Modern Home, Private Jacuzzi, Rooftop Deck w/ Ocean View

Three bedroom, 2-story private home with PRIVATE JACUZZI, enclosed private parking (w/ your own garage door), rooftop deck with views of ocean & islands, gas grill, and outdoor living area complete w/ string lighting for the evening. Located in a gated community with security, right off the toll road, across the highway from San Antonio del Mar & the beach, 10 minute drive to downtown Rosarito restaurants, bars, Papas & Beer. Nice neighborhood w/ park for kids. We're dog friendly too!

This is a great place to come for a Baja vacation. Feel safe and secure in a private gated community near the beach. Enjoy time with family and friends on the outdoor patio or rooftop deck.

The downstairs has a comfortable living room with a flat screen TV so you can watch Netflix, movies, etc. when you're home. The bright white kitchen opens onto a dining room table w/ seating for 6. There's a newly remodeled, sparkling clean half bathroom (w/ toilet & sink but no shower) downstairs. The kitchen is stocked with a microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, pots & pans, etc. There's no oven for baking, but there is a stove for cooking. There's also a charcoal grill outside ideal for a backyard barbecue. The carniceria down the street from the community sells all you need for a delicious barbecue.

The patio downstairs is a great place to relax and unwind in the private jacuzzi and the comfortable seating area. There's also a half-bathroom (toilet & sink) downstairs.

Upstairs, you'll find the 3 bedrooms (one doubles as an office so the bed is a fold out couch). The most spacious room has a Queen bed and a small flat screen TV. The study has a comfortable Queen size sofa bed. The third bedroom sleeps a lot of people! It has a bunk bed with a single on top, a double on the bottom, and a pull-out trundle bed underneath that can sleep another 2 people. The upstairs bathroom has a shower but no tub. It was just remodeled and is modern, bright, and clean.

The study opens onto a spiral staircase that will bring you up to the rooftop deck, where you can see the ocean and the islands off the coast. There's a table on the roof, great place to have margaritas and chips. You can also relax on the sofa or catch some sun in the lounge chairs on the deck.

We ask that you please book for the correct number of guests as we charge a lower fee when there are fewer people in the home, and we only allow the number of people you indicate in your reservation.

We offer an optional heater because it can get chilly at night. It operates with propane—if you’re interested you would pay $20 for me to fill up the propane tank. Completely optional but many of our guests have been glad to have the extra warmth!

You'll have private access to everything you see in the pictures. No shared spaces.

I'm a local doctor, grew up in the U.S. but have been living in Rosarito for over 10 years. Happy to point you in the right direction & share tips about my favorite places to eat and things to do in Baja.

Located in the community of Hacienda del Mar, across the toll road from San Antonio del Mar (about a 10 minute drive to downtown Rosarito). It's a nice community with its own park--great for kids if you're traveling with a family. You can walk down to a small shopping center (@ 15-20 minute walk) with a pizza place, a take-out restaurant, a local bar, a carniceria, an Oxxo (a mini-mart like 7-11). There's also a gym right inside the community (across from the park), and you can buy a day pass if you want to work out there.

The drive to Papas & Beer and downtown Rosarito's many restaurants and bars is about 15 minutes; to Puerto Nuevo (Lobster Town) is about 30 minutes.

I recommend having a car when you visit because it will make getting around easier, but I've had many guests get around by taxi & Uber so that's also an option.

We are pet friendly, so you're welcome to bring your dog(s). We do charge an additional $50 cleaning fee for pets so that we can properly disinfect after your stay. We'll send you a request for the additional $50 pet fee after you book.

We have a portable propane heater that we offer on an optional basis if you would like to stay extra warm. There is an additional $20 fee for this amenity in order to fill the propane tank.
Getting Inside
There's a gray door next to the garage door that will be unlocked. Walk inside & you'll see the front door of the house.

Unlocking the Front Door
I'll send you a 4 digit code you'll use to unlock the front door (it's keyless entry). Enter the 4 digit code and hit the Kwikset button. You'll hear the door unlock. Wait until it finishes unlocking to open the door.

Parking
You can park in the driveway & close the garage door for complete privacy. If you have additional cars, there is street parking right across from the house.

# of Guests
Please be sure you have included the correct number of guests on your reservation. If you are found with additional guests on the property, you will be charged double the normal extra person fee for each additional guest. Same with pets--if you are bringing a pet, please be sure it is reflected on your reservation. You can modify your reservation to include a pet or to change the number of guests any time.

Jacuzzi
We hope you enjoy the jacuzzi during your stay. It can take an hour or two to heat up, depending on the starting temperature. To heat up the jacuzzi, turn on the breaker switch that's located in the gray box on the wall, and then use the control panel on the jacuzzi to set the temperature you want. Let the jacuzzi run for an hour or two (with the top on) and check to see if you like the temp. If you would like to warmer, leave it heating up for another hour or so. Please be sure to keep the top on the jacuzzi when it's warming up & when it's not in use to preserve the heat. When you're not using the jacuzzi, please turn the temperature down to 80 degrees. If you leave the jacuzzi temp high for too long, it will overheat and will stop working. Jacuzzi hours are until 10pm and no children in the jacuzzi for safety reasons please.

Getting Around
I recommend having a car for your visit because it's about a 10 minute drive (give or take) to get to shops, restaurants, and bars in downtown Rosarito. There are some great places in the neighborhood surrounding the home in case you don't feel like driving far. And if you come without a car, you can use Uber (although it can sometimes take a while for an Uber to arrive).

Breakfast
For breakfast nearby, I recommend Conrado's (especially their rooftop deck). It's located right at the entrance to the San Antonio del Mar community, just across the bridge that goes over the toll road.

On the weekends, Mi Casa Supper Club (also located near the entrance to San Antonio del Mar) is a nice place to go for brunch.

Down the coast, La Fonda and Ruben's are great spots for all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch.

Dinner & Drinks
If you want to stay close, there are a few good options for food & drinks. Mi Casa Supper Club has a beautiful rooftop deck & is a nice place to get drinks and appetizers while enjoying the sunset.

Mata Ashta has great sushi & has a bar that's open late. They often have late-night tacos right outside. Mata Ashta is located in the strip of stores and restaurants at the entry to San Antonio del Mar.

Food Delivery
Fillippi's Pizza is located in the shopping center with the Oxxo at the bottom of the hill. They deliver pizza, salad, wings & more and are familiar with Hacienda del Mar. Their phone number is 664-631-3895. If you're dialing from a US phone, dial Mexico's country code 52 first.
