Summary:
Relax in one of the quietest micro-neighborhoods in New Orleans. This home is on a quiet corner, only one block away from lively Magazine St- boasting its multitude of restaurants, entertainment, shopping, and easy access to public transportation.
The Space:
You will enter directly into a minimalistic living space and open kitchen area with all of the amenities you will need for a stay in New Orleans. Climb the spiral staircase to reach a loft style bedroom space with connected bathroom and laundry area.
Guest Access:
The entire cottage is for private guest use. You will have access to the balcony connected to the cottage but not the patio area on the ground level which is used by the owner.
The Neighborhood:
Uptown/Carrollton is a laid-back residential area known for its oak trees and landmark restaurants like the late-night Camellia Grill and the iconic Jacque-Imo’s as well as Commander's Palace, Le Petite Grocery and Shaya (James Beard award winning restaurant). Venerable live music venues include the Maple Leaf Bar and Tipitina's, for brass bands, bayou tunes and dancing.
Only a block from the popular Magazine Street, you'll have direct access to the street's innumerable shops, restaurants, and bars.
Getting Around:
Only a block off Magazine Streets, you'll have direct access to the bus line that can take you into the French Quarter and downtown in minutes.
You're also only a short walk (5 minutes) from the historic St. Charles Ave where you'll have access to the city's infamous Streetcar. For $1.25, Take the streetcar into the French Quarter, down to the Audubon Zoo and park, Tulane University campus or to simply enjoy traveling along St. Charles. There is also a convenient bus route one block over on Magazine St that can take you to the upper Garden District, CBD and/or French Quarter, same price as the street car.
Other Things to Note:
Please, be aware that there is a spiral stair case to reach the second floor.
