Be one of the first to stay at this brand new designer home in the heart of Port Isabel! Ideal for solo travelers or couples, this modern custom home has everything: shared heated pool, open-concept kitchen and living, queen-sized bed with workspace, and a couch in the living room. Located across the bay from South Padre Island (SPI), you can experience the best of both worlds: the tranquility of the bay and the excitement of the beach. This is a non-smoking and pet-free property.
LISTING SPACE:
Experience the best of Port Isabel and South Padre Island at this interior designer's newest home. Perfect for leisure and work, ideal for surfers, families, and anyone looking for an ideal balance between beach getaway and proximity to all your essentials on the mainland.
YOUR SPACE: 1 queen bedroom and 1 full bathroom. The bedroom has ample closet space and a quiet workspace with integrated charging. Enjoy luxurious modern fixtures in the bathroom and the spacious walk-in shower. The living and dining space is combined in an open-concept layout; the kitchen has quartz countertops, light ash cabinets, travertine backsplash, and undermount sink with pull-down faucet/sprayer, under-cabinet lighting, all stainless appliances (gas oven and stove, garbage disposal, no dishwasher). The high-top dining space also functions as extra counter prep space. Kick back and relax in the tastefully decorated living room with an extra-large 60" smart TV.
**Please note, the sofa is NOT a pull-out sofa, but is comfortable to sleep on for 1 person. We also provide a twin-size memory foam folding mattress as well.
THE PROPERTY: Please note that Orion C is one of three units in a private home. Your space is entirely your own, however you may be next door to other guests at Orion A (3 bed 2 bath) and Orion B (2 bed 2 bath). Please contact us directly if you are interested in renting the entire house for large groups.
INDOOR AMENITIES: we provide all bed linens, shower towels and pool towels, dishware, cookware, bath gels, and coffee + tea. Coffeemaker is a stainless Cuisinart drip coffee maker. We provide two different high-speed wifi networks with Spectrum. There are remote controlled ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room and the AC is connected to a Nest system. Please note that the thermostat for this space is next door - please message us and we can remotely set this to any temperature.
OUTDOOR AMENITIES: Going fishing? Cook up your catch at our outdoor charcoal grill or enjoy drinks at our outdoor dining area. Charcoal is not included, but all grilling tools are. Let your cares float away in our brand new swimming pool or work on your tan at our poolside lounge space. Had a beach day? Rinse off at the two outdoor showers located on the right side of the house. Please note that all outdoor amenities are shared amongst guests of Orion A, B, and C (it is a SHARED pool for 5 units.)
***SHARED POOL NOTE: heated pool is shared amongst 5 units. All other outdoor amenities are shared with Casa Cactus A, B, and C guests.
This is a non-smoking and pet-free property.
*Temperature: the house is under a central AC Google Nest system, and the thermostat is located in the main house next door. We keep the home at a standard 72 degrees, plus have provided ceiling fans and plug-in fans as well. If you would like a different temperature, please simply message us (typical response time is 5-15 minutes) and we are able to remotely adjust the temperature.
LISTING ACCESS:
PARKING: There is parking for one vehicle on the gravel driveway in front of the house to the right of the walkway, and free parking on the street for additional vehicles.
KEYS & SECURITY: We utilize smart locks for all of our properties. No need to worry about keys, as you will receive a unique access code for your stay, to be released on the day of your check-in. Simply punch in the code on the door and you will be able to enter and leave as you please. We also have security cameras monitoring the parking lot and front doors of all units.
ENTRANCE: The entrance to your property is on the side of the house. Walk along the walkway to the right side of the house to the second door marked "C".

LOCATION: This home is in a quiet residential neighborhood in Port Isabel, Texas. We are next door to a local park with a walking track, playground, and basketball court. Grocery stores are 1 mile away and we are a 2 minute drive from the bay-front restaurants in Port Isabel and the entrance to the bridge that connects Port Isabel to South Padre Island. We are also just a couple blocks from the historic lighthouse downtown. The benefit of staying in Port Isabel is the tranquility of the bay and also access to the shops in the mainland without needing to deal with the noise or traffic on the Island, however you are just a 7 minute drive from all the excitement and fireworks. There is a free shuttle bus that will take you from Port Isabel to the beach.
Port Isabel is a charming city in the southern tip of Texas, with a rich history and a scenic location on the Laguna Madre Bay. It is a popular destination for fishing, boating, birdwatching, and enjoying the coastal views and SPACEX launches. It is the ideal small fishing town getaway for visitors seeking natural beauty and tranquility.
THINGS TO DO: Everything. Surfing, fishing, go-karts, zip-lines, mini-golf, horseback riding, waterpark, boogie boarding, tacos and margaritas, beachside and bayside restaurants and cafes, sunset cruises, and of course miles and miles of soft sand. Oh, and you can watch rockets launch into space! Check out my guide to South Padre Island for more ideas and attractions.
SPACEX: As you may have heard, the SpaceX rocket launches occur nearby at Boca Chica! We recommend checking the SpaceX website for updated dates and times of their launches. During these launches you can hear the rocket from the house - in fact, some of the absolute best viewing sites for the launches are right here in Port Isabel, just a few blocks away!
LISTING TRANSIT:
A local park is just 500 feet away from the house. A Free shuttle bus stops at this park and takes guests between Port Isabel and South Padre Island.
