Homestake Hideaway - Cozy 3 Bedroom in the Hills

Surrounded by the scenic Black Hills, Homestake Hideaway is centrally located to many destinations - including Terry Peak Ski Resort, the Mickelson trail, Spearfish Canyon, and the grocery store is right across the street for convenience during your stay.
The space
Tucked in charming & historic Lead lies this miner's home with sleeping accommodations for six. Wake up to fresh brewed coffee or take a morning jaunt to Lotus Up for a tasty breakfast overlooking the mine. Surrounded by the scenic Black Hills, Homestake Hideaway is central to many destinations - spend your day hiking, bike the Mickelson trail, visit the iconic Homestake Mine or drive the breathtaking Spearfish Canyon Drive with gorgeous waterfalls and towering cliffs just mere minutes away from the doorsteps of the Hideaway. Take a drive to Custer State Park to say hello to the Bison herd or to Mt. Rushmore or Crazy Horse to marvel at these works of art. If motor sports are more your style, side by sides and snowmobile rentals are available during the winter months. Terry Peak Ski Resort is also minutes away for those who love winter sports.

If you desire a vibrant nightlife, Deadwood is only a stone's throw away and boasts casinos, saloons, and lounges for an authentic Wild West experience. If a cozy night in is more your style, unwind with a board game or relax by the fireplace with a movie night.
Guest access
Guests have full access to the entire house, excluding the basement.
Other things to note
No Smoking - cigarettes, cigars, vape pens, marijuana, etc., in the home. Do not leave cigarette butts outside. Please bag and dispose of in outside trash.
No Parties - no unregistered guests overnight or for a visit without written approval.
No Pets

There is high speed wireless internet and two Roku TVs.

Blink cameras have been placed on the exterior of the house to track weather conditions and parking. These are not directed toward living spaces to protect guest privacy.

Quiet hours 10pm-8am - please be respectful of our neighbors and our community.
Immediate parking next to the house in front of the shed, additional parking available near the entrance from the road.

**What to expect in the summer**
As a reminder, the house is not equipped with air conditioning. If you need to cool the house down we recommend opening the bedroom windows at night and running the fans provided to cool the house.

**What to expect during the winter**
While winter is generally mild we do experience inclement weather and large amounts of snow can fall in a short period of time. As such we DO recommend having a 4-wheel drive vehicle during the winter months. The house is not located on a typical city street. Our driveway will typically be plowed WITHIN 24 hours of receiving 6 inches of snow, but WILL NOT be plowed after every snowfall. For this reason we strongly encourage guests to drive AWD/4-Wheel drive vehicles.
We also DO NOT offer snow shoveling service during your stay but provide snow shovels available for your use.
