Renovated, Clean 1 bedroom in Forest Hills - A
Enjoy easy access to everything from this centrally located home base. This space is 1/2 of a side by side duplex that was recently renovated. Both sides of the duplex are rented on Airbnb and you will have your own private kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom.
Very close to Forest Hills park/playground, the Original Q Shack BBQ, Guglhupf Bakery, Refectory Cafe, etc.
Driving times:
Downtown Durham - 4 min
Duke Hospital/Campus - 8 min
RDU Airport - 16 min
Chapel Hill - 20 min
While we are not likely to be onsite to welcome you or during your stay, we are easily accessible and timely in responding via the booking platform website/apps between 6am to 9pm EST. We can also be reached via text message or phone call in the event of an emergency. Our phone number will be provided prior to check in.
This home is located in the Forest Hills neighborhood but on University Drive, which is a busier street. The location is central to many area attractions and within close driving distance to some wonderful food options.
Head across the street for a leisurely walk through quiet Trinity Park and to a local playground.
As you drive onto the property, there is a spot in front of the home for two cars. One spot is designated for unit A and one for unit B. Please park respectfully to ensure both units have adequate space.
You will enter through the front shared door (provides access to unit A and B). The exterior door utilizes a keypad for access. This code will be sent to you the day of arrival. There are two steps into the front foyer. Once inside, everything is on a single level. You will then use the door to the left (unit A) to access your private unit.
The interior door uses the August Home smart lock and can be accessed by sending us your cellphone information prior to check in. Once you provide your cellphone and we add your number, you will receive a text message with additional instructions on how to download the app. Upon arrival to the front door, simply open the August Home app and press the circle to unlock the front door (the phone will sense the door lock via Bluetooth). We will also send you a unique pin pad code either as a backup or for primary use if you prefer not to download the door lock app.
In the event that technology fails, we have a backup lockbox hidden on site for emergency access.
**If you are arriving with two cars, the second car will either need to be parked down the stone driveway behind the house or on nearby side street Starlight Drive (approximately a 50 ft walk just past the entrance to the property)
This space is the left side of a duplex separated by a center wall and accessed via a shared entrance. Once inside the unit, the entire space is yours and no interior spaces are shared.
Once inside, the property opens to a living room with a couch, coffee table and smart tv where you can access your streaming services.
Down the hallway, you will find the laundry area equipped with a washing machine and dryer and a bathroom with a full sized tub/shower combo.
The bedroom has a closet space and comfortable queen bed and privacy blackout curtains for a comfortable night's sleep.
The kitchen contains a high top seating area for two, new stainless steel appliances and basic pots, pans, cutlery, etc.
This location is central to many attractions.
You can check the Durham transportation website for the local bus route and other transportation options.
Most guests opt to bring a car. Free parking for one car is available onsite in front of the home. Parking for an additional car is at the bottom of the stone driveway. There may be additional street parking available within close proximity on Starlight Drive but is not guaranteed.

17 minute drive to RDU airport
Please note, this unit does have some road noise from cars passing by University Drive in front of the home. We have provided a white-noise machine to make sleeping more enjoyable.
Please enter and exit the driveway with caution and signal early (especially when arriving for the first time). I would not recommend backing out onto University Drive. Please K turn in the driveway and pull onto University with the nose of your car facing out.
To ensure transparency and clear expectations up front, please note the following for all of our properties:
- We are pet friendly BUT all of our guests do not have pets or appreciate pet hair. Therefore, we charge an extra $51.50 pet cleaning fee that is passed on entirely to our cleaning crew. This ensures that they spend the extra time removing any pet hair from linens and towels, spend extra time cleaning baseboard trim, wiping fan blades, cleaning HVAC filters, etc. If you do not select "Add Pet" when booking and you stay with a pet, the $51.50 cleaning fee will be requested from you at checkout. Please select Add Pet in your initial booking to avoid this interaction.
- We absolutely prohibit any and all smoking and drug use at our properties. This behavior makes it extremely difficult to turnover the unit for a new guest likely arriving the same day of your departure. If we find that you have smoked in our property, there will be an extra $200 cleaning fee, you will receive a negative review, and you will not be able to book at our properties in the future. This is a non-negotiable. Do not book if you plan to smoke.
- No parties allowed or loud music after 8pm. Many of our properties are connected duplexes and out of courtesy for neighbors, we ask that there be no gatherings or loud music or unauthorized guests not listed on the reservation. If family or friends are stopping by, please kindly let us know ahead of time .
