West Bay Beach is the most beautiful beach on Roatan Island and arguably the Caribbean. Stay directly on this gorgeous beach and enjoy all the restaurants and amenities of West Bay in an ideal location and you will be thrilled you found it. Villa Joya is paradise and has everything you want or need! The bedrooms include a king size bed and private bath in one room and twin beds and another full bath in the other...huge kitchen, dining, living room and gorgeous waterfront deck and POOL - you will truly be on vacation. Relax on the hammock or deck and enjoy the sights and sounds of the beach. Everything you need including a personal chef is just a phone call away too.

If you are looking for a vacation spot where shoes are optional and the attitude is friendly and relaxed, this is the place for you. The restaurants are fabulous, affordable and all within a one to five minute walk. The water taxi next door can further expand your choices if you feel the need, but truly everything is within barefoot walking distance from Villa Joya.

Beautiful spacious beach front condo! Very clean, good sized bed rooms and a huge living room/ dining room area. Steps from West End, which was easy to reach by a walk way around the point. Right next to Las Rocas dive center and their restaurant.

BEST Location on West Bay

We had a fantastic stay! The location was perfect—just a short walk to West Bay Beach, with amazing snorkeling at the far end. The deck was a highlight, offering beautiful views of the ocean and pool. We especially loved relaxing in the pool while taking in the stunning views.The home was well-stocked with essentials like plenty of water and toilet paper. While there were a few small quirks (such as no soap or shampoo provided and a couple of older kitchen items), they didn’t affect our overall enjoyment. The master bedroom mattress, though a bit older, was so comfortable—we slept well every night! The master bathroom shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water.We also enjoyed happy hour right next door at Trattoria de Piero—two-for-one cocktails and wonderful company from Winston, who was such a kind and welcoming host. Dining favorites were Argentinian Grill, Pura Vida (get the empanadas!), and Booty Bar in West End.We highly recommend Roatan Breakaway Tours, a family-run business with excellent service. Their son JJ gave us a fun sloth and monkey experience. My husband and brother went diving with Blue Island Divers and said it was fantastic. We also found a great local driver, Oscar (in a white kiosk on West Bay Beach), who was reliable and very reasonably priced.The host did not respond to my messages through VRBO like she had previously and we didn't realize there were instructions by the TV to use What'sApp. Overall, this was a GREAT place!

Great Location, Helpful Staff

This condo is in a great spot within walking distance of main West Bay area, yet far enough away from the busy action to allow you to feel more secluded. Next door, is Las Rocas and their dive shop bar/restaurant with very welcoming staff, and a water taxi access point for going to West End.The property staff were very helpful and responsive for any questions that we had or things that came up during our stay. Connie and John responded quickly, and Tulio kept the outdoor grounds at the condo kept up. Connie lined up Sophia for our airport transfers, and John lined up a driver for us to go to the brewery. Thank you again to Connie, John, Sophia and Tulio!We really enjoyed the spacious back deck with the view of the western sky for lovely water views and beautiful sunsets. We sat out there often. Bring cat and dog treats if staying here!Some past reviews indicated some updating may be needed. Some of those updates have been made (new utensils, appliances, etc.), but I agree there are maybe some more things that could be updated in time. Also, I’d like to mention that while the master bathroom has really good size, the 2nd bathroom is a bit tight so for anyone who may need the extra space for a shower/bathroom area for part of your group, that should be considered. And, a mid-stay indoor cleaning and sheets swap may be something to add for future guest stays. We probably should have just asked for it…Still, a really good spot to consider for West Bay! Thanks again!

Paradise

This was our third trip to Roatan. The first two years we stayed in a resort on the other end of the beach but decided this time we wanted away from the all the crowds but still be on West Bay Beach. We found this unit and it was just that and more. Only six units in the complex and literally a few steps to the water. Restaurant is right next door with plenty of other options a short walk up the beach or water taxi to West End. Connie has stocked the condo will everything you need to cook your own meals. Plenty of linens including beach towels. New washer and dryer so you don't have to pack a lot of clothes. Locals come by each morning with fresh baked banana bread and we even bought lobster from a young man one afternoon. Connie was very responsive to all my messages before and after we arrived. We have already made reservations for next year.

Nice stay

Check in was terrible, it was difficult to get there with no exact address. Host was unreachable ( no response) and had to wait in the heat. Luckily I found Mr. Tulio who works there and the host did answer his call. All to then find out there was a lockbox with the key. And she had told me to wait for someone with the key. After that our stay was nice, it has everything you need and the view and location are great.

Property was as advertised. Clean and safe. The only own side was there was ongoing construction behind us, but it wasn't too bothersome. Sophie, our property manager was awesome and very accommodating.

Disappointing

This property was disappointing. It was clean and did have some new appliances but there were things that need attention in order to make this stay comfortable and pleasant. Firstly, the mattresses were the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on. They were so extremely hard that sleeping was interrupted and we woke up stiff and sore. Water leaks out of the showers onto the floor. Many of the towels in the unit were old and worn out. The patio door handle is broken and hard to open and close. The one window in the living room needs replacing as it is all fogged up and you can't see out of it. There were only 2 sun loungers available and they were both ripped and basically not usable therefore we had nothing to sit on while trying to go to the small beach in front of the condo. This to me was a real head scratcher as this is quite inexpensive yet an absolute necessity for a tropical vacation property. We had to try to put our towels down on the beach and were bitten by ants and sand fleas . The beach out front is very small and has a lot of sea grass in it so not ideal. The adjacent beach, west bay beach, was so overrun by cruise ship people, a person did not even want to be over there and would have had to pay 15.00 dollars per chair to sit with thousands of other people like sardines. Overall, the property and the whole island of Roatan was a severe disappointment. One day there were 12,000 cruise ship people in port and this is not unusual. Never again

Perfect Family Christmas

Enjoyed our stay. Clean and appliances / furniture were like new. AC and fans worked great. We dived with Los Roccas next door. Nice having a bar and restaurant just next door. Nice beach and pool right in front. It is a short walk to the big beach at West Bay via the wooden boardwalk on shore. Any power or water issues were handled promptly, there is an onsite generator. Remember, power is not always 100% in a tropical paradise. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for being a great host.

Adult friends vacation

Connie and John were outstanding. The condo is very spacious. Kitchen, dining, and living area very open and plenty of room. The bedrooms and baths had plenty of room and storage space. Lots of clean towels and paper goods. New refrigerator, washer and dryer. Connie responded quickly and professionally to any questions. Had a bag of ice for us on check in. But the most important and impressive thing, I got very ill and had to stay an extra day. Connie let me and my fiancé stay an extra night, AT NO CHARGE!! Very kind!!

Location was very good and quiet within short walking distance to west bay. Place could use some work. A few knives were broken, door handle to bedroom hanging, patios door handle hanging and kitchen cabinet hanging. Washer/dryer was essential😊lots of towels/blankets available. Deck and patio furniture were covered with dust from nonstop construction in the back of the villa. Villa was probably amazing when it was new .

Great condo at north end of West Bay Beach

We really enjoyed this place! The condo is very nice, spacious, well furnished/decorated, well-appointed full kitchen, and the AC is cold. Connie was very responsive to all our requests. Perfect location, private, and right on the beach. As an added bonus, it’s right beside Las Rocas which has a bar, restaurant and excellent dive shop. Shout out to dive masters Geraldine and Abner! My wife loved the washer and dryer! Just a few suggestions that would make the condo even better: 1. Put real ice trays in freezer. The plastic ice maker box there now is worthless! (Note: This was a total non-issue during our stay because Connie provided a 10-lb bag of ice upon arrival and another upon request when we used up first bag.) 2. The shower door in small bathroom leaks water all over bathroom floor. Should be replaced. 3. Master bedroom shower drains very very slowly, such that water builds at your feet like a bath and leaves soap residue all over shower floor after it finally drains. Also, master shower needs a shower door or curtain as water splashes all over bathroom floor when showering. As a result of this issue, after my first shower in master bath, I took rest of my showers under outdoor shower (a big bonus that condo has this!). Neighbors probably thought I was crazy getting soaped up outdoors, but I didn’t care! 4. Put washcloths in condo. We asked for some and they were provided immediately! Condo has plenty of other towels. 5. Replace the 2 worn out outdoor lounge chairs.

Great Week

Fantastic location. Place was great. Great having basically a semi private beach with Weat Bay a stones throw away. Los Roccas next door was a great dive shop and the bar as well was an added bonus. John was quick to communicate. Stock up on your grocery trip on the essentials if you don’t plan to make too many moves. Figure out what days are cruise ship or not as the West Bay beach will be much emptier. Great for swimming.

As always we love staying in the this complex. This was our first time staying at Connie's unit. She was good about responding and the unit was comfortable and clean.

Great location

This was our first time staying at the Las Rocas end of West Bay and we loved it. The sandy beach right in front of the condo is peaceful, but the bigger West Bay beach/restaurants/etc are just a few steps away. John (who is the on-site manager) responded immediately to the few requests we made (extra bottled water, taxi pick-up), and the check-in/out process was a breeze. We've already re-booked for next year.

Overall Great Place

Clean and ready to go on arrival, the transportation option to and from the airport and grocery store was an excellent addition that is offered. Location is top notch just minutes away from the action but secluded enough to really wind down. All in all I would say it was excellent with one major caveat- The pool was still broke for the duration of our stay when we were reassured beforehand that it would be operational. We were extremely disappointed about this as it was one of the major things we were looking for in our rental property.
