dump

The house and everything in it were in poor condition. When I opened a window, it came out of the track, and I ended up holding it. It was almost impossible to get in touch with the host, who did not give us a phone number and did not respond to our messages for two days, and then was not responsive to most of our concerns. I would never stay there again, and I hope anyone who reads this review will not make the same mistake we did.

Disappointing property

We are 2 couples in our late 50s and 70s. 1) property was old, not updated and barely maintained, i.e. greeted with a front screen door held together with tape, holes in wall covered with pictures, very old furniture, same kitchen from the 60s, unkept lawn) 2) there was a faint smell of something (maybe urine?) that was off putting. 3) in one bedroom the bead squeaked whenever someone moved keeping them up. Both mattresses were tired. 4) there was no TV (only a Roku with no services activated and a very small tv in the family room. 5) also, fyi: there was a camera in the porch We were only staying for 1 night so not worth changing. Note: property manager was great and helpful.

NEVER STAY HERE

Property was extremely poorly maintained. Dirty dishes in dishwasher, dirty appliances and dirty water in the coffee machine. Large cracks in the ceilings with plaster on the floor, broken furniture, rusty fixtures, peeling paint and broken fence. Musty smell in the house. We followed all rules and regulations, but made legitimate comments on the condition of the property to the host. Because of our concerns (which we have full picture documentation of)we asked for a reduction in the 4 day rental price. However, the host evicted us after one day without cause and in complete violation of VRBO rules. This was on Christmas weekend with no other locations easily available for rental. Terrible property. Rude and unprofessional host. Please stay somewhere else and save yourself the problems with this property.

Just what we needed

Communication with the host(s), Mark and Francine, was spot on from the get go. I had a couple of questions that were answered immediately allowing us to make the decision to choose this property. We are 3 adult couples gathering in Venice for a wedding on the beach. We wanted a place that would accommodate the 6 of us and be close to the beach for the wedding. We were also looking for an early check in as the wedding was early with the recent time change. That was no problem at all. In fact, the day of, they wrote that they hoped we enjoy the wedding. So thoughtful and kind. The accommodations allowed the 6 of us room to kick back and be comfortable. Everybody reported that the beds were also comfortable. Although the pool looked inviting, it was a bit too cool for us that evening to enjoy. The pool cage is in need of repair, which isn't surprising since they had just had a Cat 5 hurricane (Ian). The only other thing to note is that it is an older home and could use some updating. The updates do not in any way take away from the functionality of the home. It is extremely clean and well cared for. I would definitely stay here again. I think if you were coming to Venice to enjoy the beach and explore downtown, this would be a great place to call home. Thank you again Francine and Mark for a lovely stay and fantastic communication!
