Calgary has a very good public transportation system that makes it easy to get to most destinations via the bus, light rail transit or a combination of both with a stop just a short walk from the apartment.
The light rail transit system is called the CTrain which runs from 4:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. every day of the week while the bus network is made up of over 100 routes, allowing people to get to places that are not covered by the CTrain. Most buses run at 15- to 30-minute intervals daily.
From the apartment on Elbow Drive SW, Route 3 ‘Sandstone/Elbow Dr.’ travelling northbound heads directly to downtown.
The nearest Calgary Transit Park and Ride lot, just a 5-minute drive away, is located at the Chinook CTrain station on the southeast corner of 1A Street SW at 61 Avenue SW. The Red Line ‘Tuscany/Somerset-Bridlewood’ travelling northbound heads directly to Stampede Park and downtown before crossing the scenic Bow River with stops at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, McMahon Stadium, and the University of Calgary.
