Yhteenveto:
Tule uppoutumaan auringonlaskuja Lake Michigan omasta kuisti. Talo näkymät Lake Michigan yksityinen ranta käden ulottuvilla. Täydellinen paikka perheen yhdistäminen. Nauti kokkoja, auringonlaskuja Lake Michigan, ui virkistävä järvi, hyvä kirja riippumatossa tai kotitekoisia pizzoja. Talo on täynnä taidetta omistaja, joka on lasten kirja kuvittaja. Perusteet ovat suuria ja hyvä niille, jotka haluavat viettää aikaa kannella ryhtyy näkemykset. Omaisuus on täynnä hauskoja aktiviteetteja lapsille viihdyttää itseään koko päivän.

Talo:
4 makuuhuonetta ja 3. 5 kylpyjä. Talo on kolme kerrosta ja 3000 sq. Jalkaa. Nukkuu 13 ihmistä. Maanpinnan on nukkuva kammio on 5 vuodepaikkaa ja oma kylpyhuone. Tärkeimmistä tasolla on suuri ja avoin keittiö ja ruokasali. Ruokapöytä istumapaikkaa 10. Keittiö on tilava, suuri ryhmä, joka tykkää kokata yhdessä. Tärkeimmistä tasolla on takkahuone joka on peilikiilto näkymät järvelle, täydellinen paikka katsella auringonlaskua. Tämä taso on suuri kuisti, joka kiertyy etelään ja länteen puolin talon. Tämä kuisti on hyvä paikka helppo ja kaunis ulkona aterian.
Kolmannessa kerroksessa on 3 makuuhuonetta ja 2 täyttä kylpyammeet. Makuuhuone parivuode kasvot Lake Michigan ja on oma kylpyhuone. Voit katsella kuun yli järven koko yön makuuhuoneessa. Toisessa makuuhuoneessa on king size-vuode ja osakkeet kylpyhuone kolmas makuuhuone. Kolmas makuuhuone on queen-vuode ja yhden hengen vuode. Tällä tasolla on pienempi kuisti päin länteen.

Perustelut:
Koti istuu 2 1/2 hehtaarin. Takapiha on kokki paratiisi! Alle rypäleen lehtimaja on grilliherkkuja, pizza uuni, ja ulkoterassi 20. Poimia yrttejä yrttitarha aterian ja katsella kukat kasvavat. Wrens ja tuulikello koristavat lehtimaja. Vieressä rypäleen Arbor on kiipeilyteline lapsille.
Perusteet ovat lasten ihmemaa. On 15'x30 "konkreettinen koripallokenttä, jättishakki, apina baareja, keinut ja katso näki. Lapset on hauskaa ulkopuolella päiviä.
Sillä aikuiset on riippumattoja, kannet, elämän vartija tuoli, kokko kuoppia ja Adirondack tuolit nauttia järvinäköala ja lämmin tuulet.

Pääsy rannalle:
Etupiha johdattaa 100 metrin yksityinen ranta. On portaikko kaiteet, jotka johtavat pihalta rantaan. Bluffi on tummennetut kuisti täydellinen rentouttava iltapäivä. Keksikää rannalta ja huuhtele pois ulkosuihku.

Alue:
Olet kävelyetäisyydellä surullisen Michigan mustikoita (voit valita). Talo on 5 minuutin ajomatkan päässä South Haven josta löydät maanviljelijöiden markkinat, historiallinen elokuvateatteri ja hienoja ravintoloita. 2 meripeninkulmaa etelään talon ovat Van Buren State Park Dunes. Ympäristö on hiljainen ja omaisuus on hyvin yksityinen.

Kesäkuukausien aikana talo on vuokrattu viikoittain lauantaista lauantaihin. Sisäänkirjautuminen on 04:00 lauantaina ja check out on lauantai 10:00.

First-Time family get away

My family (six adults and two dogs) had an absolutely wonderful time here at Sandcastle. The home is exquisite, comfortable, and exceeded our expectations. South Haven is just minutes away. We look forward to returning to Sandcastle.

Amazing property, amazing views

What a special property! When you have views and lake access like this it’s hard to want anything more, but the amenities (so many bikes!), the grounds, the pizza oven and the amazing owners take this to the next level - thank you Wendy and John! Clean, well-stocked kitchen and plenty of room for our 8 adults and 2 dogs. Also close to a bike path that connects to South Haven on one side and the dunes in another direction.

Lake Michigan serenity

The views were breathtaking, the home was perfect for our family and pets. We spent many hours outdoors around the campfires, cooking in the wonderful kitchen and enjoying the very impressive artwork of John’s and Wendy’s throughout the home. The pizza oven was such a treat too! Would love to return again!!

Wonderful family gathering!

What an amazing property! My sister, brother and parents all stayed with our families! The house and property are magical. Lots of fun things to do outside. The kitchen was well stocked and we loved trying the pizza oven. Wendy and John were amazing hosts and even gave an art lesson which was a huge hit. We stayed in October for a long weekend and hope to come back during the summer to enjoy the beach more! Highly recommend!

Awesome place for a family!

We loved our stay at Sandcastle! We had four generations staying at the house, ranging in ages from 3 to 94, and it was a fantastic place with lots of activities, both indoors and outdoors for the kids. The private beach was amazing, and a new staircase from the property to the beach made it easy to use. There are lots of places to sit and enjoy the view of the lake. Our 6 and 11 year old granddaughters wanted to live there! The owner, Wendy, gave two of the kids drawing lessons, and she couldn't have been nicer. It is a very secluded place with tons of activities for kids. If you want nature and isolation along with a great adventure for everyone, Sandcastle is the place to go!

Absolutely beautiful location. Multiple gorgeous views. Evening sunsets with the sound of the gentle waves right there. Beautiful warm home. Great kitchen! Great, comfy, supportive beds. Everything you need. Wendy and John are excellent hosts! Beautiful art. Great books! Great quiet neighborhood with easy very quick access to beaches, etc, and no crowds. Lovely town. Hard to leave. Thank you Wendy and John for creating a beautiful environment.

Magical

From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for something special. The Sandcastle offers incredible views of Lake Michigan. Whether sipping morning coffee on the deck or watching the sunset, the scenery never failed to captivate us. All of our children were overjoyed with the amenities! From the children's books, dollhouse, swings, playgrounds there was never a dull moment. The hosts truly thought of everything. The well-maintained grounds were a delight. We explored the gardens, had a picnic on the beach and made our own wood-fired pizza. It felt like our own private paradise. Wendy and John were warm, welcoming, and attentive. They made sure our stay was comfortable and memorable. Their genuine care added an extra layer of magic to our vacation. We can't wait to return.

Wonderful hosts and very special property

Our family (ages 4 to 76) spent July 14-20 at this special property. Everything was even better than the photos. The home is filled with Wendy’s beautiful artwork. Our 10-year-old granddaughter said she wished she could live there forever. Wendy and John went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and accommodate our needs. They even purchased a cushioned deck chair so our oldest family member would be more comfortable. Wendy’s drawing lessons were a big hit, especially with our 7-year-old grandsons. Our grandkids enjoyed hammocks, playground and basketball court. The beach was beautiful and the sunsets were amazing. South Haven is a short drive away ( less than 10 minutes to a big grocery store). John helped us with the outdoor pizza oven and Wendy provided a recipe for pizza dough. Perfect meal for our last evening at the Sandcastle. Wonderful memories.

Great for a crowd!

This place is even better than it looks in the listing. Wendy is committed to her guests having a great stay, and we did. Being right on the beach is amazing, with so many place to gaze at the lake. The beach is clean and large enough for more than 10. The yard has so many activities for all ages—we had some cool weather, but were outdoors a lot. The house is full of art, toys, craft materials, large places to gather, and the most well-stocked kitchen I’ve ever seen in a rental—cookware, utensils, herbs and spices—we lacked for nothing. There’s even an herb garden we were encouraged to use. I highly recommend this beach house if you want to have fun.

Fantasyland with a Beach!

If we could give 6 stars, we would! the property is like having a resort all to yourself. The house was awesome, and had so much character thanks to the personal artistic touches in every room. Big and spacious, yet very cozy and warm. The beach is fantastic, and we really lucked out wit 4 straight days of sun and warmth late in September. Even the lake was plenty warm for swimming and Frisbee tossing. But, perhaps the best part was the hosts. The Halperins are truly the kind of people you feel enriched after meeting. Not only are they two of the nicest people you'll ever meet, they are also very interesting to chat with. Without question, we will return!

Magical vacation

We stayed a week with our children and grandchildren to celebrate our 60th anniversary. The house was so well equipped with all the kitchen appliances, dishes, glassware and paper supplies that we needed. There were so many activities for the kids to enjoy and the adults certainly made use of the many hammocks. Our week was magical in this whimsical place. There was a sturdy, easy to climb stairway to a fabulous beach where all week we only saw only 3 other people. The hosts, Wendy and John could not have been more welcoming. We had no problems and enjoyed every day spent on the park like, sculpture filled grounds. Wendy even gave our grandchildren an art lesson. This place is even better than the photographs. We have stayed at numerous VRBOs and this was by far the best!

Wonderful family vacation

This place is amazing. My family of 7 adults and 5 kids ages 1 1/2 to 8 had non-stop fun. The pictures on the website don’t do this place justice. You drive in and the sculpture garden takes your breath away before you are 50 yards into the property. There are swings, hammocks, teeter totters, a jungle gym, a play house and a puppet show arena for the kids. For the adults, there is a pizza oven and outdoor dining area that we used twice. Also a large dining table on the porch that we used a lot and a big kitchen that was the focal point for a lot of the week we stayed. The beach had a new stairway built to access it and we had a lot of fun looking for rocks and swimming. (Bring water shoes as the water line is quite rocky). The host live on the 2.5 acre property but don’t get in your way at all. In fact, Wendy and John were a pleasure to get to know and I actually sought them out a couple of times to talk as they are both quite interesting. Wendy has an art school on property and gave our entire family an art lesson. They were quick to fix any minor issues immediately. We all discussed coming back again in the future.

fabulous time at the Sandcastle

Thank you, Wendy and John, for a terrific experience! We had 8 adults (4 couples) and a toddler. Each couple had a private room except for the toddler. There is plenty of seating/dining space for everyone, with a large kitchen table, a long picnic table on the deck overlooking lake michigan, and a long table under a pergola next to the fabulous wood-fired pizza oven (we cheated and bought dough from a local pizza shop). We used the deck-top fire pit overlooking the lake every night. The kitchen was well stocked for large-scale cooking. We brought some pans, knives, etc, which proved unnecessary. The hosts were attentive and responsive and live within sight of the property. The refrigerator was not cooling properly when we arrived, and the hosts quickly brought over a temporary replacement refrigerator. They immediately brought over a replacement grill when we pointed out a problem with the existing one. They also helped us to fire up the pizza oven and provided helpful instructions. The property is huge and park-like, with swings, climbing structure, 1/2 basketball court, and shed with bikes (and pump) and beach chairs. There is a nice sand beach, but the waterline to about 15 feet offshore is quite rocky (about 2" rocks) so bring your water shoes. Be sure to ask John to show you his marble sculptures and ask Wendy about her clay sculptures of NYC subway riders. Her beautiful children's book illustrations are framed throughout the house.

Wonderful thanksgiving together with friends at this lovely lakefront home.

Definitely recommend this house for families with kids, there is so much to do outside even in colder weather. The only complaint is that the oven is a little small, but we still managed to fit the turkey inside.

wonderful trip

Absolutely loved our stay here. Hosts were super nice and helpful. House quirky, large and equipped with everything we needed. Property gorgeous with plenty to do for everyone. We spent most of our time outside playing, walking on beach, going to nearby sand dunes. So fun. Will definitely be back and recommend this to anyone.

Art is everywhere you look!

Inside of this home and outside, there is beauty everywhere! In the kitchen, you will see lavishly painted chairs at a charming, large table; on the wall, you might see the larger-than-life self portrait of the owners' daughter; on the table before the giant picture window, you might find a beautiful sculpture of a wren. No corner is left without whimsy and creativity. This is not a 5 Star hotel accommodation, it is a home. You will not find thick Egyptian towels, expensive soaps and a spa, but what you will find will stay with you forever. Beyond the creativity of the owners is the landscape. No matter what the season (we visited in Autumn this year) the lake never disappoints. The night we arrived was blustery and cold, with whitecaps everywhere. The next morning, the lake was more calm, and a gorgeous green. That evening, the lake turned to diamonds before a stunning sunset. In the Summer, the outdoor spaces are terrific! Private beach, several tables and chairs, even an outdoor bathtub! Also on the grounds, lots of playing areas for young children (swings, large sculptures, a chess board). If you are lucky, you might get a chance for a drawing lesson with Wendy. She believes everyone has taken for drawing (I never thought I did) and believe me, she is such a talented and dedicated teacher, by the end of your lesson you will believe her! You will actually create some small masterpieces of your own to take home. Honestly, this is the most welcoming, beautiful place I have ever seen on VRBO. The town is close, lots of restaurants to choose from, but a well-appointed kitchen and wood-fired pizza over are on the grounds. We even had an impromptu tea party, with home-baked scones, marmalade, clotted cream and radish sandwiches -- such a lovely afternoon. If you value creativity, beauty and whimsy, this is definitely the place for you. Art is everywhere you look and if you are lucky, you will even find it within yourself!

Magic!

This property is just magic for adults and children alike! My 3 and 6 year olds had a ball playing with everything that was available both inside and outside. Wendy was kind enough to give us all an art lesson, plus a bunch of art supplies that she generously sent home with us. The home is well equipped with comfortable beds, and just about anything you would need (extra pillows, blankets, towels, etc.) We felt very welcome there and hope to return again soon!

Lovely Stay in South Haven Area

We quite enjoyed our stay. The house is large, and has plenty of sleeping options, especially for families. It is well supplied for large groups--big tables, lots of dishes & utensils. The lake view is spectacular. The high water & beach erosion that has affected the entire Lake Michigan shoreline means that you have to go a little north (to South Haven) or south (there is a state park & also a little preserve area) for a beach just now, but these are not too far. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

I, Wendy Anderson Halperin am a children's book illustrator and have artwork from children's books in the house. My husband John is a stone sculptor and storyteller . We work and travel a great deal in the summers because of our work so we love having families enjoy the peace and beauty the lake offers. One daughter is a dancer so we built a dance floor/deck in front of the house . It is also a very nice place to sit, do yoga etc. Our son is a restaurant manager so he built the pizza oven in the east part of the property. Our guests love the adventure of making pizzas outdoors. We have books, recipes and tools to make the experience fun. Our other daughter is a textile designer and so her art is also in the house. If you enjoy hand made this house all about hand made.

You will love the OUTSIDE as much as the INSIDE. We have a bike house filled with bikes and outdoor games, kayaking, paddle board and more. Put up a volleyball net , play spike ball, baseball, basketball, giant chess, giant checkers, swings, teeter-totters , bocci ball and much more. We have a playhouse for small children. It is filled with bowls, plates, cooking utensils and toys for hours of amusement.
