Located in the historic town of Barre, just off the Commons is this unassuming, yet sprawling property. This house features five bedrooms, six bathrooms, seven fireplaces, a large lodge-like family room that doubles as a game room, equipped with pool, foosball, and air-hockey tables as well as a pinball machine and retro arcade games.

Enjoy the day inside or outside! Relax in the indoor heated pool in front of a grand fireplace or entertain outside on the backyard patio with an outdoor grilling station. The mansion comes fully stocked with all of your kitchen needs as well as plenty of bedding and towels for your stay. Please inquire about local catering if interested in continental breakfast or a stocked fridge and pantry upon arrival.

Attending a wedding nearby? We are walking distance to the historic Harding Allen Estate and 4 miles to Hartman’s Herb Farm.

I cannot say enough about this place. We had 12 family members for Thanksgiving and absolutely everyone loved it!!! There was plenty of room. Susan was receptive to any communication. However, everything you need is already there.

Really cool house with tons of space. Stayed here with our bridal parties for a wedding weekend. Communication with the host was a beyond frustrating process to get a response. We had to contact customer service multiple times. We finally got a phone number for the host, who would only answer some texts but had no follow-through. The host knew we were staying there for a wedding (not on the property) and agreed to an early check-in for a charge but didn't send the invoice. No check-in information was sent until after an hour on the phone with customer service and multiple calls and texts to the host, and an hour after the agreed-upon early check-in. This was stress we didn't need on our wedding weekend. We tried taking pictures outside and the yard was filled with poop EVERYWHERE. The pool was pretty chilly and didn't smell or look clean. No remotes for gas fireplaces worked. Thankfully, we didn't need the elevator because we were told it was broken. Ultimately, everything worked out and it was a really cool house, and customer service reimbursed us for the charge for early check-in since the host was late for that.

This house is a truly stunning piece of Massachusetts’ history. It’s updated, sprawling, and immaculate. My family and I stayed here for the duration of our daughter’s wedding weekend at the Harding Allan Estate. There is abundant space for both relaxation and fun.There are many bells, whistles, and specifics. I’d recommend writing them all down for the people who stay with you so that they can quickly and easily access the rules and gentle requests, especially if you are not going to be at the house with your guests 100% of the time during your stay. I did not do this, but wish I had. Suzy, the hostess, is warm and gracious. She was very understanding of all of our needs and super easy to communicate with.If you choose this home, you will not be disappointed with the accommodations!

The property was great, except for the fact that we were unaware that the elevator was off limits before we got there, which my parents were looking forward to. Otherwise,everything was as advertised and Susan was responsive to all our inquiries. It was a great experience/vacation.

The house is lovely, we enjoyed the pool, the game rooms were great for the grand kids. Would have liked a larger TV in the living room off the kitchen. And the elevator working would have saved my knees going up and down the stairs.But I would stay here again if I was ever in the vicinity.

Amazing property

We stayed here for a long weekend as our son was getting married at the Harding Allen Estate which is a 3 minute drive from this home. We couldn’t have been more pleased with everything this home has to offer. It rained almost the entire time we were there but it didn’t matter because this place had so much to do for all of us. Game room, pool, BBQ area (we did cook-out in the rain!). Bedrooms were clean and comfortable. All bathrooms were clean and well maintained. We had travelers from Idaho, Virginia and California stay with us and they enjoyed the “home-feeling” when they arrived. So much better than getting 5 or more hotel rooms. We can’t say enough nice things about the home and the owners.

This was the perfect location for our family to celebrate our son's graduation from WPI. This historic house was spacious enough for our extended family. The house is beautifully decorated and well-maintained. The check-in process was smooth, and communication with the host was prompt.

Great accomodations for large group

We had a group of 12 stay at 28 Kendall for a relaxing weekend. The property was ideal for sharing large meal meals and a great launching off point for hikes in the area (We did Brooks Woodland Preserve which was phenomenal)Suzy was responsive and helpfulNeighbors sharing the backyard was a surprise. Our stay was very positive. It was a family getaway, and we were all able to stay in the house and enjoy each other. We choose this particular property because we had our grandchildren and wanted an indoor pool and game room. This house accommodates both. We had the pleasure to meet the owner, and she went above and beyond for all of us. If we had any questions, she was a phone call away. We would definitely consider going back. We would highly recommend this property to other families.

Exactly what we needed

This was a great property, and suited our needs perfectly. Expansive, but be prepared for cooler than expected pool water. That said, the surrounding pool area was very warm. The fireplaces that we looked were a perfect addition, and once they get the rest of them figured out, the ambiance will be even better. 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking to have a quaint getaway with a bunch of friends and family.

Wonderful

The house was gorgeous. I knew it was big but it felt even larger when we arrived. My wife loved the layout of the kitchen and we enjoyed the pool area. Not sure if the pool is supposed to be heated but the water was a little colder than I was expecting at first but it was still refreshing. The kids enjoyed playing in the loft area and game room. It looked like a nice little town as well but we unfortunately didn't have a lot of time to explore. Hopefully there will be a next time for us to be in that area and if so I would definitely consider this house again.

Great Place

My family and I stayed here for Thanksgiving for the second year in a row. The home is very spacious and comfortable for large groups. Everything you need for the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom are supplied as well as plenty of towels for the pool. All you have to bring is clothes and food. The host is very nice and easy to work with.

Early Thanksgiving

We brought all generations together for a luxurious stay in this perfect place. Kids and adults alike were thrilled for this second time around. Spotless, had all we needed to cook big meals. Our focus was family and it was a true joy to be together in this wonderful space, which allows for lots of different groupings …some come swim, some could hand, some in the game room, or simply easily nap in a quiet bedroom. Absolutely amazing

This property is everything and more than in the listing! So many little details that made it feel like home instantly! It is immaculately well-kept, and well stocked with the necessities and then some! And Suzy was incredible- communication was great, easy to follow and reasonable house instructions, and she even offered to bring anything we needed by! really a gem both owner and property!!!
