Mountain Retreat

So quiet!! Great place to unplug and unwind. House is very comfortable and well maintained. Loved the setting. Located at the end of a road bordering FDR State Park. Callaway Gardens is nearby which offers seasonal events. Decent array of places to eat in several neighboring towns.

Perfect quiet retreat...

This was a great place to "woo-sah" and relax. Totally engulfed in the trees, we were able to unwind and destress from daily life. Within driving distance of great restaurants and fun outings. I've already recommended this property to my family!

Great Getaway!

The cabin was very cute and private. It was easy to find and close to the local attractions. Kim (the host) was very informative and responsive. She provided detailed lists of popular attractions and restaurants. She was also very responsive. The cabin was clean, accommodating, and comfortable.

Secluded serenity

The property is tucked into the woods Just off a quiet paved road. The furnishings exceeded my expectations and I felt like I was staying in a friend's guest house. Butterflies were everywhere and the only sound I heard that didn't come from one of us was the birds chirping.

Beautiful cabin in the woods!

We rented this beautiful two bedroom cabin to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. It was a beautiful property, peaceful and serene. The Owner accommodated every request, provided us with activities and restaurants to enjoy in the area. There was plenty of room to read, swing, hike, cook, play games, and even enjoy a bath in the master suite's jacuzzi tub. The place was very well stocked with books, towels, blankets, pillows, cookware and even spices! We'll definitely be back to this place!

Perfect vacation!

Perfect vacation! I booked this trip because I needed a peaceful, tranquil, vacation. That’s exactly what I received! I cannot say enough good things about this vacation/home rental. The trails were close by, everything was convenient, and absolutely just perfect. Plus, my fur baby loved it as well. Cozy home close to Pine Mountain

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Cardinal. The house wasn't fancy, but was comfortable, well-maintained, and had everything we needed. The porch with its swing and rocking chairs was great. The house is adjacent to the Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park boundary, so there are no neighbors (other than wildlife) on two sides. And even though we had neighbors, we hardly noticed them and it was really quiet at night. Even though the house was off the beaten path, it was a stress-free 15-20 minute drive to FDR State Park activities, Callaway Gardens, Pine Mountain, and the Little White House in Warm Springs. We had thought about staying in accommodations at Callaway Gardens, but were definitely glad we chose to rent this home instead. In terms of things to do and natural beauty, the Pine Mountain area is underrated. If you're planning a trip to the area, Casa Cardinal is a great place to stay.

Amazing Getaway in the Woods!

This cabin was perfect for my wife and I and her parents, and it had plenty of room to spare! If you're looking for a quiet mountain getaway, this is your place. The woods behind the property were beautiful to walk through, but pay attention to the neighboring property's "No trespassing" paint markers on the trees along the property line. Can't wait to come back!

Quiet & Peaceful

The property was as listed online. The cabin was very clean and quaint! It is a very quiet location. We enjoyed just being in nature. It is very close to Warm Springs and the Little White House which is a very interesting piece of history to visit. Kim was very prompt to answer any questions and concerns we had!

Great stay, ramp issue

Great place to stay. Only problem we had was that even though there was a ramp for my father, who is in a wheelchair, it was not easy getting him from the vechicle to the ramp. There was gravel, which i understand why it is there. Would be nice to have ramp more accessible

Peaceful and quiet getaway!

We loved this cabin! It was just what we were looking for to get away for our anniversary! Being at the end of the road , we had gorgeous woods on one side that made sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch just so quiet and peaceful! The shopping was amazing and the food we ate in the many restaurants was delicious! We will definitely return!

Kim, Ali and Stefani welcome you to our beloved log cabin and hope you make your own family memories! We three (mother & daughters) built the cabin to be a place of peace and spirituality-- a place to enjoy nature and one another. Over the years, we have hiked, biked and horseback ridden pretty much all of Callaway Gardens, FDR park, Warm Springs, LaGrange, Westpoint and surrounding countryside. A former military family, we still travel the world, but love to return to Casa Cardinal, to rock on the porch, enjoy the fireplace, play board games and enjoy photography. Now that reliable internet has arrived;-) we particularly enjoy sharing our home-away with other foreign service and military members and their families, teachers, authors & artists, and all who are young at heart or who find the flora and fauna, as well as rich history and outdoors activities in the area, a welcomed change of pace.

With roots in Atlanta, but a life spent in Florida, Callaway Gardens was a family "stop" along the oft traveled road in-between. On one such stop, to marvel at the Christmas Fantasy of Lights at Callaway Gardens, Kim, Ali and Stefani found Mountain Top Resort was being planned, near FDR park and above Callaway Gardens. We chose the lot literally at the end of road, bordering the forest and brimming with fireflies and birdlife. We intended our cabin to be a place to relax, observe and enjoy nature and our own ever-changing lives. From the start, young Stefani (later an architectural student and designer) had clear ideas as to how to build and furnish our cabin. Over the years, Ali (now an ER Doc) and Kim (slow retiring from DOD) also brought items which reflect our international travels and interests, yet fit harmoniously into our simple place. When the girls were small, the surrounding attractions offered safe but beautiful trails for them to explore; as they grew up, the cabin, Callaway and day-trips to Atlanta's great museums, shopping and restaurants made our cabin the perfect place to share with friends. Designed with future accessibility and space utility in mind, we three plan to keep the cabin for decades to come and to continue to enjoy the seasons of our family's life, as much as the panorama of nature's changing annual seasons. We hope you will do likewise, as our guests.

There are many log cabins sprinkled around Pine Mountain and Warm Springs, but our cabin was one of the first. We situated our cabin to allow for privacy and proximity to woodlands nature. We enjoy morning coffee on the porch, rocking or porch-swinging; and evening wine as the sun sets and the wood fire in the fireplace is started. The downstairs master has a sauna and walk-in shower with a built in seat. Upstairs, the girls' room, has a skylight which often showcases a passing moon, as well as a loft for reading or naps. A metal roof allows just the right amount of soothing patter on the roof when the rains come. It's simple, but cozy and convenient. Internet allows for one, streaming, TV; a dishwasher and stackable washer/dryer make the cabin modern. If you like the all white sterility of chain hotels, then our cabin is not for you. If you prefer the peace and quiet, and tasteful colors and textures of nature, then you will find your comfy escape here.
