LISTING SUMMARY:
Ascent House, a unique retreat meticulously crafted for resting and recharging after exploring in our beautiful Adirondack Wilderness. Flooded with natural light, every room offers calming frames of nature. Clean, organized, sharp lines complement a design stripped to its essential. Watch the sun peak through the forest and rise over the mountains through expansive windows. Ascend the levels of the house, each revealing more of landscape. We hope you love it here.
SPACE SUMMARY:
Unfolding over three levels and 750 sq. ft, our "not so" tiny house uses high ceilings, grand windows, and sharp lines to create a feeling of expansiveness and unique zones. As the sun rises, it's reflected off the white back walls, filling the house with natural light and warmth. In combination with our expansive windows the house was designed to blur the lines between nature and the interior. As the seasons change, you'll see the beauty of the mountains through the bare trees in winter, the bright red, yellow and orange foliage in fall, and the lush green forest in summer.
Perfect for singles, couples, and small groups/families, Ascent House comfortably accommodates 1-4 guests; it can easily host up to 5, and we even allow up to 6 for larger families or groups who don't mind cozy quarters and still want to experience this special home. Although compact, every facet has been mindfully designed to ensure maximum comfort.
We are happy to extend a warm welcome to pets as well, because we know they need to enjoy the mountains too. If you are planning to bring your pet, please add them to your reservation as we charge a $75 pet fee per stay (up to 2 potty trained, well-behaved pets).
BEDROOMS & EXTRA SLEEPING AREAS: The house has two queen-sized bedrooms: one on the first floor and another on the third floor. The third floor is accessible by climbing a steep set of loft stairs (not as steep as a ladder, but steeper than a regular set of stairs)
Extra sleeping accommodations: Each bedroom has a twin-sized trundle bed tucked underneath the main bed, providing extra sleeping areas when needed. The second-floor living area also features a daybed style couch with a twin mattress, offering another comfortable sleeping option if needed. In total, Ascent House features five beds: two queens, two twin-sized trundles, and one twin-sized daybed.
BATHROOM: Our bathroom sits on the 2nd floor and features heated floors, a rain shower, and a separate toilet room within the bathroom, ensuring ease of use for multiple guests at once.
LIVING ROOM / KITCHEN & DINING AREA: The 2nd floor integrates a compact living and dining area, complete with a daybed-style couch. A loft net suspended in the ceiling over the couch presents an additional lounging spot.
For entertainment, the living area features a projector with an 80-inch screen for streaming via our Chromecast device.
Our full kitchen is equipped with all the essentials.
EXTERIOR SPACE: The 1st floor bedroom has direct outdoor access to a deck, and a 2nd floor balcony is accessed right from the dining/living area; both face out towards the mountains and forest. An outdoor fire pit and grill are available for your use.
WORKSPACE: An efficient, custom-designed workspace in the first-floor bedroom comes complete with a computer monitor, allowing for comfortable remote working with a large second screen. Starlink satellite internet provides high speed Wi-Fi.
STORAGE: Ascent House is equipped with ample interior and exterior shelving and hooks, ensuring your gear and personal items remain organized throughout your stay.
GROUNDS & SURROUNDINGS: Positioned up high, Ascent House offers views of the sunrise over a forested mountainscape. Nestled within a several-acre plot, the house provides seclusion without isolation and is situated about 300 feet from the road. Our neighbors, owners of two small camps, are occasional visitors and while their dwellings are within sight, they're distanced enough not to intrude on your peaceful retreat.
Facing outwards from the house, the property extends out into our private forest through which a marked trail leads you down the bank to our private brook. This land offers a unique retreat and we are so happy to share this special place with you.
