My partner and I attended a convention at Kalahari which was only a few minutes away, so the location was perfect. There were a few minor issues (very squeaky ceiling fan in one BR, pest control could have been a little better, etc), but it was clean, seemed safe and we would have definitely stayed there again.MY BIG COMPLAINT: We were charged a fee (89, I believe) for insurance in case we damaged the property. We didn't want insurance because we knew there would be no property damage, but it was required, so we paid it. Since we left early for our convention and got home late every night, we only needing the property for sleeping. No eating or drinking, no pets, no kids ... nothing whatsoever except coming in late, sleeping, and leaving the next morning.I was shocked a few days later to find an email from the insurance company saying that they had paid a claim on our behalf for 460.13 for 'carpet damage'! There absolutely was no carpet damage. I immediately texted Chinedu, who I believe was the host, and asked for an explanation. She said she "would check on the matter and get back to me with more information" but that was the last I heard from her. I was really expecting to hear from her because that was a serious mistake at best. At worst, filing an insurance claim to get paid for damage that never occurred is insurance fraud. Although no money came out of our pocket, fraudulent claims make everyone's insurance go up. I'm still waiting for an explanation.
