Spent over an hour trying to get a hold of the host trying to get into the property in winter. We messaged through the app and called. Left two voicemails and then the host sent our calls to voicemail twice. I then texted the number and she responded and finally called. Unapologetic on the phone. We had spent 40 minutes with VRBO chat trying to see what we can do. In the mean time we went out for dinner, but it definitely made the trip unnecessarily stressful. We wanted to change clothes before dinner (went to a very nice restaurant for a special occasion) and had to go in sweats. They state that they keep the house cold. It was set at 60, so it would have been nice to have been able to heat up the house. It would be nice if they said the location of the thermostat (upstairs, master bedroom). No hand towels or wash cloths. Place itself was fine. Would recommend improving instructions to get in if you are not going to be responsive. There are three entrances and they state there is a code to get in. There is a lockbox with a key, but that is not what they want you to use. There was another key pad that didn’t light up attached to another door. Took multiple tries to get in that one as it wouldn’t light up and would flash random numbers. So clear instructions would be helpful. If they want to keep the thermostat that low (60 in winter) when there aren’t guests, maybe get one you can operate remotely so it’s not freezing. Neighborhood was derelict looking. Would not recommend.
