I arrived at the property around 4:30 since the property manager implied the cleaning crew needed extra time, and check in was allowed at 4pm. The location of the property would have been perfect for our stay, but the apartment was not cleaned, and the fridge and a/c were broken. I reached out to the property manager, and I didn’t hear anything. Then, I got a random reply asking to make sure that we “keep the shower curtain on the claw foot tub closed” so as not to damage the floor, I guess. When the cleaning guys arrived (around 4:45) they told me that the property manager just sends out automated messages. The cleaning guys were very kind and helpful. After about an hour of trying to reach him, I found his name on a social media, and tried to get ahold of him as I had two friends flying in that night and we needed a clean, relatively cool (it was 79’ in there) place to stay with a working fridge for all of the groceries that I bought for our weekend getaway. He proceeded to ignore my calls and then insult and abuse me for accessing his social media account. It was embarrassing and sad. So, with a couple hundred dollars worth of groceries and wine, I tried to secure a spot for my friends and I to stay that night. I was in tears and, frankly, without extra funds to find a spot since we should have had one secured. It was an absolutely, needlessly humiliating situation and an enormous inconvenience.
