Just over a mile from historic downtown Wilmington and within one-half block of a coffeeshop, breakfast spot, and other shops, you’ll find this modern, light-filled home, boasting all the comfort and convenience you need on your next getaway. Spend the day exploring Wilmington Riverwalk, historical homes, gardens and museums downtown, or get acquainted with history at the Battleship North Carolina, around three miles away. If a beach day is in store, Wrightsville Beach is under nine miles away and Carolina Beach is around 15 miles away.

At the home itself, you’ll find an updated, light-filled space. The open, modern kitchen flows into the dining area and living room, making it easy to spend time together. Take advantage of the stainless steel appliances (no dishwasher) to whip up family feasts, then sit down for a meal at the breakfast bar or adjacent dining table. After a day out, toss any stray laundry in the convenient washer/dryer while you bask in the cool of the central AC. Watch a bit of TV or use the free WiFi to post the day’s pics before bed - another idyllic vacation day starts tomorrow.

Quick Family Getaway - 3 night stay
I don't typically give reviews, but wanted to make sure people know what they are renting before they make a decision on where to stay. PROS - It is evident the owners spent a lot of time and effort to update this home. They did a wonderful job moderizing it with nice appliances, new furniture, and bathrooms up to date. The house was clean and had nice touches such as bathroom samples, dishwasher tabs, etc. All the linens were provided and nice & clean. The bed in the master bedroom was amazing - wish my bed at home was that comfortable! CONS - Despite the updates, the house is old, clearly has some structural problems, and apparently the insulation is lacking. The AC struggled to keep up and we were constantly hot. The temperature never got below 75 in the middle of August, it was uncomfortable. We were there for 3 nights so we endured, spend the hottest part of the afternoons out of the house. We would not have not been comfortable for an entire week. Honestly, the listing should say partial AC. We reached out to see if someone could fix it and basically were told it was functioning the best it could. The house is downtown in a somewhat sketchy area. The driveway is small, just big enough for two cars. The third spot had a broken-down car in it, which meant the spot was not available. Overall, the experience was alright. It worked for the short time we were there, but we wouldn't go back due to the uncomfortable temperatures in the middle of August.

Nice updates, bad parking and linens
The house has been updated and has quirky charm. You can fit two small cars in the parking area and the third spot is on the street and had a car that never moved for the whole week in it. The house is nice, but the linens had long black hairs all over them and the towels smelled like cigarettes smoke.

Lovely Place to stay
This was a very lovely place to stay. There are some nice eating places near by. My teenage son and nephew where able to walk about 2 blocks up the street to a pizza place. Most teenagers love pizza so this was perfect. There is a nice YMCA not far if you are member and enjoy working out. I have no complaints I would bring my family back to this home.
