Opened April 1, 2023, The Lucky Duck is one of our newest additions! Lucky Duck has 3 queen bedrooms plus 3 full bathrooms and an additional half bath. The living space has a flowing, open floor plan with a combined kitchen/dining area that moves into the upswept picture-windowed living and lounge areas. Relax and enjoy some of your favorite classic movies on one of our 43" or 55" HD satellite-connected TV sets, or pop that special flick into the DVD player. Play a rousing game of cards or challenging board game with your friends, or put together some craft projects with family around the sunlit smaller table in front of the extra-large windows that overlook the backyard. Relax in the outdoor hot tub all year-round, enjoy drinks with friends around the fire table on the back deck, or share your favorite meal around the patio dining set.

Note: Dock, Watercraft, Grill & Outdoor Dining Furniture Are Not Available Oct 25-Apr 15. Our hot tub is always available, even in the winter.

Guests will have full access to our entire home, including decks, yard, driveway/parking area, and private dock with canoe.

Use of our canoe is free with the home. We also offer reasonably-priced kayak rental, by the day ($25/day) or week; reservation & pre-payment are required; a $100 minimum rental applies.

Local boat rental options may be available--just ask for details. The public boat launch is just down the street from our home.

The Neighborhood:
The Lucky Duck is among a handful of cottages located in the Scott Lakes area of Lee Township in rural Allegan County, Michigan. This peaceful small town is the perfect place for folks who are looking to get away from the busyness of everyday life and reconnect with family, friends, or even co-workers.

Summer brings the fun of boating, swimming, picnicking, or just relaxing by the water. The autumn colors are spectacular around the lake or in the orchards and vineyards found all over our area. Enjoy some local winter sports like skiing, sledding, cross-country skiing, and ice skating. Spring explodes with fresh colors from the flowers and leaves bursting into new life, invigorating your soul and mind after the long, barren winter.

Our homes are 10-15 minutes away from Crane's Orchards and Dutch Farms, famous for delicious pies and fruit picking. On the way to the orchards is the Fennville Winery, offering tours, and wine tastings. If you like antiquing, it does not get better than this. There are many antique stores within 20 minutes: in South Haven, Allegan, Douglas, and Saugatuck, or just a pleasant drive along Blue Star Highway. In the summer dune rides are a blast and the South Haven beaches are gorgeous. Pick cherries, blueberries, raspberries, or apples in nearby orchards. Art galleries in the area offer a varied selection of styles to refresh your home or office. Take your own kayaks to any of the different lakes and rivers in the area, but don't forget your paddles and life jackets!

Upper Scott Lake is only 15 minutes from downtown South Haven or Saugatuck and 25 minutes from Holland.

Getting Around:
You will definitely need a car to see all that southwest Michigan has to offer.

Note: We Do Not Offer Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging & Attempting To Do So Will Overload/Damage Our Electrical System. Violators Will Automatically Be Charged A $400.00 Fine Plus Applicable Damages.

Cellular pocket Wi-Fi is provided by AT&T, the best area internet service provider. They only offer limited speeds so more than a few connected devices at a time will cause lag. We provide satellite TV since video streaming (e.g., Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.) is not an option.

House Rules: Loud Parties With Excessive Alcohol/Drug Use Are Not Allowed. All Drinking Games Are Strictly Prohibited. We Ask That Nothing Be Stuck to Our Walls Since This Will Damage The Paint. Use of Tinsel, Glitter, Confetti, Feathers, Etc. Not Welcomed Since They Leave A Mess That Is Hard & Time-Consuming for Our Very Small Staff to Clean Up. Note: If You Have A Wild Party, We Will Contact The Police & Have You Removed From Our Property.

Township-Mandated Quiet Hours Are 10 PM-8 AM Daily.

No EV Charging, Fireworks, Smoking, Vaping, Marijuana Use, or Pets/Animals. No Exceptions.
