TERVETULOA 515 Wood River Driveen, joka on yksi alkuperäisistä kalastuskodeista Ketchumissa, Idaho! Meillä on edessään Big Wood River, jolla on upea kalastus ympäri vuoden. Ja olemme vain lyhyen kävelymatkan päässä kaupungista, pyörätietä ja Bald Mountainia - Sun Valley -sarjan huippua upealla talvihiihdolla.

Aito, kauniisti säilynyt hirsitalomme on uusittu kokonaan: kaksi makuuhuonetta ja kaksi kylpyhuonetta yläkerrassa sekä iso makuuhuone ja alakerran kylpyamme. Olemme kuitenkin säilyttäneet alkuperäisen talon alkuperäinen hirsimökki. Olimme rakastuneet taloon, kun näimme sen ensimmäisen kerran; rakastamme sitä vielä enemmän laaja-alaisen ja huolellisen uusinnan jälkeen. Ja olemme yrittäneet tuoda sisälle osan ulkopuolelta, joka on historiallista ketchumia, ketchumia, jota rakastamme. Keittiön hickory-kaapit sulautuvat ulkoseinien tukkien väriin. Valkoinen laatta heijastaa lunta vuodenaikoina, kun taas metsänvihreä injektointi ja muut vihreät aksenttivärit - kuten vihreä nahka ja verhoilu olohuoneessa - heijastavat ikivihreitä ja ruohoa keväällä ja kesällä.

Noudattaessamme rakkauttamme taloon, jota haluamme jakaa kanssanne, löydät useita hauraita puuveisteyksiä - kaloja, majavia, pesukarhuja ja karhuja -, jotka tilasimme Montanan taiteilijan luomaan. Meillä oli toinen taiteilija, joka vangitsi Idahon tunnelman öljymaalauksista, jotka löydätte olohuoneessa, makuuhuoneessa ja käytävällä. Talo on kevyt ja aurinkoinen; ikkunoista on näkymät pihalle ja Big Wood -joelle. Se ei ole kovin suuri koti; hyvin harvat kodit tällä alueella, monet 70 vuotta vanhat ja jopa vanhemmat, eivät ole suuria… ainakin tämän päivän standardien mukaan. Mutta talomme on viehättävä ja viihtyisä.

Talo mukavasti nukkuu 6 vuodetta. Erityistapauksissa majoitamme jopa 8 henkilöä (tiedustele jos kiinnostaa).

Rakastamme koiria - minulla on etuoikeus omistaa itse kaksi ihanaa Goldenia - ja olemme suunnitelleet talon vastaamaan nelijalkaisten ystäviemme tarpeita ja turvallisuutta. Kiinteistö on täysin yksityinen ja kypsä puita ympäröi komea aita, joka tarjoaa täyden suojan lapsille ja lemmikkieläimille.

We enjoyed everything about our stay. Our toddler grandchildren visited and we had a great time in the backyard with them and the dogs. Fishing right across the street was good. The location was very convenient for getting a cup of coffee on the patio. Communications with the host were perfect. We hope to return.

Pet-friendly cozy log cabin decorated with many unique carved ducks, mountain and dog pictures. Had everything my wife and I needed for our 5 night stay, with our little dog (including a fenced in back yard.). Located across the street from homes that back to the river and walking distance to Wood River Trail. Convenient drive to town without being in town. Host was highly responsive regarding the couple of minor items we brought to her attention.

This is a warm and inviting home with ample space, a well equipped kitchen, and comfortable furniture and beds. It has character inside and out, and is located in a quiet corner of Ketchum that is within easy walking distance of town. Shaded and cooler in the warm summer months and cozy in the winter, it is a great spot all year long.

Mary Ann's house / cabin is warm, cozy and a step back in time in a lovely and serene way. Perfectly located directly across from wonderful hiking trails, a 5-minute walk to the gondola / ski mountain and a short (15 min) walk to the heart of Ketchum. The fenced, lush backyard was perfect for our dogs. Mary Ann is a conscientious host who made herself available even while on an international fly-fishing vacation. Already looking for dates to return!

Booked the yard for my Aussie! Did not disappoint! Fully & securely fenced so he could run around and we didn’t have to think twice about it. Loved how tucked back away from the hustle and bustle that west Ketchum can become in the summer. This meant our little self appointed neighborhood watch security guard never went on duty and so we all got a lovely serene vacation! Miss Mary is lovely and very responsive- had a slight snafu with the fridge and she was on it to get it resolved by the next day. House was filled with charm, incredibly clean and odor free and stocked with just about everything you’ll need to get settled in. Reminded me of the Ketchum I grew up in. Will be back!

Cozy cabin

We had the best time staying in this adorable, cozy cabin! It’s filled with so many memories and has such personality which makes the stay that much more fun. It’s a quick walk to town and to the bike path. The host could not have been more kind and communicative! Highly recommend for your next mountain stay, I know we’ll be back!

We love this place!

This was our second stay here and we enjoyed it equally well as the first. It has old house flavor with many modern comforts. The fenced yard is beautiful and the location an easy walk to the public trails. Mary Ann is a very attentive and accomodating host.

Bluebird Family Ski Retreat

Home made for a lovely respite for our Sun Valley mid-winter family weekend (Couple, plus husband/wife 2 teens). Layout was fantastic and location convenient to slopes and town! House was clean and has everything you need to cook - and then some. Appreciated the signage posted throughout (vs hunting in a guest book for information). Communication with the host was good with timely responses. The living room sofas are somewhat tired. Primary negative about the home is the beds are exceptionally FIRM. As others have mentioned, there are lots of books to peruse and limited space to store groceries (outside the fridge). Overall, very comfortable. Enjoyed our stay.

Amazing location, met our needs.

The property is located right near the roundhouse gondola and a short walk into town. The place was exactly as the reviews said. Felt like staying at Grandma’s cabin in the woods. There is a lot of stuff on every surface of this cabin. Not sure who is staying long enough to read the 200-300 books, would have loved a few more games and puzzles. The overall cleanliness was less than desired. It is a pet friendly house, and it showed. There was a lot of dog hair on the couch and things just felt a little dirty. The upstairs is very tight with angled doors and ceilings, but worked great for our kids. As long as you expect an eclectic little cabin, that clearly allows dogs, and is in a great location, this is a great place.

Ketchum Hospitality!

Authentic, historical, comfortable and welcoming. Fenced yard and outdoor terrace area is really terrific - private and secure! Plenty of parking space, room for bikes and equipment storage. Location is lovely and quiet with nature trees. Well set-up for our active family.

Grandma's log cabin in the woods

It is difficult to find a property where dogs are welcome, and we were grateful to find this house. Mary Ann is a very attentive host. When we left early because the internet speed is super slow and the pillows are hard/compressed/very uncomfortable, she said she would get right on fixing these issues. I would also say the whole house needs a serious decluttering: too many knicknacks, especially decoy ducks, too many books piled everywhere, and too many kitchen things. One or two of each kind of kitchen utensil is enough, as are one or two cutting boards - not half a dozen of each. Food cupboard is overflowing, expiration dates need checking. Lots of pots and pans - really way too many. Yard is beautiful, great location.

Ketchum Wedding

My wife and family were in the Ketchum area for a few days and we brought out two Labs. Regardless of the dogs being very well accommodated, the house and location was nearly perfect. We loved the home, area and accessibility it offered us. If you are a cook, you will find more than your average 'rental' kitchen stock. As there is no perfect possibility in some minds, I would consider bringing an updated bedroom pillow. The provided comfort was basic as one could expect. But we loved the comfort. Thanks for the rental.

Charming log cabin walking distance to town

We loved the proximity of this cabin to downtown Ketchum and to the bike path and the river. it’s within walking distance to River Run lodge as well. We enjoyed hanging out in the yard. Very homey mountain log cabin.

Unfortunately, our stay was not like we expected, but it had nothing to do with the host. We were supposed to be a family of five, but none of our children made it due to flight and airport issues, so it was just my husband and myself. The house was great.. We didn’t need the upstairs bedrooms after all

Mary Ann Peters grew up in Northern California, a member of an old California family, who enjoyed fly fishing, backpacking and skiing in the west with its Golden Retrievers. Upon receiving her PhD, she moved to Palo Alto, California where she has lived and worked, lecturing on marketing at the MBA level, running a high tech consultancy, and participating on boards.

As a youngster, her family would vacation in the Sawtooth region where they hiked, fished, and skied in the winter. She developed her love for down hill skiing on Bald Mountain (Baldy) in Sun Valley. Once the family was grown, she and her husband purchased a gem in Ketchum; one they remodeled over 15 years. It was important to the family, to maintain the ‘look’ and ‘feel’ of old Ketchum even though they completely updated the property.

One can enjoy an extensive book collection while relaxing in a home not a vacation rental house. The property was remodeled with one thing in mind: guests should feel comfortable as if they were in their own home. And if one likes to cook, he/she will find almost every cooking gadget he/she requires. The large, fenced backyard is safe for children and dogs whom we welcome. The property is fertilize with organic, safe products; no chemicals. From the picnic table one has beautiful views of Baldy and one of the 30, lovely evergreen trees that line the property. The bike path is minutes from the house. One can walk to town in 10 minutes or ‘skip’ down the path to River Run to join the Bald Mountain hiking trail or jump in the River to cast a line. The house is conveniently located for all types of activities provided by The Sun Valley Company (Summer Symphony, music concerts, ice skating, hockey, gallery walks, and more). Biking, mountain biking, fly fishing, skiing, hiking, and walking are just of some the outdoor activities that are available within minutes from the house. And if one wants to stay ‘home’ one can relax, read, or sit at the picnic table and enjoy the views and weather.
