Welcome to The Cardinal Cottage near Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. This relaxing retreat gives a vintage vibe with its 1960s ambiance. It comfortably accommodates up to six guests and pets are not allowed.

As you approach, you'll be greeted by a delightful covered front porch, providing a picturesque view of the majestic mountains. Step inside to discover a warm and inviting atmosphere, where rustic charm meets modern convenience.

The cottage boasts a spacious rear deck, ideal for soaking in the beauty of nature. Here, you'll find a grill for outdoor cooking, a rejuvenating hot tub for relaxation, and a refreshing outdoor shower (available seasonally). Whether you're enjoying a barbecue with loved ones or stargazing under the night sky, this deck is sure to be a favorite spot.

Venture into the backyard, where a fire pit awaits your gatherings. With ample space for outdoor games and activities, there's no shortage of fun to be had in this outdoor space.

Inside, the layout is thoughtfully designed for both comfort and functionality. Enter through one of the three exterior doors, leading you to the laundry space (from the deck), kitchen (from the deck), or second living room/office (from the front porch), providing easy access to all your needs.

The main living room welcomes you with a cozy vintage ambiance, complete with a small hallway leading to the full bath straight ahead. Bedroom 2 is located on your left, offering a cozy retreat, while bedroom 1 is on your right, featuring an attached half bath/laundry area for added convenience. The second living room/office has space for two guests to sleep privately on the sleeper sofa.

Cute cottage had everything our family of 4 needed for a visit to Garrett County. We really appreciated the A/C, Wi-Fi, and washer/dryer on the inside and took advantage of the fire pit and hot tub outside.

This comfy & very clean cottage was the perfect respite for our 3 night stay near Deep Creek lake! The owners were excellent communicators and the listing clearly reflects the cottage offerings. We enjoyed both porches, the grill, used the kitchen, the hot tub and were very comfortable sleeping in the 2 queen size beds in air conditioned rooms. Traveling as two couples - this home location was just right for our outings to Swallow Falls, Deep Creek Lake State Park, out to Dutch’s for dinner & convenient to our pontoon rental. Thanks for sharing your vintage cottage… With little cardinal touches everywhere!

Property was very nice. The weekend was rainy which cause the yard to turn into a bit of a swamp. The inside was beautiful and fit 5 of us very well. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cookware. Hot tub was clean and the outdoor shower made washing hot tub chemicals and camp fire smoke out of hair very convenient.

We loved this cabin! Convenient and beautiful location. Everything was updated and VERY clean. Comfortable beds, plenty of pillows. Great decor. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch. Kitchen was very well-appointed; couch and chairs were comfortable; yard and hot tub were very well-maintained. Owners were easy to communicate with and responded quickly when we had an issue with the Internet-- even called to help us fix it! Easy check in and check out.Only complaint is that the hot tub was set to 60F when we arrived and we were not able to use it that night as it takes 6 - 8 hours to fully heat up.The only other note I would make is that the cabin is set very close to Glendale Road and the road noise is very loud if you're sitting on the porch or if you have the windows open. So (depending on the season), if your goal is peace and quiet, this may not be the best spot for you. It didn't really bother us, but it is worth mentioning.

I stayed in the cottage with friends for a long weekend. Everything was clean and exactly as listed. We really appreciate the board games and the labels on the light switches.

Finally a nice place

We like to travel and stay in little cottages just out of towns while we’re visiting friends in the music business we found this cottage to be exactly as advertised and when in the area we will be calling them again if you’re looking for a clean, very casual little bit out-of-the-way setting This place is perfect. I’ll give it five stars.

I knew this stay was going to be amazing since cardinals hold a very significant piece of my heart. The house was cute and cozy. It was exactly as described, but the backyard is amazing. It is so peaceful and we spent a lot of time there. The front porch was the perfect spot to watch the storms as well. Thank you for sharing your home.

Perfect!!

My future fiancé and I booked this place to celebrate our first year together. It looks exactly like the pictures. The hosts are wonderful and beautiful people. Great communication, very responsive hosts, very clean property, small but spacious, washer and dryer was a plus, shopping, food, and activities are within a 20 min drive, beautiful scenery and intimate setting made us LOVE this place. The hosts were thoughtful in stocking the kitchen with dishes and cleaning supplies. All we needed to bring was food and clothes. The hot tub was cleaned and heated the morning before our arrival and I could tell the grass had been treated for mosquitoes( not one bite). My future fiancé had the time of his life, and I am so thankful to have rented from Carol and Ian. 10/10 recommend!!!

Pleasant trip to Deep Creek

Property was as depicted. Nice amenities, particularly impressed they drain the water to the hot tub after each stay (perhaps overkill but pretty cool nonetheless). We enjoyed the fire pit and watching roku tv in the living room. Internet wasn't that fast but it was ok enough for streaming tv. Thanks to the hosts for a nice stay hope we can come back sometime!
