This lake paradise is all you would want for a vacation home!

Special Notes:

This property was acquired in 2023 -- we use it as our winter residence and rent it out in the summer. It is a *beautiful* lake home, not a fishing camp! We've already done many upgrades, but long-term we'd like to do more. We're continuing a reduced rate for this summer to give people a chance to use it and to get some feedback. We'd love to hear both what you liked and what you thought could be better, so we have input on what could be adjusted/improved.

Our normal rates are a little higher for Fridays, Saturdays and holidays. There is also a $130 cleaning fee. These charges include applicable State and Parish taxes.

If you bring your boat, there is a boat launch by the Hwy 1200 bridge that is free to use. Please note that Lake Cotile is a reservoir and stumps can be a problem outside of the boat rows (channels). There is a cleared area by the Campground and Recreation Area at the north end of the lake where it is safe to waterski.

Although the Futon indicated for sleeping in the living room is a double bed, we list it as sleeping only one (most couples prefer a queen of king size bed).

Camp Life at Its Finest
This location is a spacious home with a scenic view of Cotile Lake. We were four adults; we used two of the bedrooms (primary upstairs; guest down spiral staicase). In the mornings, we gathered for coffee either on the outside patio or at the bistro table in the breakfast nook. We were just a short walk down to the boat dock. We brought our own tackle box and fishing poles, but they had lots of gear for our use (including tool to strip catfish). We caught mainly Brehm off the dock and a few white perch. The chairs on the deck were super comfortable, as well as the swing bench. We ate our picnic lunches there. We kayaked and even swam in the lake (yes, there were snakes, but remember: they are more afraid of you!). We grilled at night on the gas grill on the deck and cooked omelets in the kitchen. The home had all of the amenities we needed. It even had a Whirlpool bath!!! The days were warm and delightful. Each day was an experience. We loved every minute. It really is a special place to relax and enjoy the wonderful moments of life with the family and friends you love. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Vacation @ Lake Cotile
My husband and I, along with our two teenage daughters and other adult children stayed at this home for 4 nights and 5 days. We did not want to leave! The property is beautiful, peaceful and sooo relaxing. We went to LA so that our 17 yr. old could tour the LSU campus and also attend a concert in Alexandria that weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay. The home is roomy and had everything we needed and then some. Bob, the host of the house was always available to answer all questions immediately or very soon after a text was sent by me. The property manager was helpful and came by to set out the kayaks for the kids to use and also answered any questions we had. ( mostly, how likely is it that we will be swimming with the gators?!) We did not see any btw! :) Our only suggestion is that perhaps some fans and or misters could be placed down on the dock, as it did get very hot when just sitting and fishing off the dock. For those of us not wanting to swim in the water, it would have been a nice attribute to have. We will definitely be back to stay in this home and will recommend to anyone looking for a lake house in LA. Thank you so much Bob and Chris for sharing your home with us! 5 Stars from us!

We bought this house so we could escape winters up north. We're letting you stay in what is our "home" for half of the year -- please be respectful of it. This is a large property with multiple gardens, patios, decks and walkways. We've made many upgrades already to bring it to a safe and useable condition, but other enhancements will be needed to make it 100%. We've reduced the rental price 20% for this summer to give people a chance to try it out. Please consider this when rating the property, but we definitely want your feedback on what worked and didn't work for you.

Looking for a beautiful lake-front retreat? This great home on 1 ¼ Acres has all you could want for relaxation and peaceful evenings. It has a walk-out lower level which is unusual in Louisiana. The dock/boathouse is spacious, and the 274 feet of water frontage on Cotile Lake give you space from your neighbors. A whole-house generator provides peace-of-mind in bad weather.
