Relax in the open dining room, enjoy a glass of wine by the wood-burning fireplace, and curl up on our relaxing couch with a book. All your surroundings are designed for your comfort. Enjoy a home-cooked meal in our renovated kitchen and sip your morning coffee and breakfast on the deck listening to the birds chirping and the sound of the wind chime. We are minutes away from beautiful lakes, hiking trails, and mountain biking. And on lazy mornings when all you need is a bit of peace and quiet, you can enjoy the patio, feel the gentle breeze wafting through the trees, and fire up the grill for a magical dinner under the stars on the deck. If you are looking to have a game night we have the games for you, have fun, jokes, and laughter it’s a great way to challenge each other and come together. Moving outside, you’ll find our fire pit waiting for you to tell stories and enjoy your fair share of S’mores. The Hudson Valley has a lot of wildlife in the area, including bugs and ticks. Our priority is for you to have a safe stay. DO NOT feed the deers or interact with the wildlife, please be on the look-out for black bears looking for food. If you are going for a hike in the surrounding areas, please walk with bear spray. All the trash must be put in the trash can and covered. Wildlife is attracted to exposed garbage. Thank you.

Note: There is NO TELEVISION in the house. The Escape Cottage is your opportunity to unplug and relax so while we do have WiFi, we have chosen not to install a television.

We are licensed with the Town of Monroe to operate a short term rental, Permit Number is STR-2023-006.

Guest Access:
Guest access the whole house. Laundry in the basement. If you have any allergies to laundry detergent walk with your own.

Other Things to Note:
Please know you are among wildlife. Please do not leave food outside. Please do not leave trash outside, that will attract the wildlife (bears, deers, rats, raccoons etc.). If you spot any wildlife leave them alone. Always walk with bear spray if you are going hiking.
