The property is amazing for a Big Sur get away. This cozy home has amazing cliff views for sunrises and sunsets. Nights are dark enough to see the starry sky light up. 10/10 recommend. Owner is very communicative and will make sure you are taken care of.

Cynthia and Daniel's one bedroom rustic cabin is a perfect couple getaway. The views are breathtaking. Proximity to Esalen makes it easy to head there for a massage and soak. I highly recommend this little piece of heaven!

Romantic, peaceful getaway

It was our anniversary & we couldn’t have found a better setting for a peaceful, romantic few days. The property is private & overlooking the ocean with numerous outdoor places to sit or lay down & relax. The inside of the cottage is small but very comfortable. Every window has a beautiful view of the ocean or surrounding gardens. We didn’t want to leave.

Stunning and romantic, indeed

I have been visiting and passing through Big Sur for over 30 years, and have always fantasized about staying in one of the houses on the coastal side of highway 1. When I stumbled on this ad, it seemed too good to be true, but my wife and I spent three wonderful days at Gallery House last week, and the cottage more than lived up to hopes. The weather changed each day we were there, as it is likely to do in August, which gave the breathtaking and restorative views a wonderful metamorphosis. Being so close to the attractions of the area made the visit special, but our favorite day was the one that we stuck around and only left for a brief jaunt up the road to see the Condors. Thanks Daniel and Cynthia for creating such a great space. Can't wait to return!

I almost don't want to leave a review, for fear of other people discovering this place and booking it next time I want to stay here. This house is PERFECT. My girlfriend and I stayed here for our engagement weekend, and we could not have picked a better place. It's probably the fifth or so rental property I've stayed in in Big Sur, plus Ventana and Treebones, and no doubt hands down this is the most perfect, romantic, private experience among them. Unreal views, perfectly spacious and extremely comfortable, well kept and well maintained, with so many delightful details that made our trip that much better. You're about 10 PCH miles from all the city's restaurants, and a mile from Esalen. But it feels like you're miles and miles from the rest of the world. Just...perfect.

Not for every one but perfect for the right one.

This cottage is amazing. The owner is a photographer and his art adorns the inside tastefully and helps get you ready for exploring Big Sur. But be clear, this is not for those that desire to be plugged in and in touch with. We loved the many hikes we went on, the quiet time by the fire and watching the amazing view. Being unplugged helped us to do that and to enjoy the pace and beauty of this place. It is what we wanted but surprisingly, we struggled. If finding that meditative state where the mind and soul can thrive in peace is what you crave (and who doesn’t) this is your place. Favorite place was probably Pfeiffer Beach. Favorite hike was the limekiln system but saying that I know that there is so much more.....

Wonderful cottage in an amazing location

My wife and I began our honeymoon with a two night stay at this wonderfully charming cottage situated on the cliffs of Big Sur overlooking the breathtaking Pacific. I would echo the comments made by other reviewers. The cottage was extremely clean and appointed wonderfully with artistic touches everywhere inside and out. The grounds are kept very well and the gardens and vegetation provide such a serene and secluded environment. The views are amazing - even better than the photos suggest. The inside of the cottage was cozy but not cramped at all for a couple. The small kitchenette was perfect for us and was outfitted with all that we needed. The bathrobes provided were a very nice touch and the bed and linens were all very comfortable. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner Daniel who was gracious and kind. The location is toward the south of Big Sur and we enjoyed the proximity to Esalen where we enjoyed the night bathing in the natural hot spring tubs. The drive north to some of th restaurants was 15-20 minutes but with the amazing views the drive was more than enjoyable. If and when we make it back to Big Sur, I would not hesitate to stay at the Gallery House a second time.

Beautiful serene cottage

The cottage is just lovely!! Easy to get to, right off Highway 1
 Setting is stunning- we had morning coffee in a little seated area overlooking the water, the bedroom window faces the ocean below so you can hear the waves crashing
 took time to write and sit and meditate on the small lawn area facing the ocean
 It was foggy through most of the mornings and evenings so no sunsets but the fog had its own character that was lovely to observe. Bed was very comfortable, kitchen had all we needed, the robes were a big plus as it was cold outside in the mornings
 I don’t have the best cell service generally and here- we had no internet or cell. Ultimately, that was better! The landline worked well, and I did give the number to those who might need to reach me. Hosts were very easy to work with. I’m so grateful to have found this cottage- wonderful way to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

Absolutely a magical romantic stay. The views from this cottage were some of the most beautiful sceneries me and my fiancĂ© have seen. we book Oceanside stays at least once a month in different places. Perfect place to unplug

Cottage was clean and so comfortable. No cell service or WiFi so was the perfect spot to relax and read a book and explore the nearby state parks.

Wonderful peaceful place!

This was just what the doctor ordered! What a peaceful place with the cutest, coziest cabin! Cynthia and Daniel were wonderful hosts - easy to reach and so helpful with the questions we had. The power went out and my husband requires it for his CPAP to sleep - they offered us another place to stay if we needed it! Absolutely recommend and we'll be back!

Incredible Views and Charming Cozy Cabin

What an amazing and special property in a one of a kind location. We are so glad we could experience Big Sur from this cabin. We will never forget our time there. We hiked a beautiful nearby hike and couldn’t believe the views right from the cabin. It was truly a fantastic experience. We enjoyed the fire place, comfy bed and the incredible charm. Cynthia was helpful and accommodating. Finding the location was simple with her great directions. We fell in love with the area and hope to return when we can! You’ll not find anything like this so I recommend this to anyone who is lucky enough to spend time on Big Sir. My husband agreed it was amazing and thanked me for finding it. Thank you Cynthia for all of the communication and details.

A view to remember

Privacy and Views. What an amazing location. Right on the cliff with views of the Pacific Ocean. Cynthia was an amazing host with clear instructions. We will definitely came back again !

The land calls to us in her quiet spiritual whispers, where One can slow down and appreciate the simplicity of just BEING. We feel blessed everyday and are so very grateful to own and live on this property here in God's most magnificent creation!
