Welcome to "The Crescent," our heavenly haven on Lake Wedowee!
Every aspect of The Crescent has been lovingly curated to cultivate R&R of mind, body, and spirit, making it the perfect escape and place to reconnect with friends, family, and nature. Located in a quiet neighborhood (*no disruptive parties allowed*), this 5-bedroom home boasts a large covered deck with big water views, spectacular sunsets, a 7-person hot tub, and a lakeside gazebo and dock on a private cove!

Enjoy your morning cup of coffee on the large, covered deck overlooking the lake. A gently-sloping path leads to the water, where you can fish from the dock, float in the cove, or venture forth on our paddleboards to explore miles of undeveloped coastline. Read a book, take a nap, or watch the sun set and the moon rise from the queen-size, hanging bed swing in the lakeside "Lunar Lounge." If boating is your thing, rent a pontoon from nearby Wedowee Marina South, or launch your own boat from the neighboring public boat ramp and tie up right at our dock. After a full day of playing on the lake, gather around the 9-foot farm table for cards and board games, then head to the firepit to grill smores. Just steps away beckons the outdoor hot tub with beautiful lake views, where you can submerge and stargaze the night away.

The main level of the home consists of an open family room with a large sectional, 9-foot farm table, kitchen, master bedroom with ensuite bath, and 2 guest bedrooms served by a separate guest bathroom. The family room opens to a 2-story covered deck with a comfortable seating area and amazing views of the lake. In the back den there is another large sectional and 75" smart TV. The basement includes a large seating area and a smart TV, bar/kitchenette with a separate refrigerator, 2 additional guest bedrooms that sleep 6 people each, 1 full guest bathroom, and a washer and dryer. On the lower deck is a patio overlooking the lake, outdoor grill and smoker, and a private, outdoor shower and 7-person hot tub! A paved path to the lake passes a large fire pit and leads to the "Lunar Lounge," where the hanging bed invites you to while the days and the nights away. In front of the Lunar Lounge is a lakefront grassy space, perfect for laying out and playing about. (3) paddleboards are provided for you to explore. The 2-boat slip dock is the perfect place to fish to your heart's content.

Please note the House Rules: no disruptive parties allowed. Quiet time begins at 10 pm and noise monitoring devices are installed to ensure compliance.

Fantastic Fall Break
The perfect house, friendly and responsive hosts, amazing weather! We had a wonderful long weekend. The kids really enjoyed smores in the firepit, doing fun things in the lake, and watching football on the great TVs at the house. I also enjoyed some nice runs around the neighborhood. Fantastic house for a gathering
This house is incredible for visiting and relaxing. We counted - there are comfortable seats for 36 on seven different seating areas! The house is beautiful and well-maintained and extremely cozy. We will be back!

Miksi majoittaja valitsi tämän majoituspaikan

20 years ago the seed of a dream was planted in my heart when my parents sold our river cabin in North Alabama. It was tiny, rustic, and teeming with creepy crawlies, but it faced due west across the mile-wide Tennessee River and had spectacular sunsets. When my parents scraped together every dime they could to purchase the lot in the early 1970s, my mother thoughtfully named the property, "riverrun," after the first words in the epic novel, "Finnegan's Wake," by James Joyce. As an Army brat, "riverrun" was the only consistent home I ever knew, and we would return there every 2-3 years between assignments, for a few weeks at a time. When taking a break from cleaning out spider webs, we would waterski in the early morning, eat BBQ and nap through the long, hot afternoons, and always, at "The Golden Hour," gather on the dock as a family and watch the sun set dramatically across the Tennessee River. My mom, strawberry daquiri in hand, would whisper to me, "Peace is seeing a sunset, and knowing Who to thank." My heart broke when my parents sold that tiny, west-facing cabin, and at 20 years old and an ocean away from Alabama, I vowed to work my whole life to try to recapture even a piece of that Peace I had felt at "riverrun." 20 years: 1 husband, 2 continents, 3 sons, 4 homes, 5 businesses, and 6 cats later, I found "The Crescent," perched on a hilltop and drenched in a gardenia-scented breeze. I followed the gentle slope down towards the water, and felt at once a sacred Spirit in this place. "Wedowee," I would learn, takes its name from a Creek Indian chief and means "old water" in the Muscogean language. I sensed that "riverrun" had somehow rippled back to me, and after a 20 year search, I knew I had found my Peace. We are grateful that you, like us, have serendipitously landed upon "The Crescent." We graciously invite you to discover what is so special about our heavenly haven, and pray that you too, find the Peace that you have been seeking.
